I would include the remake of “The Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers” which also includes Veronica Cartwright who played Lambert in this film, as well as Donald Sutherland and Jeff Goldblum.

Jerry Goldsmith did the soundtrack score for the film. He did some great movie soundtracks. H.R Geiger did the Alien design and Alien Ship interior design. Great reaction.

My mum and dad saw it on release and came back shaken up. I remember it so well. They then let me watch it on its TV premiere. I thought at the time they were being nice knowing I was a sci fi geek, letting me stay up late, now I think they wanted to share the psychological trauma with me 🙂

They explained why Brett HAD to catch Jones the cat. They couldn't have it running about the ship messing up the readings of the motion detector, thereby making it harder to find the "guest".

Literally everybody asks why Ash told Parker not to attack the Chestburster. The reason is because the Facehugger bled acid from a tiny little cut that nearly ate through all three decks of the ship. That would have been bad enough on the planet with a toxic atmosphere. In the vacuum of space that would be catastrophic.

In Aliens, Ripley goes from being the surprisingly impressive survivor, to being about the most capable, and brilliant protagonist in all of film. If you enjoyed her in this one, you will really love the next one.

A lot of people see that on Mu/th/ur's display and assume that this film is set in 2037 but its not. Its actually set in 2122. I think the display that you see is just a log number.

It won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects, it put Sigourney Weaver on the map, it made $200 million dollars against an $11 million dollar budget, it spawned 3 Sequels, 2 spinoff films, 2 crossover films, video games, comics, novels, toys, board games, novelizations and an upcoming live action TV series.

Great reactions to the orginal Alien film, Emma!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽"Aliens" (1986) is the sequel. James Cameron (Terminator) takes over as director. It is a very good film. There are two versions. The theatrical version has better pacing, but the director's cut has more character building.

My idea for an Alien5 movie is as follows: It takes place after alien4 and takes places on an earth in ruins. TheRipleyClone has transformed into an entity that is producing eggs,and a lot of humans are affected,and a war breaks out.They have to use a nuke on the swarms of xenomorphs and decidedes to travel to the planet where they think the xenomorphs orginate from.There they find there are multiple forms of xenomorphs.They manages to form a clone of a xenomorph that is able to communicate with them. And a peace is established. But as allways Weyland-Yutani has spies that want the xenomorph for their biological weapon program. And it is a surprice who the spy is. And that Weyland-Yutami has a lab on a spacestation not far from the xenomorph planet. Where they finds forms of xenomorphs that noone has seen before.

The decision on whether to leave Kane outside the ship is called the Trolley problem. Its a philosophical question that has been around for a very long time. Its used to weigh up a persons logic and reasoning skills vs there ability to weigh 1 human life against many. They use it to establish who you are as a person. There is no right answer. Just honest ones. Do you allow 1 person to die. Or risk the lives of all 7. And its just one of the many reason I love watching people reacting to this movie.

They had to catch the cat so that they wouldn't be tracking both him and the Alien. He could cause a lot of false alarms, so it was best to put him in a cage while looking for the Alien.

Great reaction Emma. Since you liked this one you will also like the second one. The rest aren't very good till you get to Alien versus Predator. I think they did pretty good for being made in 79. Again, very cool reaction young lady.

Great reaction! Rewatch the film and pay close attention to Ash, everything he does, or doesn't do is to help the alien..... once Ripley works out the sos is actually a warning, he stops her from going to help, he doesn't forget Ripley is in charge when he opens the hatch, he's acting on direct company orders. Watch the way he is pretty relaxed during the chest burster scene, he spends most of it studying Kane. He knows what's about to happen. Dallas tells us the long standing science officer was replaced by Ash recently, so i would speculate that the company already knew about the aliens, and Ash was deliberately placed on the Nostromo, as it was the ship that would pass closest to the crash site.

I don't remember if you reacted to the song on your Music Channel, which was recreated by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra., you will Love it. The sound track was done by Ennio Morricone, it's Epic and a Classic movie Western from 1967.

I understand that the ship was almost entirely constructed inside the walls of a massive soundstage. It helped give the cast a feeling of claustrophobia. And to give more scale to the size of that room where the alien pilot was sitting....they used small children walking around in spacesuits.

I saw this movie in the theater when it was first released. The advertisements for it gave me the impression that it was a science fiction film, sort of like Star Wars. I had no idea it was actually a horror movie which just happened to take place in space.

In 1979 I was 17 years old, not someone who handles gore and terror well, on an out of state trip with some friends and I got out-voted on what movie we would see. Needless to say this film freaked me the hell out!!!

Glad you enjoyed it. I am obsessed with this franchise. I have read all the books, and nearly all the comics (even the ones that are no longer cannon), Played all the video games and Now I even play the tabletop RPG. Its such a fascinating universe and a lot richer in lore then anyone gives it credit for. Unfortunately we are heading towards this dystopian mega-corporation run future at an alarming rate these days. I definitely think you should watch the second one. James Cameron directed Aliens (part 2) and wisely knew he couldn't match the first one for sheer horror, so he decided to take it into a more action/thriller genre. Many people think that the second one is even better then the first one. And for good reason. Its not my opinion but I can easily see why they think that. It slowly gets worse after the first two movies but both 1 and 2 are close to being perfect movies in my humble opinion. I personally still love parts 3 through 6 but I can totally agree that they aren't even close to being as good as the first two. In short you need to watch Aliens. I'm sure you wont regret it.

Next you should definitely watch Aliens. It's the sequel to this one but from a different director : this one was from Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator, The Martian, etc...), Aliens is from James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar, Terminator, etc...) so the tone of the movie is very different but it's still a great movie. And Sigourney Weaver is back as Ellen Ripley but in Aliens, the character really steps up. You thought she was strong here, you have no idea how strong she is in Aliens....

This is the start in movies...u see anyone drinking milk, beware! I would call this sci-fi, not horror. The Thing is definitely both! This,the thing, and Bladerunner,(Scott also did Bladerunner!😮😮😮) are the 3 most important sci-fi movies ever made. Maybe add Tron, and it's sequel, here. No CGI, all models, special effects and practical effects! There is a huge tie-in here. In Prometheus, the prequel to all movies, the alien here on the ship with his chest blown out. These are Engineers. A race of beings who seed life on planets and if they don't like how the life is progressing they seed another life to wipe out the remaining then they destroy each other. Engineers created humans Aliens and supposedly Predators and gave humans the technology for Replicants and Terminators! Also Tyrell Corp, Cyberdyne Systems, Weyland Corp are all related. Dallas, in a brief view of his resume, u see he worked for Tyrell Corp 😮 that's Bladerunner! Cyberdyne Systems did tech work for Tyrell Corp! And Weyland Corp did industrial and flight operations for Tyrell Corp!! Also Cameron did the sequels for alien and Terminator!!! And of course, Arnold was in predator and Terminator! And Reese, Bill Paxton and the Mexican chica both in terminator 2 and Aliens. Also lance hennrikson is the asst police chief in terminator, and bishop in, Aliens😮😮😮!!! The old white guy here is Harry Dean Stanton. Been in every movie made since the silent era!😅 This , Dillinger, outsiders, Red Dawn, Godfather 2, Green Mile, and others. Pro tip, the first death scene the director and actor didn't tell the rest of the actors, what was going to happen with the actor, Scott wanted real reactions from the other actors 😮😮😮The real horror is, when ur being taken over, u don't know it!....just like in, The Thing!

Thanks for your reaction! I think the smoking (and the cat) are meant to suggest that space travel is commonplace. It's a popular misconception that the crew are scientists or astronauts. I believe we are meant to think of them more like the crew of a big tanker ship. They each have specific roles: the captain, the first officer, the doctor/scientist, the maintenance guys, etc... It seems clear that no one is a scientist other than Ash. What is very unclear in this story is exactly what experiences earthlings have had with alien life forms up to this point. The company has a policy about having to check out a signal, but has this ever happened before? I can only assume that again the idea is that space travel is so normal that the crew are apathetic about protocols. They just want to get home and get paid.

This movie really revolutionized the sci-fi horror genre. The sequel is even better. And it's funny that you mentioned Predator in the beginning. There is an entire crossover series of comic books, video games, and even a couple of movies.
