For this Yule Candle Spell, you will need:
- An image of the World (or the Tarot card)
- 3 white candles
- Your Book of Mirrors or journal
1. Light the candles at Midwinter's eve, this year #Yule2020 is the eve of December 21st 2020.
2. Take a snuffer and extinguish the candles, saying:
"The longest night,
winter of the soul"
(This ritual was adapted from a spell written by Cerridwen Iris Shead in Llewellyn's Wiccan Almanac)
3. In the dark, contemplate the positive changes you wish to see in the world.
You can meditate, do a Yule Tarot spread, or write anything that comes to mind in the darkness.
4. When you're ready, re light the candles, as you say:
"From the depths of the
soul comes hope,
light of the world."
5. Spin the World, symbolizing the positive changes.
Let the candles burn all the way down. Paste the world in your Book of Mirrors or use in spellwork that enhance the Earth.
