The bamboo doll is a reference to Princess Kaguya, basically a husband and wife find her in a bamboo shoot, rise her but she founds out she actually not of Earthly origin. Look it up for the rest.

@@AbdallahSmash I would but I encourage people to read it themselves as there is a few little details to note about the story, I already spoiled bits and pieces of the main plot. What you called "Brock's Jelly Donuts" I believe is actually Onigiri or simply rice ball. The things beside it? I have no idea what they are.

Correction bamboo shoots only appear on the day a bamboo fully grows. transplanted bamboo will never give a shoot, and fully grown bamboo will stop producing shoots!

Thanks for watching! A few notes: 1. Mom can potentially mail you bamboo. 2. You may get some bamboo in the mail from Daisy Mae after purchasing turnips from her. 3. Bamboo has changed since ACNL and apparently only grows a shoot underground once it has reached it's maturity.

The noodle slide is an actual slide for noodles lol In the summer in Japan, it’s a fun activity for festivals. One person drops the noodles at the top of the slide. The others have to try and catch the noodles with their chopsticks before they reach the end of the slide.

Regarding DIY Recipes from villagers in their house, there's 3 everyday. One in the morning, evening, and night. I don't know the specific times but I've been consistently getting 3 recipes everyday with that info in mind.

I visit them at 10am 2pm and 5pm everyday. That gives me all 3. Sometimes a time will be missing one depending on if it's a holiday or if someone is moving out

Weirdly enough I noticed if I started “cleaning” my beaches of all the shells my message in a bottle seem to be shell crafting stuff. I’m sure it’s all purely coincidental but maybe it can help?

@@adrianflorian1533 I have been making a point of collecting shells from my island beaches and mystery island beaches and selling them ever since I got the shell lamp recipe. I'm not sure if selling them makes the difference but I started getting shell recipes occasionally in recipe bottles, floating balloons, and island residents. So far I have the shell lamp recipe(needs giant clams), shell bed recipe(giant clams), Shell rug(giant clams), and the shell table recipe(sand dollars). My cousin was give a shell stereo from her sister-in-law and it looks like it needs shell conch. So keep collecting your shells, you could unlock more. I'm hoping I can make some shell furniture out of coral.

Bamboo island is actually the most common island you can get. It’s a 10% chance to get it.

@macsmith2013 All 10% means is that a person on average has a chance to get the island 1 out of 10 times, but as with all random things it's never guaranteed. I've gotten bamboo island two times, and it was actually my second island ever, but I have yet to see Tarantula island (though then again I don't travel often after 7 PM, which is my own fault). Either way, just keep trying, you're sure to get it eventually. :3

The bamboo doll is based on an ancient Japanese fairytale :) The tale is about a moon princess that was placed inside a bamboo shoot by the gods as an infant. Because she is radiating a light through the bamboo, she is then found by a bamboo farmer and raised by him and his wife. The doll represents the moment the princess is found. The studio Ghibli movie "The legend of Princess Kaguya" is a pretty good retelling of the tale!

In case you didn't know, the bamboo doll is based off of a Japanese legend about a beautiful moon princess who is born from a bamboo stump and brings prosperity to her adobted parents. It's a nice story and I suggest you look into more of the story

As others have said, Daisy Mae will send Bamboo shoots via the mail to players who purchase turnips. This was how I got my first ones.

You can also get bamboo shoots from Daisy Mae (turnip lady). If you consistently buy turnips from her she will send you a letter in the mailbox the next day thanking you along with some bamboo shoots. I guess that’s an option if you don’t have the Nook Miles or the 'luck' to get a bamboo island.

I really liked the smoke-cured version of the deer scare for my living room with bamboo and rattan thematic, but it’s noise is pretty awful :| this is even more frustrating than the uneven paths and bridges lmao.

And the bamboo slide is actually a fun way to eat noodles. People put noodles in water and it slides down the slide with water.

The villager DIY, I get 1 in morning, then another probably just after 2pm...then another after 8pm...don’t know if there is one during the night though...and my times might not be exact...just guesstimates!
