Good choice for the mic. i personally prefer the superstar mic myself too cause its cheap and durable a mic with an electret element might be better suited for this type of modification because the microphone element has a wider frequency response and im assuming ATS voice chat is compressed. You'd just have to supply the voltage in addition to the GND TX and RX. You can also take out the diaphragm in that mic and stick an electret in there and a pop filter on the grill if you want to remove the chuffing from your voice as an electret will pick that up. The 10 meter radio and HAM mics also have ch up and down buttons or a number pad. Plenty of extra keys. I dont have much time to look through the video but i wanted to give others some ideas. Apologize in advance if you've covered this.

Great video ty so much. I saw a twitch streamer using a CB radio as a mic to talk to his chat. When he spoke it actually sounded like he was on a CB radio, not a normal mic.
@DeltaBravoProductions
@DeltaBravoProductions 4 года назад
Well that could also be done with sounds effects. For exemple on TeamSpeak you can add sound effects that makes everyone sound like they are on a radio

I know this an old video but it's a great project. There a couple of things I'll do a little differently. I'm also going to try and add an echo board like a Delta EC2 or Palomar TRB X4. It'll require a 12v power supply but that's no biggy. Thumbs up.

im surprised by how few videos there are on this subject, i'm trying to use a cb mic for use as a weird alternative to a studio mic for sound recordings/vocal recordings and maybe using it for live streaming as a secondary mic.... so i am interested in the sound quality you get from this... any feedback or updates are much appreciated in advance

AMAZING! Thank a lot, I was going crazy trying to use the CB as a mic for my live set :) I just have a question for you as didn't connect pin 2 and 4 as I don't need the USB cable: now the mic works perfectly connected to the mixer as an audio source, the only thing is that the botton on/off now doesn't work anymore and the mic is always on...how can I reactivate the button function? THANKS!
@DeltaBravoProductions
@DeltaBravoProductions 4 года назад
You could put the positive wire of the mic on the switch and make it work from that. So positive mic to switch and then switch to positive mic plug and then it will make it that every time you need to press the button.

Still not understsnd how to convert my baofeng double-aux cb mic into a four pins one pls help me
@amazingbutter345
@amazingbutter345 3 года назад
Late reply but I don’t think you need to covert it into a 4 pin at all like he said in the video, You would need to unsolder the mic and switch from the circuit board from inside the mic it self, then solder it directly into the output wire And then cut off the 2 pin end and solder two wire straight into the 3.5mm jack, also solder two wire for signal (I recommend using a USB arcade encoder instead of a computer mouse like in the video, but it’s your choice to use a mouse or an encoder) I’m also going to use a Baofeng mic and just waiting for my 3.5 cable to arrive Hope i didn’t explain it too terribly
@DeltaBravoProductions
@DeltaBravoProductions 2 года назад
Think you did a good job explaing it. I agree a use encoder would be better, But that said, i wanted to use somthing that was easy and cheap for people to do.

Well the wires are small. They aren't big .. that's normal.
@hemlocksalad5383
@hemlocksalad5383 2 года назад
buy some 4 conductor cable and a 3.5mm microphone connector. The cable should come on a spool so if you mess up you can try again. USB cables have 4 wires so if you have a broken phone charging cable you could use a section of that. Make sure the wires inside the cable are 20 gauge or smaller just to make life easier.

My mind processing of this is that he's set this up as a constant mic with a "switch" from the mouse, I'm sure if you used something like JoyToKey and set the middle mouse button to whatever the keystroke is to talk in TruckersMP (or whatever MP game you want to use it with) and you're golden
