F&F is a hobby group formed by lifelong musician/songwriter Tim Purcell in 2010. He wanted to do a winter project with his daughter Sammie and Maggie Adams who they knew from church choirs and school . The show turned out remarkably well and they continued playing a half dozen gigs a year in the summers until the 3rd girl Chase entered college in 2017. YT views picked up and late summer 2019 they reunited to do studio recording with band members living in 5 states at the time.View counts exploded and they have continued to post a song per month since. Every one of their music videos is over 100k views and 32 have between 1 and 5 million. They have posted 5 songs from their Dec concerts. California Dreamin' is a good example of how they sound every bit amazing live as they do in-studio.

You won't go wrong doing more of their stuff. The ones from when the girls were in high school are amazing as they are mostly either inside a restaurant or outside a taco place practically in the parking lot and they sound fabulous. Those were all recorded live.

Quick history of that band. The guy you just saw “leaning in“ is Tim. He and a few of the other guys had a band called The Mustangs. When his daughter Sammie turned 15 and showed obvious vocal talent, he got the idea to have her and a school friend (Maggie) join. That’s when it became “Foxes and Fossils.” Along the way they have added and lost some band members. The most spectacular addition was Chase Truran, whose voice will leave you speechless for weeks.

@@tazzznphilly one reason their harmonies are so spot on is because the girls have all had church choir training since they were little. That’s consistently a common element with these bands that have harmonies as tight as foxes and fossils. When you’re in a choir you absolutely have to learn to sing with precision and your timing has to be spot on. It works well for them. I love your channel and just discovered it, thank you!

Tazzz, thanks for doing this so quickly! I left a comment yesterday but seems it disappeared, so leaving one again. This song was from the 70s, and I highly recommend you check out the original. The male lead singer, Tim Purcell, is the founder,and is the dad of the thinner blonde girl Sami. Band started when Tim brought Sami on board to sing and then they invited other friends. You can learn more on Wikipedia under their name. They were singing in frames on the screen as it was during Covid,and they had to contribute remotely. Tim is also a phenomenal producer,and arranged all. The past six years they have been remote mostly, ,also because the girls became busy with their lives and there was distance involved. However in December in Atlanta, they performed their first live concert of 28 songs, after six years. I will request more! Thanks for all and glad you liked it! Peace and love.

If Philly is truly from Philly, then he knows that vocal harmony is the root of Philly music. From doo wop, Philly soul, boys to men, Todd Rungren, Hall and Oates to Questlove. Philly music was birthed in vocal harmony.

Enjoyed it. Heard one or two other songs by them but not this one. Only criticism would be how he kept moving in front of the daughter to sing. Would of been better if the two guys stood next to each other.

Tim's daughter, Sammie, was on the right. The young lady in the center is Chase Turan and Maggie Adams is on the left. Sammie and Maggie sang in church choir together as teenagers. Chase joined at age 15 when Maggie left for college. About 10 years after f&f made a video, it took off on youtube. They all got back together a few years ago as their old videos were doing so well. They live in different States now and get together on occasion to record. Often one or more members are recording remotely and it is all put together in post production.
