There's nothing like a master teacher who teaches like he learned from the masters he's speaking of.

Thank you, Mr. Jones. You are such a great teacher and connoisseur of the blues idiom. For one year, I have been following your lessons and watching your videos on country blues and you really helped me develop my skills. Regards from Belgium. PS: funny that you do not mention "Death Letter Blues" for that riff, it is exactly the same as "My Black Mama". Renaud

good observation. Have you seen the 4 part Doc of Stax Records yet? I chanced to be in the right place and time to listen to a University Radio broadcast (CIUT) with the York University Professor/Historian who'd spent the past 35yrs of his life documenting, contacting, and Video Recording EVERY person who'd had anything to do with Stax Records that was still alive,...Including Stax Studio Musicians Donald "Duck" Dunn and Steve Cropper of the Blues Brothers Fame. Oh, and also the 1prt Doc of Muscle Shoals.

Really nice Rev Jones, I like understanding concepts instead of the note by note style teaching. Thanks you very much!

Open 'A' and Open 'D' are good tunings to use because they both take tension off the guitar and you don't have to worry about over stressing and doing damage to your instrument. It's good to know that.
