Play 1: Illegal screen 1:01, while a screening a moving opponent, the screener needs to allow the opponent time and distance to avoid contact. This did not occur which causes the defender to sprawl out and lose the ball handler. (4-40-5) No call on the point guard.

Bonus play (27:52) - clock is inappropriately started and runs from 4:52 to 4:51. Officials should reset clock to 4:52 due to the illegal touching (kick).

On Play 5 if the center official called the foul on the team in white (shorter player) first, then we may have not had a foul on the player with the ball - in my opinion!

Intentional Foul on Play 3. The two refs that had a whistle should have talked!

you are correct. the crew should have at least talked this play over.

On play 4. Imo there should’ve been either a double foul or double technical. There was no over the back called on black #1. #24 white definitely retaliated. C has to catch that.

Still curious from the livestream 1) PLAY 2 (2:02): Would this be what is meant by the part of the backcourt rule explaining moving the ball from the front court and back to the back court (9-9-2)?? We've always thought obscure situations like throwing it off of the official but I think it's this too possibly. 2) PLAY 4 (12:00): The ball is live once it is at the disposal of the thrower(6-1-2b). Once it leaves the officials hand for that endline throw-in, we can no longer make a correction. Am I wrong here?

On Play 1 there looked like an illegal screen followed by a defensive hold. The player went down while dribbling the ball, but while down stopped the ball and while the ball was on the floor, stood up and looked like he was in control of the ball when down. Traveling?

Did the center official tell the table not to switch the arrow? I say he did!

Always remember that nothing can be corrected after 2nd dead ball.

Play #1: Would have been legal for me even if the player fell to the floor holding the ball; however, if the player attempted to get up holding the ball, it would then be a travel violation. Play #2: The same 3-point concept applies in FIBA: legal. Play #3: Unsportsmanlike C2 foul for excessive or hard contact. Plat #4: So, when did the 5th White foul happen? If the video picks up with White shooting a last FT, this situation is long past correctable as you can hear stated in the background of the clip. Play #5: At a minimum, it would be either a Technical foul for excessive swinging of elbows or a U foul (C2); however, if sufficient contact was made, then a Disqualifying foul would be warranted. Bonus Play: There is no provision to retain an AP throw-in for a defensive violation; this can only occur if a foul is called during the AP throw-in.

4th play: the foul is on the rebound. After the FT and score, black drives to the basketball, is missed. Black reaches over white and gets the ball, then there is unnecessary contact by white. *that* is the foul on white, which *should* include free throws. But it doesn't. Black then gets the ball and is called for an offensive foul. Correct procedure here as discussed would be the same in FIBA: error occurs during a dead ball moment. Ball becomes live when handed off. Ball becomes dead when a foul is made. At that moment the error is recognized. Reparations are free throws, and possession to the team who had been awarded possession when the ball became dead. I.e. 2 free throws, then ball to white for the offensive foul by black. (if black had possession, rebound on the last free throw)

I agree on the 5th. *however*, it is a screwup by the refs. He started swinging because there were two people hanging on his arms. Call it tight, give the foul. If he still swings, you can call a U or D *as well*

Play 3 is the center's call. Why did he give up on it?

Play 3: so once a team is far behind they can't try and block shots? If they foul then its upgraded...? No. Offensive player knows what to expect on a fast break when up by 25. Foul. Thats it

OK then. Nba in the 80s maybe. NFHS frowns on excessive contact.

The important detail is you can see the shot blocker has his eyes locked on the shooter's head, rather than the ball. His intention is clearly to give a shot to the head, rather than make a play on the ball. I would have ruled this an intentional foul (C1 in FIBA) rather than excessive, but both are valid rulings. Especially for a blow out scenario, this is an important game management call to keep things from escalating.

So, if you suck you get to hit people all day because the other team should've expected it?
