thank you ! Supermoto are the most fun thing in terms of motorcycles. Many supersport people joke that are pit bikes but then they get a surprise 😄 Love your videos giving hell to big bikes 💪
The guy that crashed reached to me after I post this video. He said front tire was worn and the tire guy on track wasn't there. This crash was in the first lap of the first session. The guy who crashed rode the rest of the day.
@@MotoExploring Yeah, cant ask too much from a worn tire, thats for sure. Glad to know they're okay. I love it when I show up, especially as a coach, and the tire guy isn't there..... "Guess I'm not coaching both days!"
@@SilkLotusI always go to track with the tires already mounted. This is just 5 sessions, a tire can last a lot in this motorcycle because she is light.
Awesome video! Damn, I was involuntarily holding my breath a few times. The sport bikes blast past on the long high speed straight, but most of them were holding up the SM going into and even coming off the corners. The riders in front were hanging off, knees skimming the pavement and the 690 rider is at feathered throttle just looking for and finding off the line gaps to blast past the traffic that was holding him up in the tighter stuff. The video shows just how punchy quick a good running 690 is. 690s are a riot in the canyons, out in the real world. Have done a few track days myself, Intermediate group is scary AF as the riders have some speed, but their lines are all over the place. The maneuverable SM is a good tool for this chaotic environment 😆
Thank you !!! For sure the 690 is a blast on the trackdays. I love to annoy the sport bikes on the turns 😁. On the straight i needed to hold the throttle at 2/3 of the straight or else the bike would cut because reached top speed. This was intermediate group and the supermoto hold much better that i tought. Supermoto for me are the best, High fun on Low speeds. The lines on this track cant be the "optimal" ones because the pavement is really bad and people need to avoid the bad parts. In the canyons the 690 is for sure a beast. I need to upload more on youtube 😆. On instagram i have some reels showing the fun it is on the canyons.
Yeah, pavement is really bad. It's a shame because the "perfect" line cant be done because i have to dodge the imperfections on the pavement. Thank You!
@@MotoExploring Not necessarily in Germany. I have the Hockenheim Ring nearby. But this Track is too fast for my 701. But I live right on the French border and France is full of great Tracks🇫🇷❤
In the majority is a chill group i enjoy the pace. Only one i hated was the black CBR that come from the inside making me change trajectory to avoid crashing him and the same idiot go full throttle in the middle of two bikes on the straight. One thing is i crash for my fault, another is a idiot that is impredictable.
I don't use the downshift just because i am afraid of breaking something. I already break a clutch basket because of wheelies so I don't want to be harsh on downshift. I use many times the upshift but depends a lot. Sometimes is good to modulate the clutch since the floor on the track is really bad.
Looking behind you like that will probably cause an accident one day, it's dangerous, you need to keep looking forward because you're reasonable for not rear ending the rider in front.
I was looking behind on the end of the long straight because some "racers" like to cut from the inside and I will get T-boned because they will cross my path and sometimes they can't brake enough.
Map 1 on the modes? The map 1 is the mellow one that the motorcycle is more restricted. I never use it because on the 2 the motorcycle is still easy to ride.
