We have a non-binary teacher at our school and they are the nicest person ever tbh.

I worked for a gay principal, only the staff knew. A parent complained about 1st grade ready 'And Tango Makes Three' (a book, based on a true story about gay penguins). He told us about it and he said 'I turned around to him and said sorry I have to go my husband is making me dinner.' And walked away from the parent! 🤣😂

If I was the principal I would’ve just said “womp womp” 💀

I like the way the principal actually asked for the pronouns instead of just assuming do have a hard time with that and if I do mess up someone’s pronouns, I do ask that they give me a correction

The thing is though, Gay ppl are literally the sweetest 😭. I have 2 besties that are both LGBTQ+, and they are the SWEETEST. I love them both

The fact that some people think kids can be influenced to become gay just shows how ignorant those people are. The only thing that would be kids would be “influenced” to do is to treat everyone with kindness and respect… and if you have a problem with that then you just shouldn’t have kids.

I had a lesbian teacher and whenever a kid was called gay or wired my teacher lost it she had everyone sit down and talk about the LGBT community.she also became the best teacher I've ever had and she is the person who helped me figure out my identity I'm not bi and I am forever grateful for that teacher

My science teacher is literally gay and he's one of my favorite people. Forget teachers. He's so nice and supportive and he's in safe spaces and GSA and all that. There's nothing wrong with gay teachers. They are so sweet.

So I love the idea of everyone introducing themselves with their pronouns because then I know what to call them. There was a trans male in my school who I personally thought was really cool, but never really talked to much. I didn’t know what gender he was at the time and thought he was a girl… but no one is telling you their sexuality right when you meet, that’s just not a topic that needs to be discussed in your first conversation.

Almost everyone in my class/form is homophobic in my class block of my high school, they dont know i use she/her/they pronouns and that im pansexual and they dont know im a furry either- ans i plan on not telling anyone in my class except my friends (only close friends) which i have.

The music talent teacher at my school is non-binary and they're really nice and I think they run a LGBTQIA+ club every Tuesday, honestly awesome

Here's what I don't agree with. We don't need to be saying we are lesbians and gay. It's a school why do I care who you sleep with. Pronouns I can get behind but this is a school I don't think it's appropriate to be telling people who you sleep with.

I wish more teachers could be honest about themselves. The teachers I grew up respecting ended up being allies or part of the LGBTQIA+ family. They were great educators and made a HUGE positive impact on my life.

wow cis people are really mad about writing 7 more characters on a form aren't they /sar non-sarcastic answer: in this specific example, pronoun usage for cis individuals is quite literally bookkeeping, like having your signature on record. i promise you, it is literally as easy as it looks! putting he/him or she/her on a form is simply for the books if you think of it that way, and that made it easier for me to remember this when i was still using exclusively she/her. i hope this helps somebody in this comments section, genuinely! :]

My friend went to another school, where they FIRED A GAY SUBSTITUTE teacher, for wearing a RAINBOW BRACELET!!!! The whole school had a riot, students, other teachers and some parents even got involved. Glad my friend transferred! :) My school actually had teachers ask for pronouns and different names at the beginning of the year or when you switch classes. :D

I honestly don't think its a problem. You can tell the children about it and explain it to them, just don't pressure them into being a part of LGBTQ+. I don't understand why being a part of it is a problem, because there are so many animals that are a part of it. Its a part of nature. As a part of LGBTQ+ comunity that respects every creature on this planet (exept roaches) I want to explain this to everyone else too.

You know it’s perfectly okay for some parents to just not want their kids to be around certain things, not in a bad way though it’s just they don’t want their kids to be fought by people who are apart of the lgbtq community cause some of the community not all of it though, isn’t the healthiest and quite a few of the people who like the same gender or have gender changes are not mentally healthy. Ofc it is also their decision on what they do or do not want around their children. No hate to anyone, and these are just opinions.

This reminds me of something I learned at school the other day. My school is no longer safe for lgbtq‘s! There is apparently a new law about parent rights that if a child tells a teacher or the teacher hears that a student is part of the lgbtqia they will have to inform the parents! My parents don’t know I’m actually going by they/they at school and disagree with it completely. What do I do?? Edit for the comments: Before this law I told two of my teachers and at any time they could just remember that I’m nonbinary. I mostly keep to myself but one of my friends uses my pronouns even in the hallways. Also I am not worried just for myself but several other students who are gay, bisexual, nonbinary, trans or any part of lgbtq. This is what I’m asking help for.
