I was born 5 days before Christmas, I’ll be 40 this year, and I think I’ve maybe celebrated about 15 birthdays in my life. Way too close to Christmas, and often people will be like “here, this is for birthday and Christmas.” wWe purposely planned for my daughter to be born in June (ended up being the 26th), just so she could balance birthday presents and Christmas presents every 6 months.

Love ham hocks, especially for pinto beans, and that rice pudding looks delicious!!!

I always put on extra pounds in the fall/winter, then work it off in the garden in the spring. More fruits and vegetables will also help.

I love both of Justine’s dresses in this video and I am determined to make the rice pudding. It looks delicious. And our Halloween decorations consist almost exclusively of a headless cowboy (made from old work clothes of my husband sitting on some square bales), and now we’re in the country and Halloween is a trunk-n-treat in town and we put him in the truck be with an old metal wagon wheel, a couple of pumpkins, and some dead branches 😉

Sweetbreads are not the same as sweet meats. Sweetbreads are the thymus glands from cows. Meats was just a way to say food. So sweet meats meant fruits and sugared fruits. Green meats actually meant vegetables.

On my prom night, my family was busy driving from our Michigan home all the way to Wisconsin so that I could fulfill my dream to see The Lion King during its national tour. It was a great weekend and a great show, so no regrets :)

Happy Halloween! You can substitute beef shanks for ham hock to get more meat with your peas. I like caramel sauce, but not so much caramel candy.

A skilled swordsman he had massacred Saracens but, in the end, he was killed and decapitated by a scimitar blow. Since that day, it is rumored, the headless horseman has been wandering in the basement on August nights, up to the lance-shaped bastion.

Halloween is our favourite time in my family. But I got sick the day before and a few days after so we didnt do halloween. I dont know what happened I didnt even put up any decorations.... I live in the Charleston area of South Carolina, its used in many of the good local restaurants but it is quite expensive because its not mass produced. Its grown in small crops. But it is so good and so much better then regular white rice.
