FOR THOSE SAYING CAITLIN IS BEING DRAMATIC (from a current basketball player) IT TAKES TIME FOR U TO REALIZE THAT U JUST GOT HIT IN THE STOMACHE U DONT FEEL UNTIL AFTER YOU START MOVING SHE WAS BEING DRAMATIC SHE JUST FELT IT LATE
@@voguehaven5154 it definitely takes a breath or two to really feel the discomfort. How long does it take to really feel a kidney punch? I’m guessing that you wouldn’t know with your soft ahh hands. Callouses only on your fingertips from being a keyboard warrior
That’s exactly why she reacted this way lol whenever she’s beat, makes a turnover, or doesn’t get a call- you can always guarantee some kind of dramatic reaction.. normally it’s just whining and complaining to the refs but I guess Clark was especially needy for some attention during this game 😂
@@trxgger606 caitlin clark is a human too. there’s billionaires out there that could buy her and her family lineage. always a bigger fish, that doesn’t exclude her from being criticized. nobody wants to watch a flop fest.
That was NOT getting the wind knocked out of her. For several seconds, although it feels like a lifetime, you are not able to inhale or exhale, so it is very frightening if you have not been previously warned what to expect. I had it happen to me once in football practice, and a good friend of mine had it happen to him in a game. Frank Gifford, during one of the early Monday Night Football games, described it as "feeling like you are going to die". Or maybe "getting the wind knocked out of you" can also happen in lessor degrees, in which case it might be accurate to say it happened to Caitlin Clark.
the only defense id have is liver shots can be delayed reaction sometimes watch boxing some ppl get tapped there and then try to take a few steps and then drop and its like wtf ?
You weren’t there you have no idea. They showed it in slow motion. Clark tried to play it off but when you get hit right there it’s really hard to just keep playing like nothing happened. Stop commenting hate on her for no reason and think with your brain.
When you get the wind knocked out of you, the diaphragm spasms, pausing its normal function. If this has happened to you, you know it’s not easy to brush off. 🤷♀️
All of you haters who call that a “flop”, what would motivate her to flop in that particular situation? Honest question. And don’t say because she’s attention grabbing. I’ve been watching her all through college (unlike all the recent bandwagon haters) and she would much rather take the ball down the court in that situation.
Bc she got scored on. Every single time Clark gets shown up, turns the ball over, or doesnt like the call/or lack there of- she is GUARANTEED to have some kind of extreme, dramatic response. I’m not a hater, in fact I REALLY want to like her bc she’s so good but she makes it so hard to enjoy watching her play bc of her constant complaining and being babied. It’s so disappointing but I still respect her talent and the attention she’s brought to women’s basketball. I just personally can’t stand seeing a player as talented and admired as she is- act this way. Spoiled that’s all.
@@haybaybay14 I’m not denying that she complains to the refs too much - I’ve seen it too. But I don’t see her flop that often in the traditional sense of the word. (There are entire women’s basketball teams that flop way more than her!) What I have seen her do many, many times when she gets scored on, is go down the court with speed and immediately respond with a score or assist.
Not particularly a fan, but she took a hard shoulder right square in the diaphragm and got the wind knocked out of her. You tough guys take that shot and breathe. You're the pitiful ones.
😂😂😂 A shoulder going at that.. “velocity”.. wouldn’t have knocked the wind from a man.. let alone several seconds after contact lol. When you get the wind knocked out of you.. it’s immediate and not pleasant.. you’re on the ground the second it happens.. not 3-5 seconds after contact. I am a fan of Clark.. but the flopping (all around).. is getting pathetic.
@@darthsilversith667 she didn’t get the wind knocked out of her, she took a hard hit to the body. And yes, there is usually always a delayed reaction with a body shot. It takes seconds for the mind to register the hit. Ask any boxer. My husband is former boxer and he said this is exactly what happened.
@@darthsilversith667what you on about. Delayed pain from those blows in boxing is very common. You didn’t receive the knock so like me, you can’t tell if another person would cope or not. There is more dramatics in these comments about Clarke than from Clarke.
@@MrRambler246 u.mm, I was just saying she recently had a similar thing happen recently, except it was a fan, not a player that time. I didnt mean to upset you so much. Are "quotation marks" a close "friend"of yours or do you just have "OCD" when dealing with puncuation "errors"?
OMG LMAO NO SHE DIDNT😂 Clark is one of the most talented players I’ve ever seen but she is also by far one of the most annoyingly dramatic players I’ve ever seen as well. Her fans, coaches, announcers, etc enable her behavior but when you’re as good as she is, you can act however you want and get away with it. I hate how hard CC makes it for me to enjoy watching her play bc I really want to and as good as she is.. I should love every second of it but the way she throws a fit and complains, and overreacts (like this moment) after every single play, every single game.. she just makes it unbearable which is so disappointing. But regardless, I’ll always respect the attention she’s bringing to women’s basketball. I just need her to remember that more often so we can avoid embarrassing moments like this one in the future bc this kind of shit isn’t a good look for we women athletes 😅
@@yourbreezynessIt looked just like a regular bump in basketball in real time. Refs couldn’t tell the MD girls elbow was out just enough to make it an elbow contact and not an upper arm contact.
I was at that game in seeing it up close looked like she actually got hit in the stomach hard but on tv they make is look like she didn’t get hit at all
The guy commentary was tweaking the whole game. He said the player got her sht blocked then he said excuse me her shot blocked. He sounded kinda off to me.
This is insane. I think she's a very talented player, but for one, this was not a foul in any way shape or form. Second, this should've been a steal and layup by the other team. Why did they stop the game? I hope Iowa got charged with a timeout at least.
Not dramatic at all. If you all followed her the rest of the game she was babying that section of her body throughout the whole game. Wasnt being dramatic at all. Clearly something was hurting in that area.
lol did you read what you wrote. You said she wasnt being dramatic and then proceeded to baby the “injury” the rest of the game. That’s being dramatic. A hit like that with a delayed response is either a shot to the liver or the air knocked out of her. Both of those are acute pain. They don’t linger. Ever see a good liver shot? Body completely shuts down for about 20 seconds then goes back to normal 100 percent.
Nobody is hating on her, however we are gonna call things out and make some critiques just like with everyone else…..can’t handle that? Too bad. Caitlin is an amazing player no doubt about it however….this is like the 3rd time that she’s gotten “hurt” but due to the camera angles it’s hard to see if she actually got hurt, or if she was just exaggerating it a bit. Nobody is out to get her, however….when things like this start happening especially more frequently you really have to question is she actually getting hurt, or is she being a bit dramatic to some of it? Because with these few instances none of the people who’ve “hurt” her, did it intentionally like they were looking to hurt her. Caitlin is an incredible player however, if she starts trying to act like she’s being hurt intentionally when she isn’t…..or she does get hurt a bit but it’s nothing serious at all and she’s acting like it’s the worse pain on earth……that’s when we do need to start questioning it.
I think she truly got injured when she was elbowed in stomach area/rib cage by the collision with the fan after the Ohio St game. I think this ram to her rib cage by the Maryland player affected that injury. Also for all of you that think she dropped too late…my husband is a former boxer and he says that shots to the body take time to register before you feel it and drop. You can tell she was holding her ribcage and having a tough time breathing through out the game. It really isn’t something to be joking and laughing about. I mean here she is playing through…she’s tough and still manages to score in the high 30’s with the toughest defense in the county guarding her. No other player is guarded or sees the defense Caitlin faces and that’s a fact.
@@Hello_BeautifulPeople she did. If you play in slow mo from the view of the fan facing forward, you will clearly see the fan nailed her in the stomach area. Everyone is so quick to judge, but don’t realize that she would be stupid to take the chance of hurting herself just for fame that she was already getting.
Those of you who are laughing, you wouldn’t if you got hit like that. Coming from a basketball player that was a f*king hit. She got hit straight to her chest and that hurts trust me
Its so surprising to me that you all know how her body is actually feeling. I didnt realize you had such superpowers. How can you diagnose someone else from a video. Unless youre the one who got hit how the hell do you know what her body feels like.
Who cares how her body is feeling. That's not how fouls are called, by feels. The offense can do a little of that move in the post and it isn't a charge. For some reason she started cramping up afterwards but that too isn't a foul.
oh the hypocrisy of you claiming to know any better. Watch the Fing video. She barely got touched, and then it takes 5 more seconds for her to react. Couple that with her HISTORY of flops, this just just another.
Casuals that don’t know that a shot to the solar plexus takes a few seconds to register…I have seen grown ufc fighters keel over after a tough shot to that area….you have to love the negativity of the internet…your hate brings ratings and ultimately makes her money…just like Lebron haters….
I boxed for years. When you take a liver shot, it takes 2 to 5 seconds or so for it to register. Once the blood shoots out of the organ and drives it up, you literally crumpled your knees. The people that are saying the solar plexus as well are also accurate. The delayed reaction doesn’t mean that she’s being dramatic. Her body didn’t know what was going on yet. People must be complete casuals if their first take from watching that is that it’s just drama. 😊
How come that didn't go for review? Most people will say she just got bumped in the mid section and had a delayed reaction. Let's be honest CC3 ain't built for getting banged around.
She wasn’t hurt , she was on the bench complaining about it being a foul , not complaining that she was in pain 🙄 hopefully she’s not going to be another Lebron in the WNBA
She was barely touched. I can understand being hit just in the right spot that it will knock the wind out of you but to sit and complain that there was a foul on the play is laughable. Stop comparing her to Pistol. Not even close
the thing that bothers me is that she has become a target. it is not okay to be a target due to pure jealousy. If she gets really hurt what do we all say then. We cannot say that we did not see it coming.
😮 when the players are consistently getting hurt or injured it usually poor officiating, just like this game. The officials need to be demoted for 2 years to high school level until they improve & get their pay docked.
Agree. Players defending Caitlin are really getting away with so much and it’s starting to get too physical. One of these times she’s going to be seriously hurt. This was a terrible game for all our players, they were getting hacked and whacked all over the place.
Go to the WNBA, which has a ghost town fan base, or stay in college 1 more year and still get paid [NIL]. You can never go back to college. There is no difference between a 15 year pro career and a 16 year pro career, for example.
@@robertredmon5409 You nailed it. The WNBA at this time is a league where players sort of drift off. Perhaps in the future this will change but probably not during Clark's career.
Thats post game. Totally legal. She probably got hit in the liver though. although if that was the case her body wouldnt have waited for that long to make it hurt
She is LGBQT, Do you actually believe dude is her BF? 🤣🤣. . I was on a plane with him once over the summer, and when he got off, he was met at the airport by a female far more beautiful than Clark, and they kissed. Something you'll never see him & Clark do. The Bf lie was designed to quell gay rumors after some very suspect pics with Monica Czinano last season and to not jeopardize her endorsement deals. Conservative Iowa moms will not allow their girls anywhere near Iowa stadium and Clark if they suspected she was LGBQT. Stop being db,
CC took alot of these this year, so did Gabby Marshall, alot of lesser skilled players pulled that crap on Iowa,, womens game is cheapened by it, cuz you can tell the Coaches are fine with it--- They also lacked a really big enforcer inside,,, as SCarolina had
He didn’t get kicked in the balls? Referee don’t know she don’t have them but Caitlyn does. Regardless it was him trying to get referees to call phantom fouls on the opponents as usual to help him out.
She is a competitor, even though in pain, she still wouldnt let the other player get the ball. Clearly, you have no idea what a shot to the solar plexus feels like.
Two parts to this. She got bumped, but not bad enough to be called in real time, and second she did not make it dramatic, as someone said. I guess none of you understand that falling on a football can knock the wind out of you and I think that is what might of happened. The slow motion shows it as an offensive foul, but in real time, there is no way one could tell what happened. You can’t call every play, and this was not bad enough for the refs to call in real time. We have the benefit of slow motion.
What is she expecting is going to occur in the WNBA? This was not that much of a bump. That offensive play is the inside game of both the NBA & WNBA. Go CC & all your fans. Ow! Ow! Ow again.
I’m expecting she’ll get a lot more open looks when she is surrounded by better teammates and her passing will be amplified when her forwards and center are better players.
it is just another example of the refs allowing violence to be used instead of skill. in real basketball when the offensive player lowers their shoulder and moves into and makes contact with the defensive player that is a charge. but hey not in the ncaa women's MMA. and got to love the other player showing great sportswomanship and trying to steal the ball when the other player is obviously hurt. just scum. oh no coach reminding refs what a charge is. gawd love it when you can make the call because you are not blind.
