Are you able to get On Call on your car? I hear that the subscription app for On-Call has been canceled due to the 3G and the car would need a software update and a 4G modem installed. I bought my s60 used only to find out that I'm not able to use On-Call on my vehicle because I can't get a subscription to turn it on. Very disappointed!! Other than that I love the way the car handles. Oh, and for some reason, I can't get the trunk to open.
@@michaelburns8883 some 3g towers in California are still in service so I can use some connectivity but I fear soon I need to get the updated 4g modem soon the dealer quoted $400 and 2 years of service
Nicely done, Mike! I love the elegant design and interior. Looks great in white. Congrats on hitting 60,000 subs, Mike! Love your in-depth and informative presentations. Thanks!
In very sorry I have terrible ocd so have to make some corrections. But loved the video. I actually own this exact car. Literally 3 differences with mine. Mine is silver, black leather, and no heated seats but don’t need them in Florida. So some corrections and things people may not know about this car. You can buy them certified used with low miles for cheap. I got mine new but a friend just got the same exact car with 35k miles for $16k. Now fog light button is for rear fog lights which i use during heavy storms because it’s illegal in Florida to use flashers in low visibility but even if it was legal I wouldn’t it’s dangerous. The digital dash the scroll wheel on the turning signal if you push ok in the end of it it opens another menu and one of the selections is called themes. So that red digital speedometer is called performance. Second is called eco and is an analog style speedometer that’s green with an orange needle and the power meter turns to rpm and left side is the eco guide. The third and final is called elegant which is just normal black with red needle. The center consul, for example you said it only shows cd until you plug in a device, actually all you do is hit the media button a second time and opens a submenu being able to choose what type of input. Also to select things yes you can use the selection wheel on the steering wheel but the knob on the top right scross from the volume control does the same. The my car button yes you hit it and it showed the status of some systems like BLIS and the auto stop, but if you hit the ok button on that page it takes you to all the settings and controls for the car. Navigation to set where you want to go you hit nav like you did then hit ok on the steering wheel or the ok button on the consul. The button you actually hit on the right side they looked like a globe and said address is actually the internet and that was the browser. Which is expensive and only through AT&T so I never renewed. Also you didn’t show the rear window sunshade I love that thing. It was the button above the button that flips the head rests down and the screen automatically comes up over the window but will go down when you switch in reverse then back up once you hit 12 mph. Also when you go into reverse and it didn’t show it in the video and if you didn’t see it the settings could have been off but it does do this. When you select reverse the rear shade retracts but both driver and passenger door mirrors tilt in and down so you can see the curb or parking spot lines and you can select them both to do it every time automatically or just one. I have only all the time but occasionally when I parallel park I don’t want the left one to til just the right so instead of going into settings you look at the L and R buttons they select which side mirror you want to adjust and you’ll notice when in reverse the selection light it on. You can push the button and the mirror will go back to normal. Also a nice trick I learned to make the car fast as hell when getting on the highway and meeting the shifter obviously is in drive you push it left like you demonstrated to shift through the gears but if you just pull the shifter to the left like you’re going to manually shift it all you do is push it to the left and don’t touch it. Don’t shift though any gears. It stays in automatic but goes into sports mode and can really get it. Idk what year it started maybe 2012 or 14 all Volvo’s have a system called city safe or city safety which is an auto breaking accident mitigation system. This car like mine has the basic which is 100% effective when going 9mph or less 50% at 18 and shuts off in the upper 20s and only works if you’re not moving the wheel touching the breaks or gas. Which this car on eco in the city only gets 22mpg. Lastly and these are fun facts most people don’t know about this model S60. The 2017 and 2018 Volvo S69 T5 Inscriptions only and no other modes which around the world are known as the S60L is the only trim of S60 and only those two model years are not made in Sweden. In fact the 2017 and 2018 s60 t5 inscriptions are made in China. If someone doesn’t believe me they can look it up because it’s true. Now 2019 model year I believe they moved to South Carolina. Last fun fact. It doesn’t say it on the media input menu and only minimal in the owners manual. But this car can play DVDs on that front screen. Not a myth I’ve tested it and it works. Now once the car hits 6mph it still plays the movie but the picture cuts off for obvious reasons and is audio only.
I own a 17 Volvo S60 t5 inscription just like this one just silver black leather. But it actually does have a clock on the dash. It’s to the right of center below the power meter. What he doesn’t tell you is there are three themes for the digital dash. This one which is called performance. A green analog looking one called eco. And a black analog style.
@@bryanheald7001 yeah thanks, I ended up getting the XC 90 2017 for a year but now got a cayenne, and the insurance is annoying as it’s high but part of life I guess, I think right now I’m paying 425 a month, but that’s for the best insurance👍
Yes and no. I have this exact car just silver I cannot remote start it from the fob but I do from the Volvo on call app which costs $200 a year but has a lot of features including road side assistance. Now you can get some higher end models with a fob called the personal car communicator which looks almost the same and it does start from the fob
