This is the best overview of Ioniq 6 that I've seen! Thank you Mike! We have ordered ours but it will be a long wait from what we understand. Placed order in April but it's unlikely we will get the car this year. Sigh! We were told from the start so no news.

Where I'm from the price of the base Ioniq 6 lite cost as much as the Long Range for Model 3 which makes it a no brainer to go with Model 3

Interesting that you say that because I also don't care about super large wheels but I ended up buying the Limited yesterday for a different reason. I couldn't get a power front passenger seat for my wife in the other trims. I'm super happy with it so far. An incredible car.

So i just purchased one that says awd long range but when i looked up the vin on department of transportation Nhsta website it says its rwd . Im so confused at the discrepancy between window sticker and whats reported on vin . I also have those 18" aerodynamic wheels so i believe it might be a rwd

You have it set, the evse at 8amps, hit the little blackmsquare and you can toggle upnthe amperage, it charges on level 1 at 1.2khr vs the .6 kwh

You can bump the charge rate at 120 volts up to 12 amps on the charge unit and significantly shorten the charge time at 120V.

It’s nice seeing an in depth review of a base trim. I absolutely loathe the look of those 18” wheel covers, but I gotta admit that with the curated silver body color, it doesn’t bother me nearly as much. I would definitely want the 18” wheels for the range. If I went with a different color, I’d look for some different aftermarket wheel covers if they exist. This is the first time I’ve even heard about the “my drive” mode. Very cool. I’m wondering now if this only because it’s the RWD version. All the other information I’ve seen with the AWD versions, I believe that the pressing and holding brings up a snow mode. Thank you for making this video.

I have to agree Mike yours is the most detailed and comprehensive review I've seen on this car. Now through 9/5 Hyundai is offering 5k bonus cash and another 2500 off if you own a Hyundai. So in effect you ARE getting the tax credit but instantly! I am tempted to go buy one of these ASAP

That's what pushed me over the edge. My Audi A6 is 14 years old so I figured I would buy an EV in the next year or 2 to replace it, but then Hyundai added the instant $7500 cash back until the end of this January and I really love the car so I thought it would be silly to wait and pay more later.

The level 1 charger it comes with is more than adequate, especially for someone like me who doesn't have a level 2 charging set up at home. I set the amperage to 10 or 12amps and I got around 10% over 12+ hours overnight (from 84% - 94%). More than adequate, especially if you keep your car in your drive way for lots of hours or days consecutively.

I commute 120 miles on some days, and that can be for weeks at a time, every day. A level 1 charger would not cut it.

@@aluisious in case this might be helpful info for your planning: the electricity provider in my area reimburses up to $1500 for in home level 2 wiring and that's exactly what the electrician is charging. For the hardware itself, mine will cost $549 and the state (NJ) says they will reimburse $250 of it.

Yes and Sport mode is already VERY fast in the AWD. My Audi A6 has 300 horsepower and I think 310 Lb Ft of torque. My Ioniq 6 has a little more horsepower at 320 but A LOT more torque at 446. It's the difference between 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds in the Audi, which I already thought was fast, and 4.3 seconds in the Ioniq 6. It's another level!

how was the ride when compared to the Ioniq 5? Ioniq 6 SE has significantly more range according to the EPA, but I've heard the Ioniq 5 rides better than the 6

The seating position was a little better for me in the 5 but the ride quality was about the same for both IONIQs that I drove. Both great cars in my book. Kia EV6 is excellent too.

@@MikesCarInfo Ah I see, I was wondering if it rides a bit harsher since its lower to the ground. We didn't get this base model RWD in my country, we only got the AWD with 20inch wheels and it rode super harsh compared to the Ioniq 5 even with 20 inch wheels too.

I hate how it doesn't lock the door even though you have the key fob with you so annoying sometimes I want to close and lock the door with a vehicle on just to make a quick delivery

I agree on it being to expensive!! They were literally counting on the US not changing laws for tax credits and assumed everyone would be able to get the tax credit! I’m glad it changed!!! Old law seemed to favor all the companies dragging their feet on EV’s!

The IONIQ 6 has three trims. SE, SEL, and Limited. There is no "she version". This is an SE trim AKA the base model trim. The size of the battery pack is going to make zero difference in the scope of this video. www.hyundainews.com/assets/documents/original/56234-2024IONIQ6Feature20230502.pdf
