Hey, Is this still the case to find a job. I'm coming over at the beginning of October and looking to find employment pretty fast. You're videos are super helpful. Also, is an IRD number a tax code or are they 2 different things? Thank you.
Hi there! Yes, finding a job in New Zealand can still be a smooth process if you're prepared. Arriving at the beginning of October is great timing, as it's just before the peak tourist season, which can offer more job opportunities, especially in hospitality and tourism. An IRD number is not a tax code; they are two different things. An IRD number is a unique identifier issued by Inland Revenue for tax purposes. You will need an IRD number to work in New Zealand. Once you have an IRD number, you'll be assigned a tax code based on your employment situation and other factors. The tax code determines the rate at which you are taxed. I had a question I currently live in American and I am a good wakeboarder I was looking for something to rent until I can buy something on taupo lake and I am having problems finding long term rentals why I am looking for a home it’s also hard to find lake front property online thanks
We're not really real estate agents so we can't help too much with that. What we know though is that the rental market is extremely stretched so unless you are here and ready to move in and pay a premium, you'll have limited choice as there are other tenant ready to move in ahead of you :(

Hi may I know is it possible to open to an NZ bank account and to get tax code(IRD Number) if your on tourist visa? Or do we need to first get the job offer ? Thanks for your video
Thanks for the question Jean, your bank will be asking you for a proof of occupation when opening your bank account so you will need a work visa. It is very rare that they accept people on tourist visa for bank account application.

Yeh that's right everyone loosing their jobs ova the vaccine shit. The overseas vaccinated coming in bringing the omicron spreading it for example China India etc. We have broken families businesses busting the flipping housing here is absolutely terrible to the point people are living in dire situations at the moment. Wen the overseas people come to work here this govt corporation gives the houses to them. Ask the everyday people of nz. They are the people suffering, and can't feed their families and are jobless. The media don't tell ya about all the behind scenes that go on. They're not allowed to why? paid by govt Corp to shut up. So yeh!!! Woohooo!!! plenty of jobs for everyone that comes from overseas alright just remember whose job your taking. Everyone that has a family that worked all their lives job gone why am I so passionate about all this? I'm one of those people that worked my whole life at my job now I have nothing. I'm getting replaced cause I didn't get the jab. Thank you nz govt corporation for making it impossible for me and the rest of nz to live.....
We have a ton of video on the subject right here -> ru-vid.comsearch?query=campervan+budget at the moment due to the Coronavirus the prices are at their lowest but they may get back up as the borders reopen. There is a lot of unknown.
Great info to all of us sir/maam... I have question...if i have family member in new zealand....can i appply and work there in new zealand.. As a machanist...thank you for your cooperation.. God bless you....
I am hariarasudan, I have applied for my higher studies there....if I will search for job once I come , how to make a CV for the purpose of getting part time job. Please send NZ CV format....I am going to ready ....
Finding a job in New Zealand nowadays not all but mainly by PARTISAN. In other words, to get a job you need a referral/connections or if you had someone like a friend or family member currently employed in the same company you are applying. Most of the people i knew as most of them are saying they got the job because they knew someone works on the company. Same thing my previous manager told asking if i knew someone. .... And only hire someone who has no referral if the company is so desperate. This is the reality now in New Zealand.
Thanks for the feedback Warren. We very rarely hear stories like this. We have a lot of job listings on BackpackerGuide.NZ and none of them mentions referrals, it might depend on the industry or simply bad luck on your part :(
