All for saving money. Time is money so when you have time spend it wisely. Anti-sway bars are designed differently from anti-roll bars in the type of steel used. The anti-sway bar is basically spring steel or a torsion bar type steel meant to flex and spring back. It may work but as soon as you get any articulation in the front suspension the flex will likely break the bar at the welds because the heat changed the molecular structure of the spring steel.

That was my thoughts as I mentioned however a truck like this will never see any real flex in its life most likely. We can’t say time is money for all 24 hours of your day/night. You have to consider some time as you time to mess around or do what you want. This isn’t a business transaction being this will be a personal truck so I don’t see the hour spent as money. But even if it was then an hour or simple labor is better than $200 gone out my bank account if that makes sense.

@@ThePaintPaperHustle Oh I totally get it. I’m no different, if I can spend some time repairing or fabricating something to be functional rather than buying a new or used one I’m all for it. Can’t put a price on family time. As for flex I was thinking about the 2-3 inches pulling into a parking lot or driveway. I don’t know many who would off road with a truck like that but moving my 21K# RV with GMC 3500 dually around my shop to the back there is some mild dips in the yard with more flex than I expected.

You didn't hurt that anti sway bar. And both of those trucks are badass, the dually is tough as hell, always wanted one but my 01 f250 7.3 will have to do.

I thought sway bars stock were like torsion bars and the metal has like twist in it that is why when you put sway bar links you have to pry them that is why no1 fixes them cuz they don’t have a factory to do all that.

Brother you've got more into that sway bar in labor than just replacing it. And now it's total junk because you cut and welded it. Kinda dangerous actually. I thought I was cheap.

It took an hour and used scrap pipe. You’re crazy if you think that’s more than replacing it lol. Did a 5 hour round trip yesterday, daily drive it and hauled 2 cars to scrap this past week with it issue free. So far that’s a big win in my book

And how is it dangerous? If it breaks it literally just hangs there. You don’t even need a sway bar to be technical.

I could care less if that sway bar is even on the truck to be honest which is why I didn’t want to spend money replacing it. It’s good enough as is. If it breaks I’ll then replace it but I got a feeling it’s gonna be just fine

@tashacorcoran2683 yes you can get carried away. But my race car I put 4-5 coats on and cut off a good solid coat probably. All basic decent jobs get 3 coats. So it’s common for nice projects to get more. But it don’t need 8-10 coats of clear
