We have felt the stress & chaos of our new house being out of order & the front guest bedroom was a complete disaster! So spending a few days working on cleaning & house projects was so needed! My husband and I have been married over 43 years. I cook: he cleans. I do laundry; he takes it upstairs. He may not put dishes where I keep them, and he may not fold clothes/towels the way I do. I just move the dishes and refold the clothes/towels. No big deal. We laugh together a lot. Also, I use the foam glass cleaner from Dollar Tree. I have started using Dawn Powerwash on my glass shower doors. What a difference!

I’ve been married for 52 years and I do 100% of the housework. I can’t seem to teach an old dog new tricks. It’s ok because I want things done my way. He does do the grocery shopping and helps with laundry and sometimes makes the bed (I have to keep myself from remaking it, lol). He also takes care of the cars and mechanical stuff around the house. So I guess we’ve fallen into a routine that works for us. 🌺

I think what makes it work is that both parties show they care for each other by taking on certain tasks so it's a balance. If it is one-sided, then resentments build up. The trick is figuring out who does what--what each party likes to do or is willing to do. You can see how Kyle jumps in when asked and is reliable when asked to do what Amanda needs. That's probably why so many go "aww" and consider him #husbandgoals because he doesn't appear to grumble about helping her do these projects. In turn, he appreciates her creativity and all the hard work she puts into making their home awesome. They are truly an excellent team. You can even see how happy their home is by the contentment of their cats and dog!

I love watching y’all working together. My husband and I used to do that. He passed away suddenly three years ago. I miss all the things we did together. Especially getting our boys ready for school. It makes my heart happy seeing other couples doing this. 😀

I am so so sorry for your lost. It must be hard to go on without him. The hardest for my friend was to keep some kind of scheadule bc she felt like crying all the time. All of us shiped in. We made food for her family, I used to sleep over alot. The best thing that we did for her is since she works full time with only one salary now, we hired a cleaning lady. For now she works 4 days a week and all of us pay for the day she does even if she is paid at work. Dont be scared to reach out....❤🌟

I had a really mean home ec teacher in middle school who yelled at me for drying my hands on a dish towel…we didn’t have towel rules at home. I’m still traumatized, lol!

I just love you guys! I used to refold all the towels because my husband didn’t fold them correctly. I finally figured out I was doing twice the work and let it go. Not to mention, discouraging him from helping me. Life’s too short for stuff like that! 🙂

Having an equal partner to share life with is the ultimate blessing! I am so lucky to have a husband who cooks and cleans ! He has dinner started when I come home from work and values always eating together as a family. The trade off is I clean the kitchen after he cooks! I giggled throughout this video and love how you work together. ❤️❤️❤️

I just love how everything is coming together. It looks great. I do most of the cleaning in our house. I'm very picky about certain things. Hubby refuses to fold towels because I like them folded a certain way. You'd think after 29 years of marriage he'd know how to fold them. I think he just says that so he doesn't have to fold them. The towel confusion is real!!! The 'hand towel' hanging from ____ is clean to dry clean hands. Once a towel or cloth is used to wipe up something or used with a cleaning solution, it is soiled and needs to go into the wash. Likewise, the hand drying towel needs to be swapped out eventually too.

This fall is going to be a whole new level of crazy for our family… My youngest daughter is playing soccer. My oldest daughter made the middle school volleyball team. My husband starts his Masters program online. AND. I’m finally back in Nursing school, after being on hold while stationed overseas! My husband and I split responsibilities. He does the cooking, I do the cleaning. He does the lawn maintenance, I maintain the flowerbeds. In the winter, he shovels the driveway, I scrape off the cars. We’ve got a system figured out that works for us. We both work full time and both maintain the house.

I usually do most of the housework but honestly because of my weird shift schedule we do split the chores. Sometimes our days off just don’t coincide with each other so if I’m off during the week while my husband is at work I’ll tackle laundry, vacuuming, or even yard work. And then on the weekends that I have to work my husband will cook or clean or catch up on laundry. Even if he does something simple as a small load of towels will help. This actually works for us because when the schedules do match for our rare weekends off together there isn’t much housework for us to do and we can just enjoy each other and our days off together.

I mainly do the cleaning but my husband helps do dishes, makes the bed or vacuums. He also does take care of the outside and mows the grass and does all the landscaping. 🌺 I am picky about doing the laundry. I've been married for almost 11 years, usually I do the cleaning and my husband does the upkeep. Here recently he has been working soo much that I have started cutting the grass and doing as much as I can to help him so that he doesn't have to stress and worry so much when he gets home. Our kids do their chores and at night we try and tag team everything. My kids don't go back to school till next week, I cant wait to get back on a schedule.. LOL

My husband and I dusted, cleaned and straightened around the house since we are both on vacation- we have the time. He doesn't mind helping- I have to instruct him at times. We even pulled out the sofas and cleaned under them. Gross. We tackled the mess of odds and ends sitting in the shared office. I finally cleaned and organized the office closet! We make a great team. I do all of the cleaning, laundry, yard work, and manage the family appointments. My husband is the bread winner of our family and works a ton. He also cooks when he can. It works for our family. I am extremely picky about the way things are cleaned so probably the best that he doesn’t do it.

You are one lucky women, to have your husband clean with you. I do all the cleaning. Since I’m retired and my hubby still works I handle most outside stuff as well. We hire out the mowing and snow removal. I think once my husband retires I will still do all the cleaning.

My husband and I both clean the house and do the yard work together also. We pretty much do cooking and dishes together to. I am real fussy and want the house chores done the way I do it and I’m a brat because the lawn has to be mowed a certain way so I always do that. When the cars get washed and cleaned they have to be done my husbands way so I guess we balance each other. That’s what I love about watching you and Kyle.

Lol--yes, Kyle, there ARE rules about certain towels, etc.; in our house, we have a "no touch" rule for the "pretty" towels and pillows!! You two are awesome!

Thank goodness for goofy husbands…my husband makes me laugh all the time & he too helps me out. I love to see the different styles in decor. Although our taste differ, your style is very complimentary & well put together…colors, furniture, textures! It all blends together from one living area to another. I too have dark wood floors & light walls, however my decor is French country. You have a beautiful home & settling in always takes time & will change as the years go by. Been married 36 years & we both have settled into to certain things together, but not everything!🤷🏻‍♀️Great motivation…thanks!

Sorry, Kyle, but I was raised the same way as Amanda does it: there’s a towel for hands and a towel for dish-drying, as well as a cloth for the counter, because you don’t want to get dirt/bacteria from the counter onto the other two towels. 😀 Everything looks awesome, guys! 🌷

My oldest son helps me out so majorly. He is almost 18. Dad does yard work and maintenance and garbage dumping. My oldest son cleans our car and truck out and he details them plus he does out pool. My other 2 kids clean their bedrooms and clean out the litter box and feed their 2 cats plus they will be starting school very soon. My oldest just graduated from HS.

I am SO PICKY about how things are cleaned. My poor husband gets so confused/frustrated with me. For me, I think a lot of my pickiness is due to an anxiety disorder that forces me to always do things the same way, even down to wearing the same clothes and eating the same foods. Otherwise I get super overwhelmed and literally can’t function. I loved this video. Seeing your interactions with each other are so sweet.💕

I love how you have a particular way you use your hand towels vs other towels and cloths for cleaning, I'm the same way and my husband doesn't always know which towel/cloth is used for what purpose. It has always driven me a little crazy but, like you, I try not to be too particular and have learned to let things slide for the sake of peace and harmony and love. If I see a towel being misused sometimes I'll say something but the majority of the time I just wait until he's done and then I throw it in the wash, hehe. Also, I wanted to say, the Arizona cactus art is so perfect for your space! I love it, nice choice for that wall.

Hi Amanda, I usually do all the work during the week but the kids help with their room and family room, but in the weekends all of us clean my husband pick up clothes and starts laundry and he also gathers dishes, we also clean the front or back yard in the weekends, because we always bbq in the summer.

I am so incredibly fussy about certain things in my home (my husband says it's like "Sleeping With The Enemy, the movie". But, I can tell you, without a doubt, that my husband wouldn't have it any other way. He loves living in a clean home and tells me how much he appreciates everything I do. I feel much, much, calmer, when my home is clean.
