Hey Amanda! The room looks beautiful. You and hubby did a wonderful job. The nightstands look beautiful, but seven coats? Should’ve went with beyond paint. Lol😂😂
I love the addition of the green. All of the projects separately are amazing but, in my opinion, there are too many different colors and styles. There is no cohesive theme which makes in look thrown together even though you did put significant thought and work into it.
I love the green but 7 coats is absolutely crazy. The bed from previous episodes are my favourite but the frame around the tv and green curtains are my favourite it does make a difference because the room is very white. You need to do something above your bed like art to add some colour that side. ❤
The bedroom makeover turned it amazing! From the curtains to the painted furniture, the shelving, etc. My guess was it took 5 coats of paint so I wasn't too far off. I honestly would have given up after the 3rd coat at most 🙃 I've heard that the Magnolia paint looks good in the can but terrible coverage and finish. I wouldn't use it. I'm glad you liked the end results after all of that work. Looking forward to your first Room Rescue! 👌🏽👍🏼🏡
In today’s episode I think the new curtains added so much character to the room and overall I feel the painted bed frame and dresser changed the space so much! ❤
Amanda, an old video popped up yesterday on my feed that I had never seen before. You have got to see it. Look up Dr. Westin Childs 6 Stages of Hashimotos disease. The video is several years old, and I just started following him a few months ago. I did not know I had Hashimotos until it was way too late. But you are not as far along and I was, and possibly you could save or delay losing yours like I lost mine. I have got to get my kids to watch it. Hope this helps.
What is the blind on your window? Does it slide across or is it a slatted blind like the old type? Everything looks great in your bedroom. Love the new drapes!
I’m with you on the green. In the sun it’s a bit too green but the more muted/neutral looking version in shadows is amazing! Too bad it took so many coats!
As someone who has done their fair share of painting furniture my tip would be that if you’re going to paint a anything a darker color, then have your primer tinted to a darker color. That way you can get away with only two coats of paint.
I love the green color you chose. It’s absolutely beautiful. Have you considered having glass cut for your nightstands?. This would prevent the top from being scratched. Also, not sure if you considered it, but may be a nice large rug with lots of earth tones would look good and possibly been a better way to go instead of painting the furniture.

It looks so warm and elegant. The curtains, drawers and gold touches are so lovely. Have you thought about painting the shoe cabinet the same colour as the walls so they don’t stand out so much. Paint colour is lovely, but I’d never use that brand, that’s a ridiculous amount of coats.😮
I weighed in today and I’m down 7 pounds!! I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, but i haven’t seen the scale go down 7 pounds for YEARS now. I’m feeling very optimistic and hopeful. I know you know…so I had to share with you. For your nightstands, since they get so much use, go and get 1/4” glass cut for the tops. Have them smooth the edges and make sure you measure with a metal tape measure. Cloth gets stretched out over time and can get to the point where the measurements aren’t 100% accurate. Anyway, perfect rectangles are easy and won’t break the bank. But they’ll keep your nightstands looking brand new forever. No scratches, no drink rings or water damage. The tops will stay in perfect shape. And they even have the little clear circular pads (like the size of a dime) to cushion and hold the glass still so it doesn’t slip around. You could even do your dresser. Any glass company can do it for you supper easy and fast. Just call around and get a few quotes. And I love the color too. It really pulls the drape color too. It’s not great paint though if it required SEVEN coats. That’s ridiculous and so much work. But I do think they add a Lot!!
I think the shelves make such a difference. Beautiful!! I know that you ask about the lamps switch but, I like the original lamps more than the new ones. The room make over is gorgeous!
Absolutely love the color of the curtains! I and really impressed with the auto curtain draw, I like it. If a paint needs that many coats, I would say that the paint is a very poor quality and now that I see just how much trouble it caused you, I will definitely not purchase that brand. You such a hard worker and so patient.
