Hi there! I've been foiling as a business for 6 years. I foil about 200 place cards a day. 😂 I have a simple fix for the extra foil around the edges. Use a clean, dry wash cloth and gently scrub off the excess. (Don't use a fancy one because it will end up with toner on it over time.)
Nice tip with the Minc foils. I need to get out my Minc and start using it. Loved your last tips on the reactive ink, etc. will be beneficial for me to rewatch before starting to use my Minc. TFS!!

I actually was VERY HAPPY to learn about the resist ink to use on stamps! I have that same stamp set of Tim Holtz. It’s a great Christmas set and is beautiful with that Merry Christmas stamp that you used to sample the resist ink with Minc foil using that stamp. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

hey, thank's you for the tips!!! I have a problem to use foil just in a part of my design.. i put a white paper over the foil cause if i don't everything goes on the transfert paper ... but the result is so bad, not all the part of my word are foil, do you have tips for me please ?
There are so many variables that go into getting a good result. I will help the best I can. 🥰 what cardstock are you using? What foil are you using? Are you using toner images out of a laser printer or the toner ink from the bottle? Is the foil coming off onto the clear transfer folder? That shouldn’t be happening if you’re just covering toner your image. And you shouldn’t have to use paper overtop your foil. If placing paper overtop your foil the foil won’t get hot enough to melt onto your toner. Also, what heat setting are you using and how many times are you running it through your machine? Sometimes I have to run an image through 2 times, to get the best results. I look forward to your reply and hope I can help.
I have a problem with foiling ,, i use laserjet printer and thick cardstock however my foiling once done it looks dusty inside the artwork, there are no bleeding on the edges though. All products i use is from minc.
Dust off your image and backside of foil both with a brush and see if that helps. Also run project through 2 times if you’re getting spots. Also, if you can use the card stock I recommend for toner images because it definitely does matter. Not all card stock wanted to work for me. I hope this helps. ❤️

Anytime I get toner showing through it means the machine needs to be hotter. Sometimes I run things through twice before opening the folder just to make sure enough heat is applied. The long foil rolls are the best to use and give great results. ❤️🤗🤗🤗
