TRUE CRIME PLAYLIST: • True Crime Body Language
On February 24, 1986, the body of Sherri Rasmussen was found in the apartment she shared with her husband, John Ruetten, in Van Nuys, California, United States. She had been beaten and shot three times in a struggle. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) initially considered the case a botched burglary, and were unable to identify a suspect. Rasmussen's father believed that LAPD officer Stephanie Lazarus, who maintained a relationship with Ruetten, was a prime suspect.
Detectives who re-examined the cold case files in 2009 were eventually led to Lazarus, by then herself a detective. A DNA sample from a cup she had thrown away was matched to one from a bite on Rasmussen's body that had remained in the files. Lazarus was convicted in 2012[2] and is serving a sentence of 27 years to life for first-degree homicide at the California Institution for Women in Corona.
Some of the police files suggest that evidence that could have implicated Lazarus earlier in the investigation was later removed, perhaps by others in the LAPD. Rasmussen's parents unsuccessfully sued the department over this and other aspects of the investigation.
The Behavior Panel comprises the world's top body language and behavior experts: Scott Rouse, Mark Bowden, Chase Hughes, and Greg Hartley. They analyze behavior and body language in videos of public interest. This non-partisan group aims to educate and entertain, focusing on nonverbal communication, deception detection, behavioral analysis, statement analysis, interrogation, and resistance to interrogation. Through careful examination of gestures, expressions, linguistics, and cultural context, they reveal truths and deceptions. The Behavior Panel is prominently featured on The Dr. Phil Show and has its own show on the US TV Network, Merit Street Media.

Sherri Rasmussen was a remarkable young woman. She graduated from HS at the age of 16 and received her BS in Nursing at age 20; by age 28 she had already risen to be the Head of Nursing (department director with responsibility for every nurse) of a large Los Angeles hospital. She had so much more to offer the world. Please remember her ❤️ RIP

I found it very telling when Lazarus told the officers she remembered Sherri was "killed." She didn't say murdered. Being killed implies a car accident, run over by a car, plane crash, fall from a height, house fire etc. If a person shoots another person and they die the majority of people would say the person was murdered unless it was an accident. I don't think Lazarus could bring herself to say "murdered." Finally the moral of the story is: THE PASSAGE OF TIME DOESN'T DIMINISH THE CRIME!

i've never even remembered to do this: big huge props to the detective who swabbed sherri's bite mark for dna and properly stored..,.remember this was in the 80s!!! so not only was it collected but properly stored which is huge and case never would have been solved...dna was in its infancy then.
@peggypeggy4137
@peggypeggy4137 2 года назад
Yes, that was amazing that they even thought to swab the bitemark because they were just starting to use DNA in England shortly before this murder. I wonder if after Stephanie ever thought about this when she started to realize that DNA was now part of the picture. Did she put it out of her mind? Did she think she got away with this? Maybe the DNA too degraded, they would have gotten me by now? In any case, she's kicking her ass by the time they did this interview. Why was I so dumb to bite her?!! Especially since it wasn't necessary, it was just very bizarre.

Love how the detectives, caught her off guard. The past finally cought up to her, big time, and it's a pleasure to watch her squirm. I have watched this several times, and still can't help wanting to watch her goofy faces and behaviors, and the end results. She had 23 years of freedom. That poor girl's life was brutally, cut short. Talk about a green-eyed monster.

I believe him!); and 2, how embarrassing it must be to realize your interrogation tape is being used to teach bad body language. Lazarus and Ruetton were never officially a couple; she was a benefit in their friendship. He was a weak man who never defended his wife in any material way-he only told Sherri to ignore Lazarus’s truly psychopathic stalking behavior. Lazarus followed Sherri around, always making sure her presence was known. It was unbelievably creepy. She did all of those crazy things and more only to sleep with Ruetton a couple more times. That’s it. They both moved on and married other people. What a waste.

@@Nina_Frank Yup, my opinion was NK wanted to give CW a boy baby. Chris believed her at that was one if the reasons he tried with medication to make sure Shanann lost her baby Nico. I also think the cops should look at Nikki she had something to do with the killings. I watched Chris walk out of the garage- the first person out of the garage after Chris backed it up was Nikki. My opinion only

Still deciding if I watch this to learn body language or to watch Chase giggle and smirk throughout the video. 😄

Stephanie is one of those women who think they’re a lot cuter and more charming than they actually are.

100%. If women interviewed her they would not have gotten this far.

Absolutely-I think she thinks that people are attracted to her bc she’s such a ‘great personality’, and ‘funny person’, you know someone that thinks they are, and makes sure they tell others that they are always the ‘life of the party’.

yes her view on "i'm so bubbly and out going" is actually super creepy and cringey... her perspective on things and interpretation is so insane

Out of any interview I've watched on this channel I'd say this lady has got to be the most theatrical mess of constipated lies I've ever seen. Once you add in the verbal marble mouth of jabber onto her entire being its one hell of a interview to disect. I LOVE IT!!! Another great video guys. Love from Canada Ontario. ❤️
