the reason I thought Chris Watts was guilty in that footage, other than the nervous behavior, is because he avoids watching the surveillance camera footage. if you were innocent and your wife were missing, you would be examining every single thing on that captured footage.

I totally agree. If that cop didn’t pick up on watts having a mini meltdown and the total fear on him then he needs to quit his job! Especially when watts put his hands on top of his head! It was like he knew his actions were going to be on that video and the jig was up. Such guilty behavior!! That snippet of video should be shown in police academies under the title…. What guilty of a crime and total fear of being caught looks like!

You talked about the fear smell. I had a trained service dog who was supposed to tell me before I had a panic attack. I was in a room with a sheriff and a deputy sheriff who had broken the law. My service dog left my side and laid on the deputy sheriff's feet indicating his fear. It was an eye opening event.

@@tracyafig I trained my own service dog. She didn't have those type of boundaries and limitations of other service dogs. For instance, I would take her to church and I was happy to have all of the children play with her especially if one was afraid of large dogs as she was a Doberman. I also took her to nursing homes and children's hospitals. She was so unique and so special that I did not want to keep all that she had for just myself. In this particular situation we were all seated. She was on a break and therefore she was able to walk around the room. She was always attentive to me even if she was not at my side. I have trained six service dogs and that doberman was the very best dog I have ever owned.

Service dogs are so special. We're a family of animal lovers, & I swear, a cat we adopted frm the ASPCA back in 2009 saved my son's life. I suffer frm C-PTSD & often wished I'd had the resources for a service dog. I know there is a limited supply of them as well. I've recently learned that veterans are being paired w/ them which makes me very happy! Thx for telling us abt your special dog & your experience. Happy New Year, everyone!

I always wonder how I would do if I was ever interrogated/accused of something. The other day we had police show up at our door because our next door neighbor’s Halloween decorations had been vandalized. We were never what you would call friends, but we were friendly. We’d chat in the street, our kids would play together, we’d talk about the trees on our shared property line, etc. A few months prior to the vandalization, she’d had some choice words for me. I felt completely caught off guard as I had no idea she had any anger towards me, and we haven’t spoken since. The parents don’t spend a lot of time in their yard, so I just ignore them now if I happen to see them outside. When the police knocked on our door and said the neighbors decorations were vandalized, my first thought was that the neighbors might have told the police that we don’t get along and to go over to our house and try to see if we had anything to do with it. My stomach got that funny feeling you get when you’re nervous, and I felt like I was stuttering and tripping over my words. The police just asked if we’d heard or seen anything, which we hadn’t. We hadn’t even noticed it happened. But I wonder how my body language would have been interpreted. Was it obvious that I felt nervous and awkward while talking to the police? Would that have been interpreted as guilty body language? Would I have failed a polygraph test because I felt nervous?
@dowth3
@dowth3 2 года назад
My guess is that nervousness wouldn't produce clusters of behaviors, and that even odd behaviors must be considered within the context of bad blood between you and your neighbor. Interesting comment.
@DoubleMonoLR

I'd imagine the police are used to people being nervous, it must surely be a common reaction.
@gigi9301
@gigi9301 2 года назад
LOL!! First of all, please realize that you NEVER have to take a polygraph and it's only used as an interrogation tool by LE...I doubt they would have strapped you in for vandalizing halloween decorations...anyway, you could have also either refused to say anything and slammed the door in their faces, or (as you did)...just told the truth and said nope...we're not the best of friends but I had nothing to do with their decorations.
@trishgreen2892
@trishgreen2892 2 года назад
Dr. Todd Grande, who also has a RU-vid channel and analyzes true crime stories, has said before that contrary to general belief, polygraph tests are unreliable. I'm not sure why they are even still used.
@gigi9301
@gigi9301 2 года назад
@@trishgreen2892 Because cops convince suspects that it's a way to "clear themselves". Actually there is no "passing" or "failing" a polygraph. It's like them reading your palm or tarot cards. They use it as intimidation and as a means to try to cajole confessions/further information from a person of interest or a suspect. If you hire ANY decent criminal defense attorney, they will tell you to refuse a polygraph...which everyone has a right to do...Did you know that Bundy and the Green River Killer both "passed" polygraphs...so cops let up on the heat? Did you know that countless people in prison right now were interrogated for HOURS following supposed "failed" polygraphs...which turned out to Not be true? If a person is on any benzo's or blood pressure meds, or just a plain old psychopath/sociopath...they will "pass" with flying colors....and even if you DO Pass with flying colors...cops can lie to you about that...they can say YOU Failed...then keep questioning you....It's a No Win situation

I think it would be interesting to look at the footage of Henri Van Breda. It's a case from South Africa, of a man who was convicted, of ax-murdering, almost all of his immediate family. Including his parents... yikes! I'm interested to know how he feels about "sweet and sour chicken". There's audio of his 25 minute 911 call, and videos of his cross-examination. I can't remember if he did interviews. There's an interview done, by 60 Minutes Australia, of his girlfriend, that might be informative, as well. There was an old game show, I do not recall the name ( “to tell the truth” maybe), that was rerun when I was a child that I would love to see the four of you play. They had 3 people come out and claim to be someone and the panel had to guess who was the real “inventor of spam” or “war vet” etc. everyone got to ask one question before guessing. They always had celebs as guesser and I’d like to see how you guys do.

Chris Watts instantly from the get go acts like and responds as if he is already in an interrogation room. Guilty people do this anyway so it's gotta be so hard on any police officer to hide their doubts in front of obvious guilty people. I wouldn't be able to be a cop very long.

Yes! To Chase's point on Chris Watts, the mere fact that he allowed for long silent pauses in conversation with the police, friend and neighbor, speaks volumes of guilt. Anybody else would be pounding the cops with questions on finding their missing family member, reaching out to family frantically, non-stop grief talking?

Fun fact: I first learned about Chase Hughes after reading the Ellipsis Manual after I had a relationship with a guy that just felt really….off. My ex had let it slip that he found that book and was using it to learn how to manipulate people into doing his bidding. (He’s quite a piece of work, with some serious Norman Bates vibes). The book itself was vile, and is basically a list of what NOT to do if you want to have an authentic, healthy connection with another human being. Imagine my surprise when I watched several videos from the Behavioral Panel and ended up feeling like Chase and Mark are the two most kind and trustworthy-appearing guys here. I don’t know what to do with this information, lol

Mark, you taught me something I've oddly wondered about over the years, which was how the other cheerleaders and I in high school could pick up so quickly when two girls started a cheer or dance. We had to either look at the crowd, scoreboard, or game, unless making plans with 1 girl for starting a cheer or dance. During football and basketball games those cheers or dances were random, but the whole team of 13 could pick it up quickly when 2 girls started a cheer or dance together. Of course we were aware to pay attention for this, but this makes sense now that we were seeing rhythm in our peripheral vision. And the rhythm of each cheer or dance had been practiced for years so once we knew which to do we could begin the cheer or dance quickly. This was so ingrained, that even now, 28 years later, I still have "nightmares" of being in front of the school and forgetting a cheer or dance when the other girls started one. LOL

Hi, just catching up now. Greg, you mentioned about 'that smell'. I'm no scientist, but worked for almost 20 years with severely abused and traumatised children & young people. From time to time, they would disclose elements of their abuse, often during are immediately following heightened, aggressive behaviour (requiring adult restraint and control to keep all safe). Without fail, every time a child made a disclosure, you could smell their fear. There is no other smell like it. I also experienced the same sort of thing when sitting in the court cells with a child/yp who had been given a custodial sentence. I wonder if its some kind of 'chemical defence mechanism' triggered by the brain to 'protect' the person (a bit like skunks). Anyway, love the shows. Happy New Year all

Re: language softening that Chase refers to with Patsy Ramsey and that I have heard talked about in some of their other videos I have to disagree. I know anecdotal examples don’t always bear up to the study or science, but I know that the use of harsh words or thinking about horrific experiences when a child is involved are sometimes beyond a parent or family members ability. There are some things that you know, or think you know, until you are in that situation and it’s nothing like you imagined. 🤷‍♀️

Chris Watts was such a vile person. I hate to give him any more airtime. I’m sure in many ways he is interesting to study but it’s difficult to think of anything redeeming about him. And I think he likes the attention. He’s probably made money off of books and who knows what else. He killed his wife and unborn child and those precious babies so mercilessly. I’m one of those people who likes to see the good in others and believes that as long as there’s life there’s hope but that is truly being put to the test when it comes to this man.
