💖 We love this product and wanted to share it with you. We have had our RV awnings blow up and down to the point they started to rip and we had to have our RV awnings replaced. It's pretty easy to strap your RV awnings so they don't blow up, but we have had them blow down too and both directions are hard on our RV awning arms. This awning reinforcement system by Save Awn is easy to install, easy to put up and take down. Save Awn awning reinforcement system is good to up to 25 mph. If you have awnings, we highly recommend this product to save your awnings for those surprise winds and gusts that come in. Great even at lower wind speeds just to be safe. Easy to remove and store when you pack up to move.
👍 DISCOUNT UNTIL AUG 31: Go to www.saveawn.com and use "WOW" coupon code and get $25 off.

Your Carefree of Colorado EZ zip shade will anchor your awning. I never had an issue with down drafts pushing it down; just pulling it up and my shade like the one you have does the job.

We tore awnings in the past due to wind. So far this is working well.
@J.Cameron.Stuart.Adams.
@J.Cameron.Stuart.Adams. 2 года назад
The first time I saw this on a unit they simply added a carabineer to the tie down bracket to hang lights. There was no need to buy the separate light bracket. I saw someone else simply added an eye hook, a carabineer, and 6in bungee (to allow some flex to avoid damage to the lights) to their awning arms for use with their lights no matter what position the awning is in. After seeing this I had stainless steel wrap around brackets made to attach stainless steel cables to the awning arms on both awnings. There is a smaller gauge wire to support string lights and LED lanterns. The outside heavier gauge wire is for either curtains, shade fabric or sections of the Carefree patio kit to block the sun or wind when the awning is not fully extended.....or, let her honest, when I'm too lazy to set up the entire patio kit. Once could easily make their own side panels to block the wind and or the neighbors view of your patio area. Now before adding tension and weight to your awning one must be certain the awning and the mounting hardware on the awning fixing it to the unit is all tight and secure. Older unit may be suffering from deterioration like rust and stripped screw holes from years of use. Not to mention many fail to properly maintain all of the moving parts and mounting hardware of their awning(s). Awning also need periodic adjustment to ensure the awning is square. If an awning is out of square premature degradation will take place. The last thing you want to do is secure a cable between arms which are no longer square. This added tension via a cable could cause the motor to fail and/or damage to mechanisms. Always remove anything other than a string of lights from your awning before extending or retracting. For those with wind sensors, it's best to disable the sensor (when remaining in the camp) or remove added weight (curtain, shade fabric, etc) before leaving camp or turning in for the night. Old sun damaged awning fabric could tear, typically along the seam where the awning attaches to the unit, when weight in the form of weighted panels (curtains, shade fabric, patio rooms, etc) is added. Replacement fabric is inexpensive and worth replacing prior to adding a cable system or other weight adding attachments. Again ensure the awning extends and retracts square to avoid damage or motor and/or mechanism failure. The added advantage of the Save AWN system is it transfers weight to the ground when properly set up. That said it is important to not let your guard down when wind is forecast. This system has a maximum capacity of 25mph. Wind gusts exceeding 25mph can appear out of nowhere. When sustained winds above at or above 15mph are forecast additional anchors should be added to Save AWN to ensure a gust exceeding 25mph do not damage your awning or unit or injury anyone. Despite being tied down strong gusts and heavy sustained winds can still cause damage to the awning fabric and where the awning is anchored to the unit. It's for this reason one should not try to add tie downs with the goal of keeping your awning out in winds exceeding 20mph. Sustained winds of 20moh will have gusts two or three times higher than the sustained number. A 60mph gust pushing down or lifting up on the extended awning is an extreme force. RV awning are not designed to take these forces. Use common sense and retract your awning when sustained winds pick up or are forecast when the camp is unoccupied. Lastly I suggest making the black poles and tie down ropes the Save AWN uses more visible via colored strips of Velcro attached at several points along the rope. And strip of UV resistant reflective tape on the poles. Or change the black rope for another color, making sure it is visible in low light, UV resistant, and meets or exceeds the strength properties of the original black rope. Black is very difficult to see, even in full sun. Going from being in the sun to shade makes seeing the rope even more difficult. At night the rope and poles would be invisible to you, your guests, and all animals. As would any portion of the anchor stake sticking out of the ground. Is tennis or brightly colored foam balls to cover the top of the stakes. Some use pool noodles to wrap ropes and cable with to make them visible. A few strips of color Velcro would look much better than pool noodles.
@WattsOnWheels
@WattsOnWheels 2 года назад
Thanks for all your comments. You certainly have evaluated and analyzed this product. We've seen the noodles on poles before too. We agree, if you leave your campsite, you should always retract your awnings. Stay safe out there.

For travel, do you remove the poles and store them? I’d think that if its windy enough to put the awning away the cords would whip around in the wind if they are left hanging loosely.

pretty sure the awnings on a 80's trailer we used to hve had the same system with poles and tent stake/rope to keep it up. then progress got rid of the poles/ropes and the tripping hazard with the disadvantage they were weak in wind. i have to say this improvement is offset by going back to the original problems. i also question who wants to sit outside on windy days under an stronger awning where wind gusts are still a problem anyways, perhaps i am risk adverse but if its windy i wont leave awnings out. so i am sort of confused with the product. looks like a family business so i would like to see them successful but i dont think this product is the answer.
@WattsOnWheels
@WattsOnWheels 2 года назад
While we were in Quartzsite, the wind blew all the time, but not enough to keep you from being outside. Even 10-15 mph will make your awnings flop up or down. So to keep the shade in the desert and keep the awnings from bouncing around, this worked very well for us.

@WattsOnWheels
@WattsOnWheels 2 года назад
Even 10 - 15 mph winds with an occasional gust up to 20 can make your awning jump up and down; but you still want the shade. You can with this set up. And sometimes you don't get wind notifications. Hang out in Quartzsite and you'd know what I mean....changes every 10 minutes. Some times people forget to bring their awnings in when they leave or think that they will only be gone for 30 minutes and nothing will happen. It's for peace of mind too.
@robh063
@robh063 2 года назад
$200 for a couple of poles, nylon rope and a bracket? And it still requires you to put your awning in if it gets too windy? No thanks. I'll save the money and just put my awning in when it gets windy err uhh wait a minute......
@WattsOnWheels
@WattsOnWheels 2 года назад
A bit pricey, but it only takes one unannounced microburst or just one gust out of no where to rip up your awning and cost thousands. But if you are a good weather watcher, just bring them in.
