Dude right there with you. It also is something that really needs to settle down on the skin. The opening is a bit confusing, but once it settles down the stuff is magic.
For me it’s best release of Lalique. Blue bottle and Voyage naming in the right place, because this is watery patchouli. It’s light, slightly creamy patchouli, little bit of greeness, but in the end i really liked that wetness feeling. I guess no pop’d cherry for that one? 👀 EDIT: heard Pop’d cherry in the end 😅
Would love to eventually get your take on the original too. I remember Kristo doing a review back in the day and Ash just mentioned it again in his latest video about recommendations. Never could convince myself to pick up a bottle though. Big fan of violet leaf (and Fahrenheit), but my Spidey sense just ain't tinglin' with that one. But if there's one nose I trust, it's yours Marc. Maybe something to look into for the spring.
Both of the Hommages are spectacular - the original is a very unique airy, dry violet and musk with a touch of oud light enough that it remains light and dry. Both need to be worn for sure.
Best Lalique fragrance ever in my opinion is ombré noir. Discontinued but fragrancesnet has the travel size atomizer for sale (that fig note is like no other). Definitely worth it.
This one definitely is for skin and not a strip. This as well as A*Men Pure Energy for me are in the same vain of "not a typical summer scent but just works".
Had I known it would be discontinued I would have bought backup bottles. It's a great release and worth twice what I paid for it. It wears airy and yet deep. Damn shame it's gone.
On skin it blooms a bit more, I find the papyrus note to be pretty strong in the opening and when it dies down its a bit "crystalline" in the sense of a slightly sweet patch.
damm..2 years ago I got it for £35 Ebay still got half a bottle left..was a blind buy after reading tons of reviews saying that it smells sea weedy metallic etc etc. or like what people from the future would be smelling of...I loved it from the first sniff ;))
