Thanks! I appreciate you taking time out of your life to help educate us on what is and how to collect coins etc. I have learned so much from you and that is priceless for the knowledge that you give freely to the people who have been trying to find out what money is about, also what it's worth!!! Thank you very much I'm so grateful that I have someone that I can get a good experience from and most importantly to help pass it along to others in my life!!! Thanks Shaun!!! Your the Man!!!
I'm extremely new to coin collecting and picky got into it because a customer of mine gave me close to $600 in rolled pennies and a jar of wheat cents. I've never been into coins but since some of these haven't been in circulation in over 30 years, I felt I owed it to myself and the community to go through them. I'm still working on it and thinking it'll take me a few months to go through them but I've already found a 1942 s printed on a Mexican Centavo. It's in very good condition and is a great motivating factor in continuing my hunt. :)
About 4 years ago I decided, on a lark, to try coin roll hunting a box of nickels from my local bank. It was the first and only time I ever did this with a box of nickels. I ended up finding a 1998-P Jefferson with a 145-degree die rotation! I could not friggin’ believe it. 🤗 I’ve been checking my change and collecting coins for almost 50 years and have never previously found a major die rotation so I was pretty excited. Sadly, the coin looked like it has spent some time at the bottom of a “make a wish” fountain, because it has a funky off-gray color. Anyway, I sent it off to ANACS to certify the die rotation and it graded out XF-45 “Cleaned” but I honestly think it was just environmental damage from water immersion because I’ve fished copper-nickel coins out of fountains before and this is how they look - dull and lifeless gray. Also, this is a extremely common date and there is no reason why anyone would have deliberately cleaned this common modern circulating coin. So, anyway, it is still a very cool coin to flip in your hand and see such a DRAMATIC major die rotation. I have no idea what it would fetch on eBay and sometimes I’m tempted to list it, but it was such a cool find that I have hung on to it because it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever pulled from circulation / coin roll hunting. Fun! 😃 Fun! 😃 Fun! 😃
Hello BlueRidges, I have Lincoln penny coins 1990-1992-1993-1994-1995-1996 D mark all of them. and I have penny 1979 coin with out mark.. double die.- Thank you for your interesting and clear information about coins
Im so glad you are going to be on whatnot. I've been on their auctions since December. I found allot of nice coins and it's kind of fun. Look forward to seeing your auctions. Thanks aka green crafter
Hey Shawn! I also have one of those 2009-P Duke Ellington quarters with the exact same anomaly! It has EXACTLY the same diagnostics that you described in your video here. I am very curious to hear what you come up with as far as to what it is! LOVE THE CONTENT! Keep up the great work man! =)
You need to add your show to your schedule. So we can highlight it and be notified. Otherwise we may forget. Can't wait to see how it goes. I've been contemplating a show myself but I'm to 😱
I would appreciate it if you do provide a follow up on the Duke Ellington quarter. I have the exact same one that I've been holding for a while because I can't figure out what it is. What did the seller list it as?
I also have one 2009-P Duke Ellington quarter I found in a bank box here in Vermont so I know they can be found here. I would be curious as to find out where else they're being found. NICE SCORE THERE SILVER ALERT! I have a feeling these might be worth a lot more in the future once they gain in popularity!
Thank you for your knowledge...I found a 1993-p clash die..with Column in Obverse and a Nickel struck on a One cent PLANCHET....also and many Double Die coins... thanks again..for your Knowledge!
Being offered is a 1993 D quarter with numerous black stained ink marks on the front and back. Please carefully study the photos I will send upon request.Extra/fine + condition $350 OBO
Please explain to me how the FG initials get "abraided" off of the reverse of the Kennedy half when the FG initials are typically raised which means the initials that are on the actual die would already be recessed meaning if it was scrubbed out then there would be a big lump there. In my mind the only way this happens is a grease error. To be fair you aren't the 1st person I've here say they basically scrubbed the initials away.
Talking about the cud error on cents and showing the cud and the weakened area on the other side helped me figure out which way to turn penney to get it to turn the way I wanted to find date.
I have all kinds of coins around 17 lbs from pennies to dollars. DDO's and DDR's, wheat to the latest. I want to sell it but don't know what to do. Any advice?
in RU-vid somehow coin prices is so exagerated that I think it is inflated to have an audience reading it for money earned in thumbs up or subscription. However not all is doing it though.
I inherited coins from my late father in law & wife. I would just like to sell them all but where is the best place to know the value. One example are 31 pennies with close AM, wheat & other dates and silver coins.
Hi Scott from Tennessee I've had a 1909 for several years but today I started looking at it good and the reverse of it is crazy it has the letter of the O is so much Cooper it touches the N in United the t is missing in United the S in states is so big and has a clog of Cooper in the top of the S of is crazy it has the biggest doubling ive ever seen we're should I send it to are is it worth missing with I promise there's not another one like it and it's in good condition
Wow, I like the 1922 no mint mark. I'm off that day, I really dont download other sites! Just because it's you and you've been great to us! I will try to check you out!
I have a 2013 Dime that was stamped with two different stamps. Who can i talk to about selling it. It is a extremely odd dime. I know it is worth some money I just want to find out how much.
Shaun, why is that (17:10) a die crack and not a cud, pls? I fail to see any crack, but it does appear as raised metal. And looks like something I see everyday. Whether, I find it on the Mint mark, or any of the smaller fint lettering. Thanks
I haven't watched the video yet, I just started it but I was reading through the comments and saw yours and thought I'd offer my very limited knowledge in case it helped. I haven't seen the video yet but I wanted to share this just in case. I was confused too as to what classifies a cud vs a die chip and I finally understood that cud:s are in the rim only. So if it's on the rim it's a cud if it's not on the rim it's a chip. I hope I helped, lol if not I hope I at least didn't waste your time 😀
I'm still new in coin collecting and I'm not sure of a starting point for the pricing they're are coins that are in worse condition than mine and they are asking for crazy money I also have a lot of 1982 Penny's small & large dates that I'm confused on the Bronz copper part remember I'm still learning thanks
I know how you maybe feeling about 1982 pennies. 1982 and 1983 are the transition years, as you may know. Drives me bonkers; borderline obsessive weighing ‘m and looking for that certain shaped ‘2’ seems key. Good luck. 🍀 From 🌺 🌺 ciao.
@@punalerma8017 I'm 65% sure I have 2 Bronze I'm just not 100% and I need to be 100% to sell 1 and keep 1 because I have a conscience there's only color to go by that's the hard part and it would be so cool to find a 1983 grams Good luck to you too hope you find your pot of gold 🥇 speaking of gold I found a 98 & 99 One Cent looks like someone touched them after eating Puffy Cheetos that's how vibrant they look they're just beautiful I can't show a picture because RU-vid won't allow it
I was hoping that they would change the shield on the reverse it's just plain like the 1793 reverse just plain I loved the Lincoln memorial had a lot more character ✌️🎉⭐
SHAUN, COINS FIRST,ALL ELSE WILL FOLLOW IN MY LIFE ,YEA MY GIRLS OK WITH MY ADDICTION TO COINS,BUT HER COIN IS JUST AS IMPORTANT, YOU KNOW MEN NEED THAT SPECIAL COIN
I don't understand how some of these coins are going for as much as they are and I have a bunch that look like a bunch of the coins on these videos and a bunch of other videos I have a bunch with doubling but on a bunch of other videos some of these coins wouldn't be worth anything and then I see videos with coins that look like mine and they get sold off for a bunch of money so part of me is confused LOL so if I started showing a bunch of my stuff that would mean I would be a little wealthy right now
Shaun, have you thought abt. or already experimented with having some type of intrusive, small pointer device to highlight what area you are speaking abt. When describing a coin or pointing out a flaw/ error. Sometimes, you lose me, or I can't see what you are referencing. Not often but, I would find it alot easier to follow along. You know. For us, "slow" folk. 😁
That looks like a mint error rake damage that's my guess but they did look like impressions under the keys remember what a rake can do it can break the edge off. The rakes would almost have to be indestructable billions of attempts will be made to remove coins from the anvil that in itself is hard to believe
