Thanks. I keep getting advised to look into using pinterest for my biz but not from anyone who uses it or knows how. This gave me a place to start. Much appreciated.
love this video and how in-depth your tips are. My pinterest tips are more focused on small business owners with blogs or product stores but I love your take on the handmade shops strategy!
I have subscribed after watching three of your videos! You're videos are simple to understand and your voice is soothing and interesting. I am very interested in switching to Pinterest as most of my products on my Etsy shop are very pinterestesque! Thank you for inspiring me to not give up on selling my home made products, because of you I am going to give it another try!
Sweet Deborah, so happy I've found your channel! All your tips are so helpful, not to mention your kind personality 😚 Thank you for this video, (I'm currently binge watching all of your videos to be honest haha) xx
So glad you said to not start tailwind before you are ready. I made that mistake and got so overwhelmed. I’ve decided to pause my tailwind and go back to the basics. Love the template idea, I had implemented that some but also got the overwhelm of over 100 products to promote. Wish I would have seen this 2 months ago when I started Pinterest.
Hi Emily! I know Tailwind can get overwhelming. I had to take my time learning it but now it is very easy to manage. It just takes time and it's super beneficial :) happy to help and give tips if you plan on using it!
This was so informative & I love that I got so many tips in a concise amount of time. I have been using Pinterest personally on a business account. I have a much clearer plan in mind. Thank you so much!
I am glad it's helping, once you have templates everything is much more efficient and it doesn't feel quite as time-consuming to create pins for your new products, it just becomes a part of the listing process.
Thank you for this information! I would love a more in depth video about Pinterest, including screen examples. Also, would love help understanding the analytics page.
Hi Renea! Absolutely I love Pinterest and it drives a lot of traffic to my Etsy shop. Are you currently using it? Do you have specific questions on it? I might be able to help :)
Love your tips!! I'm obsessed with Pinterest - it has made a huge difference in my shop. However I don't utilize group boards personally because I find Tailwind Tribes is already super effective :) Loving your content!
Thank you for your awesome video's! Love how you explain everything! So clear. In this particular video I really missed that you explain the connection from Etsy to Pinterest. I have a new Etsy Shop and I have set up a Pinterest account. However I do not yet understand how to use Pinterest. How to efficiently create a pin, how to find the right boards for my pins, should I create my own board, etc. so you lost me in this video. I am searching for information now on just that before I will have to come back to your video and finish listening to it. However you are my favorite online teacher :-)!
Thank you for your feedback, Engayla! I will think about recording a video about Pinterest for Etsy sellers specifically :-) As for other topics, Pinterest itself has great guides and you can check them out. Hope it helps!
This is so much information in a concise and detailed manner, and most importantly not overwhelming! Thank-you so much, I'm now more confident in Pinterest for my shop soon. Quick question: would it be appropriate to save relevant pins from other people onto some of my boards that are less about my products and more about my product lifestyle, or should all my pins be pinned by me? Example, if I sell watercolour botanical illustrations and have a sustainable eco-lifestyle mindset, could I save pins (not my own) of herbal tea recipes, infographics about endangered plants that need protection, posters about wildlife organization events in my area, or even illustrations of similar artists I admire? Or should I create this content myself and save these pins to say a personal Pinterest account not related to my business. Sorry if this question is confusing!
If you know your audience is interested in these topics (and bonus points if you can tie them to your products) it's always the best idea to create this content yourself and pin it on your business Pinterest profile on the boards you mentioned. This is an ideal world though, I know it's not always possible / makes sense in a specific situation. So back to your question - you can pin other people's content, but it's not as beneficial as it used to be. Some situations in which it may be a good idea: to populate your new board with strong pins with relevant keywords (so Pinterest knows right away what type of content is going to be on that board), if you don't have enough of your own pins to keep the board active / interesting but you still want to keep it and for reciprocity (for example if you're a part of a Tailwind Community). Other than that, focusing on your own pins (on these relevant topics or just for your own products) will always be the better option. Hope it helps! - Alicja from Team Tizzit
I am new to your channel- thanks for this video! I understand your analogy about creating boards for healthy lifestyle etc if you are selling- as you say- natural, organic lotions, but how would I do that with handmade jewelry? The only thing I can think of is outfits, so I'm working on that but other than that can't figure out what kind of board jewelry would be a part of besides obviously just jewelry. I'm also a bit confused as to why boards are important because whenever I see a pin that I like I just click on it, and it takes me to whatever site that pin is from- it doesn't take me to a board, so....? Pardon my ignorant questions- I'm new to marketing with pinterest! 😁 Thanks for any thoughts!
We actually have a course that goes way more in-depth about how to use Pinterest right here ➡️ www.hq.tizzit.co/pinterest-marketing-for-handmade-shops/ ☺️ hope this is helpful! - L
Thanks, Deb. The tips are great. And I have one question after all of them. Is it possible to use Pinterest for my Etsy shop without blogging? I'm not a native speaker of English and it would be so difficult for me to write posts in a blog, SEO optimization, etc. Thanks.
Hi Elena! Yes absolutely this is what I do! I claimed my Etsy shop pin directly from Etsy to my Pinterest account. It's now driving almost 50% of my traffic to my Etsy shop. Have you given this a try yet?
Great tips Deborah! I loved everything. I design and make leather handbags and I currently have a few of them and im finding it hard to put out new content about my products consistently. What's your advice? Thanks Deborah!
This was a very nice video specially for someone that used to be an active user but never thought of becoming a platform to sell. Do you have any videos regarding the best strategist to promote with ads, is it worth it?
Hi Hugo! I personally don't use Pinterest ads because there's so many ways to get organic traffic on there. I've been using it for just over 4 months and I have over 1 million monthly viewers already. Are you currently using it now for your business?
I'm a big fan of yours. 1 question: honestly, I do not tend to repin other pins, and I just wanna focus on my own contents but I am scared if I keep doing this and risk my account getting suspended as a spammy account. Please tell me do I really need to repin other pins or not, and if I need to do it, how many minimum repins I must do. Besides, I want to create 10 new pins per day and direct them to my website, so that means I will use the same URL for 10 pins per day, and in this case, there are some Pinterest videos outside that says you should not use the same link for more than 5 pins you create per day so how I am supposed to get traffic. Do you think it brings any trouble for my account?
Can you show me any strategy to solve this? Because I make 10 new pins, and I want to get traffic from each. does it mean I have to leave some of the pins without a website link
Hello Deb! I have a single board that worked great 2 years ago for my traffic to Etsy. But for personal reasons I stopped selling on Etsy and maintaining Pinterest. Now I'm trying to pin again and my new pins are not repinned as before. Should I create a new account or board? Thanks.
Good question! Starting a new account probably won't change anything, so you likely need to make changes to the boards or pins themselves. Check out this course for more tips www.hq.tizzit.co/pinterest-marketing-for-handmade-shops/ :) hope this helps! - L
Tnx, you are perfect. What does this mean when people keep saying repin others pins. Does it mean I have to repin others' pins to the group boards I'm a member of or save others' pins in one of my own related boards? I'm confused. Please help me.
Hi, thanks for the video When you say at 4:46 that the product could fit in any of those 4 boards. Do you mean that it should be pinned in 1 of those boards? Or should it be pinned in all 4 of the boards? If I should pin it in all 4 boards, can I pin it all at the same time in the 4 boards?
Hi there! You can totally do that! There's nothing wrong with it. I personally like to switch up my descriptions and titles at least so that I'm experimenting with different SEO and seeing what I can potentially rank for. Hope that makes sense :)
Hi there! I can help you if you are still stuck on this? :) Although I don't join group boards because I find Tailwind Tribes to be much more beneficial, I know how to join them. Let me know if you still need help on this!
@@gion1703 sure! So go to Pinterest and click on the search bar at the top. You will see a little drop down menu just to the right of the search bar. Select "boards" and then search keywords that are within your niche. So for example, I sell wall art so I would search "home decor". A bunch of boards will pop up. Click on one you want to join and you will see an option to request to join. Hope this helps!
Hi, I’d like to claim my Etsy shop as a business Acct. Instead of losing all my personal boards - is there a way to transfer saved personal boards into a separate account ?
You keep on talking about BOARDS, what the heck are BOARDS? I wish someone in these videos actually made a tutorial and spent less time selling their YT videos so they make more money on RU-vid. Instead, they give you info generic info, not tutorial but content JUST to sell their video son RU-vid
Hi Juan! Boards are where you save, collect, and organize your Pins and you can read more about them here: help.pinterest.com/en/business/article/create-a-board
