I don’t know if I’d say that Silence is THE most powerful spell, but I do think it’s a top notch spell, and easily one of the most powerful/impactful ritual spells. My only real disagreement would be that point within range vs point you can see does not overcome total cover limitations to spell casting, it essentially just means you can cast it while blinded, in the dark, or otherwise unable to SEE your target. It’s still foiled by solid objects. A fact that limits its power a little. Solid little vid, thanks!

Yeah, I can certainly see if you are in a building, enclosed area, you could rule that. It is defintiely a RAW versus RAI. In my mind I envision a player hiding behind a wall or similar. As a DM I would rule that you know that spot that you picked and can cast it, but I would not argue against your interpretation either. Thanks for the comment!

@@progressiveDND I can definitely see why the desire would be there to pop the spell through the wall. If it's outside, one thing that often gets forgotten is the option to cast up above the wall and let the spell cover the area down below. Still an awesome spell, even if you're a stickler for RAW. Keep up the great vids!

Sleep spell use to be the "I Win Spell", because a sleeping foe is a dead foe. Called shot (player stating they want to attack head, neck, wing, etc.) normally made at dis-advantage (roll twice take lowest number), will now be rolled at advantage canceling the disadvantage thus making one normal roll against the sleeping target. If it makes contact the target loses the wing, neck, or whatever vital point was aimed at, usually, not always (cause some monsters are weird in my game especially) un-alive-ing the target.

I could definitely see that as a dangerous use of Sleep...for that person. Drop silence on that sleeping enemy you finish them off in more ways. I guess in space, and silence, no one can hear you scream. 😀
