THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Our company changed into New Microsoft Outlook with no tutorial at all provided to the employees. This makes a lot of difference to me so again, thank you!
It's extremely simple for most modern workers especially while they are connected to the Internet to look up information, it may be a competency issue.
Thanks, this class saved me! I panicked when it would not let me go back, even though it promised to let me return to classic outlook. This helped a lot.
I switched to the new outlook and it never ported my other 2 email accounts over. I tried adding them and that didn't work either so I did research online and thousands of people are finding the same problem. It won't let you add other email accounts from other domains. Any Ideas? Basically this version is still being developed and we are the guinea pigs it's rubbish at this point in time.
This is well presented and I will be referencing it several times. On another topic which be very helpful is an explanation of merging contact lists. Every time Microsoft updates, it doesn’t include all my contacts. Many time even going through my other contact list does not find it. How do I retrieve these lost contacts?
How about how to backup an email to PST, how to restore an email if you have PST backup, and how to recall sent emails in the new Outlook - hoping to add those topics to your next video. Love from PH❤
This was an extraordinarily helpful video. I have been using Outlook for years and really found this helpful because there are some robust features which I have not been using. Perhaps that is because they are new additions. I know that I will watch this several more times and practice these new features. Thank you for your time and effort to patiently go through the new features In Microsoft!
Im trying to get my head around New Outlook so thanks for this. I have used Outlook for years and find the new version just gives me a lot of features i neither need or want and has lost many user-friendly features that are really useful. I guess we have been forced down route so that Microsoft now have access to more of our personal data 🤨
Thank you so much! The new outlook seemed unrecognizably different to me especially with all the changes to the ribbons and tabs and options but your video helped make it less alien to me now.
I am a bit disappointed that they removed the Quick Access Toolbar (as far as I can tell) as that is something I use daily. Also, they have simplified the email fields, in the old version you could select the fields you wanted to see such as size, reminder, and attachment as well as the ability to do conditional formatting for the emails. It looks like they have taken away that really nice feature. I am hoping they add it back soon.
Thank you for this helpful tutorial for the new Outlook. The one action I was able to do in the classic Outlook that I haven't found to do in the new Outlook is the ability to insert an Outlook file. In the classic, I was able to attach a previous note I sent or someone else (E.G. meeting minutes from the previous week). Now when I hit Insert, this option for Outlook is no longer there. Thank you for helping to solve this for me :)
I won't be switching anytime soon. No support for *.pst files is a show stopper for me. Also missing is the status bar at the bottom, and the Quick Access toolbar at the top.
Hi Jamie…. You have A LOT of unanswered questions in these comments. I’ve picked-off a couple, but you could prolly do them all in a fairly short space of time? I think your subs are looking for support. With My Best Wishes, Bill.
Hi, Is there a way to change the secondary email address which they ask to provide if you ever get locked out of your initial account? They usually send an email code to that secondary address. I'd like to close that secondary address since I don't use it anymore and replace it with another one. How can I do this? Thanks
I liked it a lot, good guide. Is it possible to unify different inboxes? In one list like in Apple Mail? Without having to click on each individual e-mail account? I use both platforms at work, outlook is way more productive but I can't dial this function I had that on my old Windows mail before switching.
Thanks for the introduction. I have a few questions I'm hoping you (or someone else) can answer: 1. I heard Outlook is now free (no 365 subscription needed). Is that true? 2. Is it only for Windows 11, or also for Windows 10? 3. Is it a 'full' Outlook version? I.e., it supports POP3, IMAP, and local PST files?
Great video. Thank you. I'm switching from Mail and Calendar which I love. Outlook is challenging to me. Tasks opens in a tab in Edge and not in Outlook. I can't figure out why or how to get it in Outlook.
Is there a way to set the send and receive timing in the new outlook as we had in the previous version? I want to send and receive every minute. I cannot find it in settings. Thank you.
Very helpful. When I renewed my MS 365 subscription I lost my old Outlook and had this new Outlook. I perfer the old version. For one thing the new one does not have the same spell check system. The old Outlook you could compose an email and hit send. If you had misspelled words it would stop and ask you to correct. The new Outlook just sends the email bad spelling and all. It also lost my contacts or email list. And my signature block
Hello, I have a question that I don’t think was answered in the video: Does the new Outlook have a way to transfer ownership - ie. allow someone else to take over as the organizer - for a meeting? Currently in the old version I have to cancel the meeting series and let someone else schedule it, but it would be much more convenient if I could send the meeting to someone and give them the option to take over as the organizer. Thanks in advance for any and all feedback!
I just got a new computer that only has the new Outlook and a lot of the options in the ribbon are grayed out so I can't access the Quick Steps, categories, etc. How can I change that? Thanks so much.
Small question what is the reason on the new look outlook , I am not about to sends and receives email but when a snitch back to the old one everything work great sending and receiving , can you help with your experience ......thanks
I am interested in making the "boss rule" work on the new outlook. It use to work on the old one but I found out it does not transfer to the new version.
Wonderful tutorial, thank you. PLEASE HELP ! The new outlook email no longer displays unread email count in the accounts list. I have to open each account one at a time in order to see if it contains any new/unread emails. I've tried for hours to fix this to no avail. Is there a fix for this? I'm getting close to ditching new outlook over this single issue! I literally have to open each account to see if any new mail has arrived! Crazy I say ! ! !
Hello, I had option to pull the calender to my right panel, that gave a quick preview of what's my date is about and I was also joining the calls through that , now in the new outlook how do I do that ?
Hi I was wondering coz I am using my office email and im using outlook on Microsoft 365, I don't have an option for (Add account +) below the folders on outlook, does that mean i dont have an option to add?
When a new email comes in, I see the notification pop up but the email itself does not appear in my inline emails. I have to click on focused at the top of the inbox to refresh and then the email pops in. Is there a setting that is off?
Just getting used to Outlook. When I viewed AOL on their site, as I viewed the emails they automatically went to "old email" so I no longer saw them unless I changed them back to "unread". Under Outlook even when I have read them the emails stay in the email list displayed. Can I get Outlook to work like the AOL home page?
In the Outlook calendar, past events keep deleting the next day. For example, I had 3 events yesterday, but when I loaded Outlook calendar today, yesterday is empty and the 3 events were deleted. Any way to tell Outlook calendar to keep all past events? Thank you :)
Now Jamie I have the new outlook on my laptop and desktop machines but I do not have the screen view with the File option in the top ribbon. Also I keep getting hundreds of requests to link my Gmail account to the list of email options but try as I may trying through Settings to link the Gmail just will not work. So any suggestions would be most helpful.
So, I bounced back and forth between Windows Mail and a freeware package called Thunderbird. I'm in the process of exploring new outlook. I've watched your beginner's class. There is a LOT to like about Windows Outlook! I have three accounts setup. Only one of those accounts shows my contacts list under PEOPLE. And neither shows the icon for GROUPS anywhere. Do I have to duplicate the contacts for each mail account I manage with new Outlook? And why don't I see GROUPS below PEOPLE?
Hi Jamie, one other thing worth knowing. How do I turn on/off the AutoCorrect spell checker facility on the New Outlook. How is this possible without the File Tab then Options?
The Editor become grey out, and I can not send attachment as they go into into the message not at the top ,and it organise a particular message by moving it message into a folder I created I have ticked 'don't sort out my emails''.Also my other account disappears I can not access that used to appear at the top , thank you
Changes made to Outlook account contacts in Outlook (New) app does not directly sync with Contacts in Android phone (my Google Contacts has both contacts sync-Google and Outlook accounts) . It will sync only once the sync is complete inside Outlook for Android and I do that by opening the contact in Outlook for Android briefly and seeing the change. BTW how do you get a new message window pop out every time on a separate window?
how do I change the default reminder time in an event. I googled and it says to start by going to "file" I don't have this option? And I don't see where I can change this under "settings" "Calendar". Just gives me standard meeting time and duration but not reminder default
The other question I have. When I open an email. I want it to automatically show on a different Monitor. Is this a setting change? In the "OLD" version...if I moved it to the screen one time, it would automatically stay this way. This isn't working this way in the NEW Outlook.
Hi! Do you know why does the email I sent from outlook to gmail get messed up? It's like the arrangement of the email on outlook get messed up when I open/received it on my Gmail.
question, when I try and add a other accountvit asks for imap or password is it my password where my email server is, or the Microsoft password because then it asks for my email password very confusing. second question, I already setup that same account under another ms account, I got confused because ms is so complicated. I don't use that email in outlook it's just there, but now I realize after watching your video I need to set it up under my ms account. Is there a way to remove that other account
I’m wondering about spelling and grammar in an email, I have Windows 11 and new to it and learning it has been hard - when I’m writing something I spell words sometimes incorrectly and I notice I don’t have spell check or able to correct those errors- I noticed Editor but it’s not lite up like the rest how do I get editor
Can someone please help me with the next topic. In the old Outlook i could edit the subject from incoming mail. How do i do this in the new outlook. Very helpfull to add project information to the subject...
