Awesome educational video! Now I'm just trying to install Windows 7 and dual boot with Linux with the option to use a Linux live usb from time to time like MX Linux. I have an Asus Vivobook 15 X512DA with a Ryzen 7 3700u CPU. I was considering modifying the Bios with AMI tools to allow such configuration. What would you advice on newer laptops that do not have the "Launch CSM" option in the Bios to allow booting Linux from a usb? Thank you in advance! 🙏🏼

Hi! Greate video! How can i chande BIOS firmware Ext.Func. strings value?
@HetmanRecovery
@HetmanRecovery Год назад
Hi! Changing the values of the Ext.Func. lines in the BIOS firmware can be dangerous and can lead to irreversible consequences such as system inoperability. If you are unsure of your skills, it is best not to change these values. However, if you still want to change these values, you need to go into the BIOS settings, find the Ext.Func. line you need and change its value. How to do this depends on the model and manufacturer of your computer, so I can't give specific instructions without more information. Typically, to access the BIOS setup, you will need to press a certain key (usually Delete, F2, F10, or F12) while the computer is turned on. After that, you should find the Ext.Func. line you need and change its value according to the manufacturer's instructions. But, again, remember that this can be dangerous and is not recommended if you don't know what you are doing.

amibcp doesnt open my bios motherboard : intel dq57tm
@HetmanRecovery
@HetmanRecovery 11 месяцев назад
If AMIBCP (American Megatrends Inc. BIOS Configuration Program) is not opening your BIOS for your Intel DQ57TM motherboard, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem: Check Compatibility and Version: Make sure you are using the correct version of AMIBCP that is compatible with your BIOS version and motherboard model. Using an incompatible version can lead to issues. Administrator Rights: Run AMIBCP with administrative privileges. Right-click on the AMIBCP executable and select "Run as administrator." Antivirus/Firewall: Disable your antivirus or firewall temporarily, as they might be blocking AMIBCP from accessing or modifying the BIOS. BIOS Lock: Some motherboards have a BIOS lock that prevents unauthorized modification. Check your motherboard manual to see if such a lock exists and whether there are any steps to disable it temporarily. BIOS Configuration: Ensure that your BIOS is properly configured to allow external tools like AMIBCP to modify settings. Look for options related to "BIOS Lock" or "Configuration Write Protection" in your BIOS settings. BIOS Update: Ensure that your motherboard's BIOS is up-to-date. An outdated BIOS might have compatibility issues with certain tools. Corrupted AMIBCP Installation: Reinstall AMIBCP to ensure that the installation files are not corrupted. Compatibility Mode: Try running AMIBCP in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows if you're using a newer version of Windows. Other BIOS Editors: If AMIBCP continues to have issues, consider using alternative BIOS editing tools that might be compatible with your motherboard. Contact Support: If none of the above solutions work, consider reaching out to Intel's support or the motherboard manufacturer's support for further assistance. Always exercise caution when working with your motherboard's BIOS, as improper changes can lead to system instability or even hardware damage. Make sure you have a backup of your BIOS settings before attempting any modifications. Remember that modifying your BIOS can have significant consequences, and it's recommended to proceed only if you have a clear understanding of what you're doing and why you're making the changes.

Do you know if it is possible to undervolt 13th gen H series laptops that are obviously locked by altering the firmware ? I asked a few people and they even provided me with a source "powermonkey" and said it worked on intel ADL H series. *Intel added microcode to prevent non HK and HX 12-13th gen and now meteor lake from undervolting.

I have dell vostro 3400 laptop with intel i3 gen 11 processor, please give me a custom bios download link or tell me how can i enable legeacy boot mode because my bios doesn't support it.
@HetmanRecovery
@HetmanRecovery 3 месяца назад
I can't provide a custom BIOS download link, as it's not safe to download BIOS updates from unofficial sources due to the risk of malware or compatibility issues. However, if your BIOS doesn't support legacy boot mode, you might be limited in your options. Here are some steps you can take: Check for Official BIOS Updates: Visit Dell's official support website and search for BIOS updates for your specific laptop model. Sometimes, manufacturers release BIOS updates that add new features or options. If there's an update available, follow the instructions provided to install it. Contact Dell Support: If your BIOS doesn't support legacy boot mode and there are no updates available, you can contact Dell's customer support for assistance. They may be able to provide further guidance or suggest alternative solutions. Explore Alternative Boot Options: If you need to boot from a legacy device (such as a CD/DVD or older operating systems), you might be able to use a workaround, such as creating a bootable USB drive with a tool like Rufus configured for legacy boot. Consider Compatibility: Before attempting any modifications, consider whether enabling legacy boot mode is absolutely necessary. Many modern operating systems and software are designed to work with UEFI boot, and using legacy boot mode may limit compatibility with newer hardware and features. Remember, modifying BIOS settings carries risks, and you should proceed with caution. Make sure to back up important data before making any changes, and always follow official instructions provided by the manufacturer.

@HetmanRecovery
@HetmanRecovery 8 месяцев назад
Flashing a modded BIOS carries risks and can potentially damage your hardware if not done correctly. It's important to proceed with caution, and I recommend following the steps carefully. Keep in mind that modifying your BIOS can void your warranty and may lead to instability or other issues. If you're encountering a "BIOS is write-protected" error, it could be due to several reasons, and it's crucial to address these issues before attempting to flash the BIOS. Here are some steps you can take: Check for Hardware Write Protection: Some motherboards have physical write protection mechanisms, such as a switch or jumper. Check your motherboard's manual to ensure there isn't any hardware-based write protection in place. Update Your AFU Tool: Make sure you're using the latest version of the AFU tool. Go to the official ASUS website or the motherboard manufacturer's website to download the latest version of the AFU tool compatible with your motherboard. Run as Administrator: Right-click on the AFU412 executable and select "Run as Administrator" to ensure that you have the necessary permissions to modify the BIOS. Disable Secure Boot: If your system has Secure Boot enabled, try disabling it in the UEFI/BIOS settings. Secure Boot can prevent unauthorized modifications to the system firmware. Check for BIOS Protection Features: Some motherboards have features like BIOS Flash Protection or BIOS Write Protection. Check your motherboard's manual and UEFI/BIOS settings to see if any such features are enabled. If so, disable them before attempting to flash the BIOS. Backup Original BIOS: Before attempting any BIOS modification, it's crucial to back up your original BIOS. This backup can be essential for recovery in case something goes wrong. Many flashing tools provide an option to save the current BIOS image. Revert to Stock BIOS: If you're currently using a modded BIOS, try reverting to the stock BIOS before attempting to flash the modded version. This might involve using a BIOS recovery feature or flashing the original BIOS from a backup. Always follow the instructions provided by the motherboard manufacturer and the tools you're using. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with the process, it's advisable to seek assistance from forums or communities dedicated to modding and flashing BIOS. Remember that modifying the BIOS has risks, and you should only proceed if you fully understand the process and accept the potential consequences. Incorrect BIOS flashing can lead to a non-functional system, and recovery may require professional assistance or hardware replacement.

Can you Kindly do a Video on, Removing the wifi whitelist from Lenovo G series laptops, it will be a huge help for people still use those computers. thank you!
@HetmanRecovery
@HetmanRecovery 9 месяцев назад
Please note that modifying your laptop's hardware can void warranties and potentially cause damage, so proceed with caution and at your own risk. Additionally, it's important to respect any local laws and regulations regarding hardware modifications. Here are the general steps to remove the Wi-Fi whitelist from a Lenovo G series laptop: Research Your Laptop Model: First, make sure you know the exact model of your Lenovo G series laptop. This information is crucial because different models may have different methods for accessing and modifying the BIOS/UEFI settings. Check BIOS/UEFI: Most laptops with Wi-Fi whitelists have this information stored in the BIOS/UEFI settings. You will need to access these settings by restarting your laptop and pressing a specific key during boot (e.g., F2, F12, Del). The key to access these settings varies by laptop model. Access Advanced BIOS/UEFI Settings: Once inside the BIOS/UEFI settings, you may need to enter a password or perform some other verification. Look for an option called "Advanced," "Advanced Settings," or "Advanced Configuration." Locate Wi-Fi Whitelist: Inside the advanced settings, look for an option related to the Wi-Fi whitelist. It may be labeled as "Wireless LAN Card Control," "Whitelist BIOS," or something similar. This is where you can usually modify or disable the whitelist. Modify the Whitelist: Depending on your laptop and BIOS/UEFI version, you may have options to disable the whitelist entirely, remove specific devices from the list, or replace the existing Wi-Fi card with one that is not on the whitelist. Save Changes and Exit: After making the necessary changes, save the BIOS/UEFI settings and exit. Your laptop will restart. Install New Wi-Fi Card: If you've disabled the whitelist entirely, you should be able to install a new Wi-Fi card without any issues. Be sure to install a compatible Wi-Fi card that fits your laptop. Driver Installation: After installing the new Wi-Fi card, you may need to install drivers for it. Download the appropriate drivers from Lenovo's website or the Wi-Fi card manufacturer's website. Please note that these steps are general guidelines and can vary depending on your specific laptop model and BIOS/UEFI version. It's essential to do thorough research and proceed with caution, as making incorrect changes in the BIOS/UEFI settings can potentially render your laptop inoperable. If you're uncomfortable with these steps or unsure about your laptop's compatibility, it's a good idea to seek help from a professional or consult Lenovo's support resources. Additionally, consider the potential warranty implications of hardware modifications.

@@HetmanRecovery sorry for my bad grammar. how about hp laptops like pavillion notebook 14 ab111x? I would like to use an eGPU but it doesn't read the GPU itself. My only options are modifying BIOS or to use nando setup 1.35 for eGPU. thank you sir.
@HetmanRecovery
@HetmanRecovery 7 месяцев назад
No problem about the grammar! Regarding your question about the HP Pavilion Notebook 14-ab111x and using an eGPU (external GPU), it's important to note that not all laptops support external GPUs, and even if they do, the process might not be straightforward. In general, laptops need to have a Thunderbolt 3 port to support external GPUs easily. If your laptop doesn't have a Thunderbolt 3 port, it might be more challenging to set up an eGPU. As for modifying the BIOS or using tools like Nando Setup 1.35, these methods can be risky and may void your warranty. Modifying the BIOS can also lead to system instability if not done correctly. Here are some steps you can consider: Check for Thunderbolt 3 support: Ensure that your laptop has a Thunderbolt 3 port. If it does, you have a better chance of successfully using an eGPU. Check for eGPU compatibility: Some laptops and BIOS versions may have restrictions on using external GPUs. Check with HP's support or forums to see if your specific model has any known issues or restrictions. Update BIOS and drivers: Make sure your laptop's BIOS and GPU drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updates can provide better compatibility with external GPUs. Check eGPU enclosure compatibility: Ensure that the eGPU enclosure you're using is compatible with your laptop. Some eGPU enclosures work better with certain laptops or may have specific requirements. Consult forums and communities: Check online forums or communities dedicated to eGPU setups. Other users may have similar laptops and could provide insights or workarounds for your specific model. If all else fails, and you're comfortable with the risks, you may explore advanced methods like modifying the BIOS or using tools like Nando Setup. However, proceed with caution and be aware of the potential consequences. Remember that using external GPUs on laptops is not always a guaranteed or officially supported feature, and compatibility can vary between models and manufacturers. Always check the specific documentation and support resources for your laptop and eGPU enclosure.@@bertmiranda7111

i have a cm 1831 motherboard, it is a asus m5a78lm/usb3 motherboard but with all the advanced settings hidden. on the board it says m5a78lm-usb3. but in bios it says cm1831. i have updated the cm1831 to the latest 0903 version which is from 2012. but if find the latest version for the board name its 2101 from 2015. it is the same board, same pictures and everything else, just the bios is like locked stuff is hidden, i would like to install the normal/unlocked bios so that i can do a small underclock/undervolt for my fx6300 as the vrm is heating up in summer, and sometimes the pc freezes because it goes to 60*C sometimes, maybe i need to remove the vrm heatsink and reapply thermal paste or something as well.
@HetmanRecovery
@HetmanRecovery 11 месяцев назад
It sounds like you are trying to modify your motherboard's BIOS to access advanced settings and make adjustments like underclocking and undervolting. However, I must caution you that modifying the BIOS can be risky and may lead to unintended consequences, including bricking your motherboard if not done correctly. If you're experiencing temperature issues with your CPU and VRMs (Voltage Regulator Modules), there are a few steps you can take before attempting to modify the BIOS: Thermal Paste Replacement: Your idea of reapplying thermal paste to the VRM heatsink is a good one. Over time, thermal paste can degrade, leading to poor heat transfer. Carefully remove the heatsink, clean off the old thermal paste, and apply a small amount of high-quality thermal paste before reattaching the heatsink. Case Cooling: Ensure that your case has proper airflow and cooling. Make sure your fans are working correctly and that the case is not obstructed by dust or other debris. CPU Cooler: Consider upgrading your CPU cooler. A better cooler can help dissipate heat more effectively and reduce VRM temperatures. Undervolting: While it's not recommended to modify the BIOS, you can try undervolting your CPU using software tools within your operating system. Tools like AMD Ryzen Master or BIOS settings (if available) might provide some control over voltage and clock speeds. BIOS Update: If you're still inclined to update the BIOS, make sure you use the correct and official BIOS update from the motherboard manufacturer's website. Follow the instructions precisely to avoid any issues. Professional Help: If you're uncomfortable making hardware changes or BIOS modifications yourself, consider seeking assistance from a professional or a computer repair shop. Keep in mind that even with modifications, the VRM design on the motherboard might still pose limitations on cooling and power delivery. Extreme undervolting or overclocking can potentially cause instability or damage to your hardware. Always exercise caution and thoroughly research before making any changes to your system.

How could I modify the BIOS's boot logo, where in BIOS is it stored? I mean to download BIOS and change the boot logo, then flash it.
@HetmanRecovery
@HetmanRecovery Год назад
Modifying the BIOS's boot logo is not recommended unless you are an experienced computer technician as it could potentially brick your system. However, if you still want to proceed, here are the steps: Download a BIOS editing tool such as AMI BIOS Editor or Phoenix BIOS Editor. Extract the BIOS file from your motherboard manufacturer's website or by using a tool such as Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit. Open the BIOS editing tool and load the BIOS file. Navigate to the boot logo section and replace the logo with your custom one. Save the BIOS file and flash it using your motherboard manufacturer's recommended method. Note that the location of the boot logo in BIOS varies depending on the manufacturer and model of your motherboard. You will need to do some research to find the exact location.

Hello, I am trying to do the Xeon LGA 775 to LGA 771 upgrade on my HP pre-built I am currently getting the ‘Error 46 - Problem getting flash information’ when attempting to flash my modified bios using afudos.exe and a window ‘Proper command line parameters were not passed. No action taken.’ when attempting to flash using the HP installer in a windows 7 environment. In the HP Windows update process, the status bar goes nearly to the end and just hangs there. I exited the application after a couple hours. I am attempting to flash a modified bios to upgrade from a Q6700 to a Xeon E5450 on an HP m9252p (Asus IPIBL-LB motherboard). I have successfully modified the bios files with the necessary microcode but now have trouble flashing the HP modified bios via DOS or Windows 7. Any recommendations? The bios was extracted from an original HP .exe file. I am hoping to get this loud fan noise fixed and Windows 10 up and running. Thank you in advance!
