I know there's a lot of variables involved but I have an old rusty 59 apache 3100 short bed/stepside. I wonder what it would cost to have a shop do bodywork like replacing the steps and corners, a cheap paint job, and then put in a new LS drivetrain and mustang II (no air ride) suspension? I'm considering a new truck in near future but honestly not sure I want to drop $35k plus on one. I'd much rather update an old truck and make it a reliable driver.
