This is such a good song and it sounds very good live. Zeppelin was the 1970s more correctly 1968-1980. The band split up when their drummer John Bonham died. They couldn't face performing without him.
The symbols came from the 4th untitled album. Jimmy was pissed off that the critics said they weren’t a rock band, so he decided they wouldn’t put their name on this album as a big FU to the critics, and they each adopted a symbol representing each of them. Of course, the record label couldn’t have that, so they put a wrapping with a label on the albums. The first song on the album was “Rock and Roll”, this song, and “Black Dog”. So much for the “not rock” comment. This 4th album is arguably one of their best.
That logo on the bass drum has been there since 1971, when the fourth album came out, Check out the albums/CD sleeve, you will find that symbol along with 3 others, one for each member of the band, supposedly Celtic in origin.
Love them they always sound fantastic on record or live. Robert Plant always said he would always sing a song differently every time to keep it fresh and difgerent
Jimmy Page the guitarists, was an artist when he was younger. He had each band member design a symbol that represented themselves and then he took the four symbols and intertwined them together to make the logo. Now the logo you see on that page you brought up, I have no idea why it's similar but a guess would be that, After Led Zeppelin four, Led Zeppelin formed their own music company called Swan Song. Is it possible the home page had something to do with the Led Zeppelin label?
Do more from this concert 1973 at msg!! This was 1973...do the next song...the ending actually went right into the next song called Celebration Day...this was the opening song! Keep going with this 1973 concert!
You need one of those thingy accounts where you can reference and people pay you money. Hang on I'm gonna google it..can't find it but you do this thing on another thing and you just say head on over to my other thing and I will show a more in depth look kinda bullshit and people can go on over there if they choose and pay maybe as little as a dollar to watch you pretend to watch Led Zeppelin. It's great everyone gets paid.
Shame, but understandable he dropped down a key to sing this live. Jimmy page was a 'shredder' compared to PF's Dave Gilmore's more precise emotional guitar, two of the greatest ever for me.
