As a mk4 kid at heart, I love to see mk4's and their owners, getting some love. The mk4 platform has become an entry level car for many young people who want to get into the tuning/building game, because they can get them relatively cheap these days. But, because of that, the mk4 gets a lot of hate these days too... But there's SO MANY great builds, and great people behind those builds. Its cool to see someone spotlighting these builds/people. Especially from ECS! Id love to see more videos like this... Maybe a mk4 owners series..??? *hint*hint*
I used to have a 1999.5 mk4 Jetta when I was a teenager about 10 years ago and it had sooo many problems, leaked oil like crazy lol but I really love this car. If I could find a mk4 in decent working condition (prob not possible) I’d buy it in a heartbeat
Still got the 99.5 me and the wife got in 01, and overall it has been a good car. Never broke anything major and nothing bad enough that it couldn't get home. Definitely the last VW platform I'd even dare using the word reliable around though.
My 04 Jetta 2.0 is stock with the original clutch and 275000 miles is very comfortable gets 36mpg. I'll keep it as long as it runs or they stop selling gasoline. I'm 62 and am looking for a little more ground clearance so it's better in the snow of northern Michigan.
Here because I owned this same model in silver. Served me well for 9 years and 148k miles until it was totaled. Tempted to either buy another one or a Focus SVT of the same year, that I purchased it over.
@@adayinthelifeof6654 no actually I have a 1.8 turbo I ripped out the stock ko3s turbo put in the ko4 I'm waiting on a tune I have a 3-in downpipe I have it sitting on coilovers I have a hybrid oil pan cold air intake just ordered a bigger fuel rail bigger injectors and bigger spark plugs also I sell LEDs for a living so the whole car is completely decked out in LED headlights reverse lights interior lights underglows coming in people can be judgmental because it's the German car and they say why do you want to go rice but you know what it's my build and I love it it's a great little car
these older gen body type for the jetta are my fav...the newer ones tend to look like camrys...i currently drive a jetta city with an intake other than that its stock...and...yes the engine light is on lol
I’m here bc I found one as my first vw Jetta. Last few vehicles have been bmw. I found one for $3450 at 58k miles. WB edition, unfortunately auto, but wasn’t looking for a specific car anyways. Just happen to find this crazy deal and will hopefully be pulling the trigger on the deal soon
I have a 01 Wolfsburg 1.8t and I just got the carbon hood I need to get the hood latches they look dope and I need to do so much more but patience and lots of money will get me there just like this guy & and FYI I have a check engine light ever 2 weeks or sooner 😂
What is he talking about? Wolfsburg is just an interior trim package it doesn’t change any of the parts on the transmission. I bet this guy thinks it’s also made in Germany.
Nope the Wolfsburg is just regular gls but with an upgraded interior 😂. That exhaust sounds like crap js. How are you running a stage 3 clutch on a stock engine, even if it had a stage 2 tune on it I would maybe put a stage 2 clutch in .
@@ShRuss11 6266 precision turbo. Rods and bearings. Big boy tune, then come back here with a nicer sounding exhaust and you won’t get people shittin all over your build. Also those a pillar gauges are dangerous in a wreck unless you’ve removed the airbag behind it.
What do you mean about the shift linkage is different being a Wolfsburg? There’s early and late style.. all 1999-2001 including Wolfsburg have the same linkage. Nice car loved the vid I loove the Wing!
I have a 1999 VW Jetta 2.0! Getting a MagnaFlow Exhaust Kit (Catback Touring) 👀 getting some nice 17 in rims! Putting some Pilot Sport All Season Tires. I’m actually looking for a body kit for it! Anyone could help?
@@ecstuning is it area specific? I have a friend of mine that just got the record for stock is20 on the quarter mile and I think he would be perfect to talk to.
i have a mk4 jetta with the 90 degree trunk, i would seriously pay for a printed wing. please i’m the same with you i’ve been looking all over i love the duck bill
I am the jetta KING!...all you need do is kneel before my power and I may grant your request. For I am a kind Jetta King. lol. Hey man as another mk4 2003 owner there is NO OTHER car (that old) that can be made as beautiful as our Jetta's. I still get compliments and its stock of course with a nice set of wheels.
I definitely want a duckbill for my B5.5!! And a better roof spoiler then what ECS Tuning offers. What’s with not having pictures for your items? I’ll never buy an item that I can’t even look at.
Imagine hating on someone else because they could actually build a cool 1.8t, but you couldn't so you hate on their car. My guy you can't talk bad about someone because you wish your high mileage, beat to shit vr6 with a tune and new wheels could be on the show. Some people like their own things, and they make the car the way they want to. I mean c'mon man if you really gotta relieve your stress from your dead end job I'm sure the wife (guessing you have one, even though it's highly unrealistic) would love to hear all about how pathetic you are. And before you go hating on others, take your stupid ass glasses off, clean them, and take a good look in the mirror, I'm sure you'll see something far more disappointing than this car.
@@Niko-me1ic if you think that a 1.8t with bolt ons is even close to 300hp you are wrong. He is making 210 max. I have literally the same build, it isn’t hating you kids just need to stop inflating your numbers for clout. You, ECS and the owner of this car obviously don’t know anything about mk4s. ECS you lost my business months ago when you took 6 weeks to send out a gasket set. Company is a joke and this video proves it. This video makes VWs look like a joke. Get some class
