This is great. I also appreciate you humility and show your unsuccessful attempts. It makes these goals more attainable.

People don't give Terry enough credit. Most people thing he is just out there doing random things but he is soooo calculated. And his technique along with his musicality is on point. You can tell he took time to hone his abilities.

@Chadrick De' Jher I couldn't agree more. At a glance, any of Terry's dances may appear to be just a series of movements that he got lucky on. But I see through all that. Glad you do too. Thanks for the comment. 👍🏽

Thanks for the compliment. The song is LA GUAGUA a song by Celia Cruz. This version is a cover by a local artist and friend of mine Celeste Polanco. Here's a link to her album. smarturl.it/Celeste-Traicionada

Not the first time seeing Terry, but first time seeing one of your videos. Well explained breakdown of one of his complex manoeuvres. I often miss his prep work for his moves - in this case I missed his flick to secure the setenta hold on his partner's left side. I'll have to find one very understanding (and patient) partner to try to attempt it.

I love this! I've always drawn from Terry for inspiration but you've done it in a beautifully didactic manner. Thank you and keep it up.

The analysis is great and the fact you added your own progress in the studio makes this an awesome video. Thanks! Question, when you are practicing a move with your partner - is it that fun for the follow to learn? I always feel self conscious that I’m wasting the follow’s time because it’s more about me learning. It also seems like it’s not that fun for the follows because they may not see that same move on the dance floor if ever.

Thanks for the comment. And thats a good question. I usually practice movements with multiple partners and on a social dance floor. With covid, my options are more limited so I have to stay in the studio and have less people to work with. In this case the work was mostly on me. But if you look at my other videos, you might see that there is just as much work for the follow as well as the lead. I have said in other videos that there are no "new moves." Only new ideas on old moves. If you look at it that way, both dancers already know the movements steps. They just need to understand the idea. Hope this is helpful. 🙂👍

Wonderful breakdown of that fantastic move. It's great to see these explanations and your method. Thanks for providing these. Do you have a video where you explain what Press lines are?

Thanks a lot for the compliment. I'm glad you get something out of these. Please share with your friends. To answer your question about press lines....as a matter of fact I do. 😁 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kJ7uEbU5hx8.html But if you would like a more detailed breakdown with different versions, let me know in the comments. 👍🏽

One observation: in this video Terry is dancing with his wife, Amelie, who has danced thousands of times with Terry and thus knows his lead (and all of these turns) very, very well. Even the most accomplished professional salsa dancer would not try to do these turns with someone who has never danced with them. Only the most accomplished of profesional dancers could ever keep up with Terry as he is dancing here, and even then they would be making a lot of misconnections and having a lot of misunderstandings. In general, what we see here are not spontaneous, improvised in the moment turns, but have been practiced over and over again until gotten right --that is to say, they have more in common with choreographed dancing than with normal social dancing. And I can assure you that Terry himself knows this.

I have to disagree with you there. Although I'm sure he has practiced these movements hundreds of times. I show the same movements being done with 3 different women. So clearly its not Choreography worked out between two people.

Bro Terry has 14 yeas of background in Tae Kwon Do. Do you have any idea what level of preparation this is? I know, as the Tae Kwon Do fighter was the only one to ever know me out :) Damn it was quick. Remember collapsing like a cooked spaghetti noodle.
