Compare this to domestic one day games in England in the 70's and 80's where reaching 50 in 17 overs was regarded as "ratlling along at a decent rate". Most of the bowlers were journeymen well below test standard, the pitches might not have been as good, so i can only assume todays batsmen are a lot better.
They had uncovered pitches back then, some of the bowlers of the 70s and 80s are the greatest and quickest of all time, the bats were much worse back then, and they had less protection so had to leave and duck more. Batsman were just as good if not better back in the day as they had extra challenges. Look at the depth and size of the bats modern batsmen use. There's numerous clips of shots were it just feathers the bat flying away for 4. The bat Sir Don used was basically like a stump. Bowlers however still have the same length to bowl, the pitches are infinitely better for batsmen, they are pristine a lot of the time. The ball is basically the same. They can't bounce as much as they did in the pre-war game, given bodyline, can only bowl 2 bouncers an over. Imagine batsmen dealing with that back in the day, they don't have to worry about it now
@@papamurrth1 some of the bowlers. The ones who bowled maybe 11 or 12 of the overs and took 3-27. The rest were county level so the remaining 44 or 48 should really have gone for 260 to 280. Instead, something like 209-8 was a par score for 60 over games.

Bazball is when you attack a good bowling attack ! This was just great batting against not very good bowling.. and with the england batsmen having confidence to play there shots with out the fear off being dropped by low scores they have all grown in self belief!
Can't blame the batsman! Poor bowling has to be put away .. all the shots by the england batsman were classic shots ! No ramps / reverse sweeps etc etc .. the proof is how england run over the west indies in there second innings by bowling well .
