Peter, you really nailed it giving us the inside to the Audials program. Thanks for answering all the questions. I cannot find listed in Support. I can’t tell you how valuable it is having somebody like yourself explain how the program works when there’s not a manual. 😊

its a trend that started with Apple iTunes and iPhoto. David Pogue of the NYTimes even wrote "the missing manual" series to cover how to actually make them work. It was supposed to be so intuitive that you would not need a manual but since there are pro features that only work in some circumstances, I guess at least some hover over pop-ups would be nice.

I figured I’d ask this question on one of your newer videos. I have a jextream hotspot from T-Mobile. During speed tests I’m getting anywhere from 100-400 mps. But my ping is usually pretty high. Anything I can buy to get lower ping and faster internet for my travels? The hotspot doesn’t have an antenna port. I like to game on my iPad so the ping is sometimes an issue

When you leave a new message, it floats right to the top. It helps when you leave it on the right video so that I am helping others too. Bottom line: PING is hard to control. This is a phone network much gaming traffic has to go to an IXP point to transfer to the rest of the internet. A fiber drop from XFinity will give you a

Great video on this interesting application Peter. I discovered the application watching your videos. My only dismay is that it doesn't seem to run on Linux. I might try a VM or other virtualization options like bottles.

I still enjoy this program. I recently found "Big History", a history documentary that is currently on Prime video. I found it 10 years ago and have not see it since. I was even willing to buy it, but it disappeared from the earth. There is no way that I am not recording it this time.

@@PeterC408 I also have recordings from TV shows and documentaries you can't stream or buy on DVD or even VHS anywhere. Some in questionable quality from 2 decades ago. But it's very interesting material.

Once a program is recorded does it save a file to your computer you can play back on a program such as VLC or do you have to watch it with their software?

You can play it back on anything. You choose the file type and the density.

Hey there Peter, great video as always. I haven't started investigating this yet, but thought I would ask an expert. Can Audials record with captions embedded within the video recording also? Is there an option for that, I have just purchased Audials one 2024. Thanks for your help!

My wife loves subtitles.... not true, she hates things without subtitles. When I want to embedded Subtitles to something that did not have subtitles, I like to use programs like video proc converter ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ncn7pFZVI2Q.html Sometimes I rip a FRENCH DVD and the subtitles for English are missing. I have found them on sites like www.opensubtitles.org/ and can embed them by converting them and adding the subtitles. Super good job. That said, I was surprised to find that when I record from Audials with the Subtitles on, it did not record them like I thought they would. This would be a great question for their team. Ask them and let us know! Thank you

@@PeterC408 why do you embed the subtitles? Do you have devices or players that don't support srt format subtitles?

You can record from free Spotify or others and it automatically breaks and labels the commercials along with the songs. Then just delete the commercials. Easy.

I've watched your video twice and decided to buy Audials. I am trying to record a movie from RU-vidTV. I have tried it in Firefox and Chrome. I am using Direct Video Recording, as RU-vidTV doesn't have a plugin. I have tried this in FireFox and Chrome, but the recording never starts. Do you have any ideas? Do you think there is a Copyright issue?

No in that mode it's basically a screen recorder. You don't have to set it up to automatically start you can actually start it yourself. Sometimes in this mode I will start a show set a timer and come back to stop it. It should properly identified at that point in pulled the rights metadata and clipart to make it look really good.

I have RU-vid tv and use Chrome. It works well. I recorded Ancient Aliens from there.

This isn't about Downloading and it isn't about Netflix. THIS is about the freedom to RECORD any stream and OWN it. Forever!

It's not the same because Netflix doesn't control your download. Once the title is removed from Netflix, you lose the downloaded content. With Audials you keep the recording.

Windows Only. Technically it can be use on a Mac running Parallels (Intel) but that's basically a PC.

Why does the removing commercials not work with hulu? It doesnt just not work, remove adds is not even there.

It's an advanced feature that's coming out that works with some of the services. It doesn't work for all of them yet but you can bet that someday it probably will
