I don't understand why people want all that extra stuff when they start up their TV. We went from channel surfing to tile surfing. I side loaded and installed fLauncher over my Android TV interface and it allows me to place the tiles on their Start up menu that I want to see. All without any advertisements. Nada. None. Just the tiles you want to see all on one screen. No scrolling. I've never been happier to know that I finally own my TV. If I want to know what service is playing a specific movie I go to JustWatch on my phone app. If I own the service or it's free I just open the appropriate app and start watching.

As my NVIDIA Shield keeps losing WiFi approx 3x / day, I'm looking for another solution, but there is no way I can go back to expensive TV streaming with non-stop, repeated ad nauseam, heavily social engineered ads. Can the "Not to be mentioned K***" app be loaded on this device? If so, the price point seems good albeit Google does not seem to operate in the best interest of this country and certainly not aligned with Free Speech. One would think, given Google's vast granular knowledge of our interests, they would be 1,000 times better at presenting ads without insulting our intelligence, not repeating the same ad 5x/day even after you told them to block it {actblue.}, and that would present products we might actually be interested in buying. For example: why does RU-vid constantly present ads for baby diapers when I'm at the awkward age between diapers and depends?

I have worked in Silicon Valley for over 25 years. Let me tell you how it works in China. Plastic tooling is very expensive, so they often have public "reference designs". This means if your design your PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) to fit a preset dimensional cavity, you can buy the case from them for CHEAP! This results in products looking almost exactly the same on the outside but being very different on the inside. The fact that it is a different amount of storage means that it is a different PCBA and Firmware. Do not assume that it is the same product. You can only be sure that it is a different product with the same reference design. Plus 8GB is not enough. Wait until Prime Day and see where this one is price wise. I would seriously pay and extra $15 to get 16GB of NAND. If you are willing to take that kind of chance to save a few dollars and get half the storage.
@PeterC408
@PeterC408 День назад
First off, I know exactly what you are talking about but I believe this is a growing market. Ad space that was traditionally filled by local ads can now be filled by Google but maybe there are not enough ads yet. Have you seen the ad that says "Google - Be Right Back"? This is a slot filler for the live channels that do not have the proper length local ads. Now if they start publishing that spec and allowing people to make & compete for that ads space it will probably get really competitive, really fast. Sorry about your WiFi - that does not seem normal. Anyway to go wired (Ethernet) at that spot?

Hey Steve. Thanks for the response. I am a computer scientist so I am pretty confident in my response. Let me tell you there is no computer conversion going on between Megabytes and Megabits (or Gigabytes and Gigabits). It is simply like saying Gallons vs Cups. So my car takes 15 gallons (or 240 cups) of gasoline. Except for no one talks about gasoline in cups, we talk about gallons. Same thing with networking, we talk about Megabits. With hard drives we talk about Megabytes. It is just that there are 8 Bits to a Byte so we multiply by 8. Now that the Internet is getting faster, I am totally cool with switching but some habits die hard. With Modems we used to talk about Kbps because they were so frigging slow... my how things have evolved so quickly. It has been one wild ride. Stay curious! It's all good. Learning is fun and I try to learn something everyday.

My router always reports "DHCP not configured correctly" when I put it in bridge mode. I assumed the router should be set to "Automatic IP". When I switch to bridge mode with just a computer attached, I have no internet connection. T-Mobile is operating on IPv6 exclusively and the NO-IP Configuration always says "Offline" Even the AAAA record and that DDNS shows as offline. How are you getting IPv4 addresses when T-Mobile isn't providing them?
@PeterC408
@PeterC408 4 дня назад
@@GeorgeArchibald T-Mobile is always giving me IPv4. The only problem with it is it keeps changing. That is Carrier Grade NAT, In that caused quite an issue until I was able to control it using DDNS and bridge mode. Which router do you have? @PeterC408
@PeterC408 4 дня назад
Hey George - I am reading this again and wanted to make sure of something. It is the Gateway that you want to be in Bridge Mode, not the access point (but that shouldn't give you this error). Bridge Mode on the Modem side is a way to get the ISP to give your router their IP address instead of their own unit. This is only because their gateway lacks many desirable features. This not only works, it works so well that I am no longer surprised when it works. I was just in Carmel for the week (going to the ocean to beat the valley heat) and I was able to watch videos from my server on the Big Screen over PLEX. Hi, I just received the G4 AR and am receiving on LTE B66 RSRP - 75 RSRQ -8 RSSI - 66 SNR 28 and on 5G and 41 -70 - 10-59-25 respectively… So excellent numbers but my download and upload speeds are poor sometimes as low as 10 download and 15 upload sometimes even lower can't even stream video… Will the waveform antenna help a lot? I have a clear sight of the tower approximately 1/2 mile away thanks for your videos and support.
@PeterC408
@PeterC408 5 дней назад
Thanks for sharing your numbers... this makes it easier to answer. The bands you are pulling in are good and the scores you are getting are excellent. The WaveForm antenna would only serve to makes these numbers slightly better. With those numbers you should be getting the full resources available from that tower. Either the tower is being worked on or it is a remote tower itself and perhaps has a microwave backhaul. Are you by chance in the middle of a national forest or something? This would mean that you are getting good signal but the resources of the tower are less than say in LA, Chicago or Silicon Valley.
@PeterC408
@PeterC408 5 дней назад
Another possibility would be sharing bandwidth... if you go to Burning Man for example (Woodstock for you older folks) you suddenly have a bunch of people sharing the resources of a very remote tower. This is a stressed resource and as an internet user, your priority is the lowest. So camping in a national park might have ups and downs tied to the number of users.
@daveruder9400
@daveruder9400 5 дней назад
I was afraid of that answer because it looks like a deprioritized tower or just equipment not up to par. I get more than respectable speeds with T-Mobile cell from that tower so was hoping for the same with home internet. I guess I'll have to return the gateway...thanks for your reply.
@PeterC408
@PeterC408 5 дней назад
With scores like that, it is worth giving them a call to find out what is going on. Perhaps it is just a maintenance thing. Also, there are ways to increase your Priority? Get a Business account SIM, they have higher priority. Get a different modem that can get "better bands". Most Home Internet users are using 5G NSA with n41. If you can pair that with and n25, n66 or even n77 it is like finding a secret freeway. Getting a different Gateway may be what you need. Get a Business SIM because higher priority and works with anything. When you accept their gateway, you are basically signing a contract for 2yrs.

I've been trying to figure this all out and it's a nightmare, unfortunately this video wasn't helpful because if you download an app that gives the actual tower and phone radio info, 700mhz doesn't mean exactly 700mhz it's showing the actual frequencies as : RX 739mhz TX 709mhz band 17 similar for all other frequencies. They are not exactly 2100 mhz for example. Also, obviously phones and cell towers can be made to transmit properly, so why would it be impossible to manufacture a repeater. It's not.

Bottom line: This product was fairly tested. I contacted the manufacturer repeatedly for support and got nothing. If you think your experience will be different you're mistaken. This product only raised my number of bars because it managed to match the upstream of one band. You're right, there is no reason a product like this could not be made, this just isn't it.

Gaming is tricky because it is not so much about speed but latency. Many games send small positional packets and require a very responsive network (low PING). Still other games require a constant IP address (PVP) and that can be done with a faster router. PING is the tricky one... While PING is reported by many Internet speed testing programs, it only tests the ping to the speed test server, which is located on every network, including TMobile. Most gaming servers are not located on TMobile and must jump to another service at an IXP (internet exchange point). What is your PING?

There are over 2000 peer-reviewed studies showing EMR causes biological harm at levels below those set by the FCC. The Environmental Health Trust took the FCC to court over the way they ignore and dismiss these studies. The judge rebuked the FCC and told them to include ALL studies when setting exposure limits. This was a few years ago and the FCC haven't done anything. Please people do some homework and discover the real truth about the danger of man made electromagnetic radiation. It is fundamentally different from natural nonionising radiation because it is polarised, irregularly modulated and pulses at incredible speeds resulting in cellular oxidative stress i.e. too many free radicals which is well-known for causing disease. All living organisms on our planet have adapted to different kinds of radiation over millennia but have not had time to adapt this new man-made artificial radiation that is proving to be toxic. Never in the history of science has so much evidence been dismissed or ignored.

Did you watch the video? With 5G Home Internet, we are talking about a much lower frequency segment of 5G spectrum. I thought I gave this a fair shake and even listed sources. Finding accurate information is very difficult but I do know that radiation drops of dramatically with distance. I would be concerned if I was repairing these transmission towers or if I had one outside my window, but even 300ft drops even to safe levels. If you are really concerned about wireless internet, get the radio outside of your home. Using this device all signals are transmitted and received outside of my home. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gMRfklUD_E4.htmlsi=-rDj7BSOQdt2NvkJ

@@PeterC408 my comment has nothing to do with "clean hands". I am talking about "covering the view" of what you are doing. In other words moving or removing something but blocking it with your hands and the viewer cannot see what you did unless is familiar with the procedure. Congratulations on so many views.

You can record from free Spotify or others and it automatically breaks and labels the commercials along with the songs. Then just delete the commercials. Easy.

Many thanks for the video. I just ordered this NR330 and realized that it has no external antenna port. BTW we can just drill 2 holes at the casing near where the LAN ports are, and use a nut to secure the SMA connector, this will make it looks like a real external antenna port.

Hey man I have a huge question I’m going on 88 day’s now ever since April 5th my T-mobile home internet has been acting up I was 500+ all day for download and 800+ at night for download with 100+ for upload with 19-30 ping now my ping is 300-600 and my upload is anywhere from 16-50 and my Download is anywhere from 200-600 it’s all over the place 24/7 they told me it was tower update then they said it wasn’t it was actually because of bad firmware well update came out 28th in June did nothing to help my issues I have done everything possible I can think of new gateway new sim card multiple resets tower connection refresh I need help because T-mobile doesn’t know what tf there doing it’s literally been 88 days man 😢😭 my gateway went off April 5th and like restarted its self ever since then it’s been shit all I got in my area is T-mobile , Optimum cable , brightspeed and that’s basically all I got in my area I been told They all suck besides t-mobile and clearly they suck now to

When I started surfing there was hardly anyone in the water. Guys would get 15 rides a session. Now it has turned into an aquatic mosh pit of inadequacy. Same thing happened with Cable internet; People would brag about their speeds until everyone got it. There is another way... While there are more people at the table, you can still get plenty to eat. Better signal will get you faster speeds. While you will still see slowdowns, slowing for 700Mpbs to 500Mbps during peak times it not an issue. Going to 5G SA allows you to get different (less crowded) bands and avoid the 4G slowdown. When I first put an antenna on my modem, I was getting 700-950Mbps but now that same solution yields half (as you could see). By changing hardware, I am able to change to frequencies that my T-Mobile provided modem can't get! I can even craft my scores to get me more balanced performance and fix the CG-NAT. So, what was your question?
@PeterC408
@PeterC408 10 дней назад
As far as shutting itself off, it is probably because it is too hot. This device does not like to serve WiFi very much. If you have over 10 devices, it gets hot then shuts off. Just use a different router and it will be fixed. I would always use my own router and using Bridge Mode allows you to do so without getting into double NAT. Oh, and it is faster too.

@@PeterC408I talked to a supervisor from T-mobile technical support team and he said it’s because of the Obama “Fair Data Act” because I’m going over 1.2 TB I’m hitting over 4TB a month and there basically putting me at the bottom and it’s causing me major problems and he said I’m lucky I haven’t gotten kicked off yet even tho I have the ultimate 50$ plan that’s “price locked” it doesn’t matter apparently the only other options I have is bright-speed fiber or Optimum Cable which every time I talk to them they talk like there my friend that daps me up like I’m at school there very weird to talk to

I talked to a T-mobile supervisor and they said I’m lucky I haven’t gotten kicked off and suggested I looked for a new provider because they said I was going over the 1.2 TB and I was averaging over 4TB a month and was “Quote” using to much bandwidth even tho I’m locked in at 50$ for “Unlimited Data “ that’s why my speeds have been all over the place I guess because they want me to leave so there finding ways to really mess with me I’m at 600 ping used to be in the lower 20s can I not sue them for this? I texted all this earlier but i didn’t see it guessing it didn’t save

@@TT_LIFTS T-Mobile changed this for all of its Home Internet customers back in April. Went from "Unlimited, except in times of network congestion" to "Still Unlimited except in times of network congestion...but even moreso for those using over 1.2TB per month". We all know that TMHI is in the lowest throttle tier, so there's that, too. What aggravates me about it is that Tmo claims it's due to crowding on their network, but at the same time, rolls out new 130GB/month backup plans. It seems like reducing their bandwidth load for TMHI customers, thereby freeing up bandwidth for these new plans. As someone who fought "cutting the cord" for cable tv for years until very recently, this is not ideal. Running RU-vidTV/Fubo/Hulu + Live is fairly bandwidth heavy, and will chew through 1.2TB with additional moderate internet use.

Nope. Once you buy it you own it. I recently took it to vacation with us. We went to NY, Boston, Vermont and Montreal. Each hotel, I either plugged it into their Ethernet (if available) or logged into their WiFi. It created a secure network (using my VPN) that mimics our home network (same SSID and password). This made it so that all our phones and tablets worked instantly but were protected by a VPN. Great stuff. I could also use it to share my phone connection with the family. I have a larger HotSpot data plan and it can share that too.
