I’m seeing a lot of people talk about the safety pin that prevents the hose reel from pulling off the bracket. I think that’s just for the 100’ model. This doesn’t exist on the 130’ model.
These are not the same quality. Giraffes brackets deform in the sun. They fade, and the retracting mechanism gets less smooth over time. Hoselink hold up better over time
It held up OK. The retraction mechanism still works, but has slowed a bit. Another company sent me one and I have replaced it with that. But it still worked fine after about a year or so of use.
Wish I could post stories here… hopefully soon. But if you are on Instagram, I just posted a story of me using it tonight actually. You can find me there @the_lawngineer
Hey Vince, I'm in the market for something like this. Wondering if you could do a review on the similar Neverleak 100ft. Retractable at Lowes for $134.99. Want to see which is the best bang for the buck.
If I get an opportunity to review it, I will. Looking at the specs, the major difference I see is the ability to adjust the spring load on the Neverleak which seems nice. There is a limited time deal on this 130’ hose for $149 from Giraffe Tools. For an extra $10-$15, I’d opt for a bit more hose. But if you don’t need the extra length, might be cheaper to go with the Neverleak.
@@TheLawngineerYeah, 75 is all I would need. I tried the Zero G, as seen on TV scrunch hoses, regular hoses and retractable seems like the next step. Thanks for the review and comment.
I bought one. The set screw that locks the reel to the bracket was broken off in the bracket. I contacted Giraffe, the sent me another bracket with NO set screw. They sent me a $20 credit. The nozzle is horrible, I used a regular $8.00 nozzle. Anyway, I'll use it until it breaks, then buy a Flexzilla Pro Retractable.
