You need to watch this if
1) When someone asks you... What do you do?? You say..." ahh nothing... I am just a #housewife ."
2) If someone asks you, "Is your mom/wife working?"... and if they are a homemaker/ housewife... you say no, she doesn't work.
3)If you have ever asked a housewife, "So, what do you do the whole day?" and have answered in your mind... nothing!!
I am #Ruchi Singh from Ruchisinghtalks. I own my life and I help others to own theirs.
A lot of people connect with me for advice both business or personal. In the last 10 ten days, 4 women connected with me and they had one thing in common... they all said they were "just" a housewife... in a slightly embarrassed tone, few gave me reasons too as to why they were a housewife. Can you relate to this?
Why is it that these capable, beautiful women feel that they have to give an explanation to me or anyone as to why they are a housewife? Why do they feel embarrassed, awkward or defensive because they are a housewife? I know, I know... now the politically correct term is #homemaker but our mindset is still the same... when someone says she is a homemaker/ #housewife we have some preconceived notions in our mind which lead us to believe that Housewife/Homemaker = not valuable, not contributing.
How many of you watching this video has at-least once asked their mom or their wife this question "What do you do the whole day??" And when asking the question have automatically decided that the answer is "nothing".
I have handled transition in my corporate avatar. Transition managers are considered to be highly skilled people who get paid quite well for their experience. So, if I have to put it in corporate lingo... my mom was a transition manager and a brilliant one at that. The only difference is that I got a leadership excellence award for my work and mom got nothing.
The list of her contributions are long and invaluable but she is "just" a housewife.
And my request to all you beautiful, accomplished housewives or homemaker is... Never sound embarrassed or defensive about being a housewife. Your contributions are valuable, you are valuable and even if nobody realizes it, acknowledges it or gives you credit.... you give yourself credit for doing so much day in day out without having the hope of a promotion, rewards or a salary hike. If someone is actually rude enough to ask what your contribution is... put on your best face forward... look at them and say.... darling... I will tell you but what's the point... you cannot afford me.
If everything a housewife does is converted into money... most of the people will not be able to afford a housewife. This world treats us the way we treat yourself. So, #value yourself, #respect yourself and most importantly #love yourself. My mom is just a housewife and by God... she is brilliant at it. Home is not home with her.

My dad beg my mom to be a homemaker😂, she has job and quit when she was pregnant. He understand the kids will have better life with present mom. He doesnt control finance, my mom manage it and spend however she wants for the house, they both discuss when it comes to big purchase.

I found this video while researching how to be the best housewife. I found this in a long list of videos saying to "order online" and "dont think its bad when you HIRE someone to FOLD YOUR CLOTHES FOR YOU" thankyou for ahowing what its like to be a housewife in a family thats not stinking rich! Even though i do work, I am also a housewife and i take full responsibility for our small farm, feeding the chickens, watering the garden ect. My husband works very long hours and his step children are spoiled rotten due to their mother and they are no help to me whatsoever. I am struggling alot as a young woman with no children of my own and looking for some kind of mentorship becoming the woman of the house

@@rohi1255 i agree. we must encourage women to go out and work. In her mother's case maybe because of husband's transfers, she could not pursue a job. But honestly, I feel the sheer amount of encouragement women are getting to become housewives, doesn't make sense to me. Under extremely tough circumstances, maybe they can become housewives, otherwise the sky is the limit for both men and women. Also career women are the one's who do not put undue pressure on their men to continue slogging on the corporate job they might dislike. with an additional earning member, men can take a break too.

Imagine a world without any housewife ? I bet there will be no love affection left. I am home maker myself and yes I feel embarrassed when I say I am home maker as I am educated completed Msc and most importantly I put myself down by thinking that why am I cleaning house when I had worked my ass off to score a distinction in studies.. but I am not able to get back to work when I see my lill kid's face I get this question " how can I leave this small tiny human being alone, uncared" yes I can afford some guardian but will this kid receive that motherly fatherly love and what would happen if this kid will not be aware of these and what someone gets to suffer just cos of this kid not knowing what is "love, affection, care" and yes I feel guilty being a homemaker and very sad but I am not able to overcome the other side of the work those above questions . Why has society put this unwanted pressure over homemaker ? Why can't educated ones be homemaker?

On a good day I enjoy being a housewife but somedays I'm exhausted and start question my life choices. I prefer the term housewife. I work so hard to keep going and keep the house tidy and meals cooked with very little food . I'm proud that I can pull it off . My gran was a housewife and she made it look so easy caring for all of us. She passed when I was 13yrs old and since then I have enjoyed caring for people etc. Now I'm losing my last grandparent , being a housewife is enjoyable. I also balance it with art and music.

Thanks mam u raised really crucial topic, My sister got married a year earlier and she is managing her home really well and happily but every other day she has to face one comment if u will work then u can get all this work done by a helper in Rs 5000 only .This comment express our society thoughts about a housewife . With house my sister is also managing her studies ,as she love to study but for this also she listens "why r u studying if u r not interested in job "??? Will only our job give us the reason to study and home maker has no rights???

I’ve been a stay at home mom for 13 years now and it’s bittersweet…sadly all society thinks of is “money” but we are the CEO’s of running our household and shaping our future generation. Most underrated JOB in the world. It’s so hard most women would rather go back to “work” being a housewife/sahm is not for everyone. Financially it’s hard to stay home if you struggle with money (just my experience)

I have been a housewife and wife that worked outside the home. I worked harder at home, no PTO, no off clock hours (work 24 hrs a day). No sick days, no vacation days, no bonuses etc, etc, etc. Housewives are and always will be special and produce well rounded children.

In our locality most of the wives are home maker or simply housewives. But they are more educated than their husbands. One of them has completed her M.A in History after her marriage but still she wants to be a housewife. I call her Boudi-moni(Sister-in-law). According to her, as she is a mother of a 1 year old boy so if she works outside then her child would become unhealthy & less educated in near future. She will not be able to take care of him which is very much needed for a new born baby. She says,"I have become educated therefore I can teach my child, not to earn money." Wow! This type of women are very rare. Whenever we ask educated women whether they wish to work outside or not they always say yes we want but she is the woman who wants to teach her own child rather than earning because she gives priority to her child not money.

Sometimes I also feel that we are doing nothing in our life after completing PG degree with 3 years of work experience. I did Ca course but after marriage could not complete final exams.Now with a baby of 1.5 year i could not study it again.I try to feel good working as a housewife as i am living alone with my baby and hubby but then thoughts keep on disturbing me.I feel that i could complete my course but i am not getting time now.I don't need much money but I feel bad about myself for not having the degree.Ca is also a very tough course in which i have to study at least 12-15 hours.,which i am.not able to manage now.

Being a housewife I'm judged most by working woman than anyone else. Every working woman are the ones who ask me what do you do! Don't you get bored! And I wanna yell and scream at them that you are going to work coz you can't do what I do at home. I don't have a cleaner, cook, and a every other day swiggy deliverer! Trust me I have worked and I know what that mental pressure holds. But being a housewife is a lotta of physical pressure.. Your always moving taking up kid cleaning no rest! To thode who can't value them go get a life.

Hi Ruchi, This is a good initiative, however please understand your target audience. Not all housewives are very good in English. Don't make language as the barrier to them to understand your thoughts. Good luck to you and please keep making the good videos !
