Relationships, to the narcissists, are akin to a strategic game. This game consists of winning over someone's affection and commitment, then gradually emotionally, and, in some instances, physically tormenting them, only to eventually discard them. This has been the unfortunate reality for a significant number of people. The three phases of a narcissistic relationship are something that everyone should be acquainted with, as this knowledge will enable you to determine whether you are ensnared in such a relationship. I created a video to shed light on the typical patterns that unfold in a romantic relationship with a narcissist. However, today's focus is on the discard phase and the five sly ways a narcissist utilizes to discard someone.
In the narcissist's mind, the act of discarding someone may not be a permanent decision. Nevertheless, those on the receiving end typically feel shattered and bewildered when this stage comes to pass. This is because narcissists yearn for others to commit to them, but they themselves will never reciprocate this commitment. As a result, they are perpetually on the hunt, seeking new sources of emotional supply. They are always on the lookout to replace their current partner so that when they finally decide to discard you, they would have already found a fresh source to fulfill their needs.
Moreover, narcissists often drop hints about their intentions and their true nature. Many of them have a propensity to flirt openly, even in the presence of their partners. They also have a habit of highlighting to their partners when others find them attractive. They engage in such behaviors to instill insecurity in their partners and to project an image of being universally desired. Narcissists are willing to engage in as many romantic relationships as they can handle. However, when the time comes to discard someone, don't anticipate them to do it kindly.
