David I absolutely love your videos and honest seeking . The pursuit of knowledge and understanding is so crystal clear in each of your videos. My chapel is not historic, it’s in a tiny community in Atresia, New Mexico. We are largely overlooked or ignored by our evangelical community, but it’s a great community. If you are ever passing through, please stop and see us.

Brother David, Thank you, once again for a great video. When I first saw this chapel, it looked familiar to me and when you spoke about the hallways. I know it right away, the building was while and the inside was very bright. You see, in 1956-7, I was 7 years old, our family lived on 6th east 2188 So. So my mother would offer my a choice to go to Church or the movies.....one week I would go to Church and the next the movies. That was the very Church I would go to, it was a Red Brick building and inside it was darker then. I loved the feeling of being in that building, even if I were alone, my parents didn't go to church. Back in those days we have primary during the week, so my mother would make sure I attended it. The program for my age group was called Co-pilot class, the age group ahead of us was Top Pilot. So, one day the sister teacher was going on about the founding of the church.... how Joseph Smith had built the church. In my 7 year old mind, I thought that Joseph Smith was a good builder, as I looked at the walls, celling and the door. Of course I didn't know any different, as I thought he built that chapel all by himself. LOL, not knowing anything else about the whole church system. Back then, I would wander around 6th East area, and on Sunday go to church across 7th East, never gave it much thought, other than to look out for traffic, which back then there wasn't a lot. As far the Brigham Young house, I was able to see the inside of it.... as such for me it wasn't very impressive, I was too young. When I-80 was built the BY house was moved up by the This is The Place monument, into what is called Pioneer Village.

I think you are doing such a great, fair, job in telling about the stories of these LDS Church Building! You are so respectful to all the churches you have gone to. But I particularly like how you have shared the stories about the different experiences you have had with the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout all of your travels. I am so happy that you have decided to continue to go to your Ward in your area and continue to research and investigate this church. I am a lifelong member but I still had to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I know for an assurity that this is the True Church of Jesus Christ. I can tell that you are very sincere in your investigation into this church. Keep that power of humility and teachable-ness. I know that Jesus Christ will guide you to the truthfulness of His gospel. We Welcome you wherever you decide to go. Come to Arizona we would love to see you here! Are you still talking with the missionaries in your ward

This was my Grandmother’s ward while I was growing up. We attended often. My Uncle also served as bishop of this ward in probably the early 80’s. A beautiful building with a unique history. The Book of Mormon is true. Although I was raised in the church, I have come to know the truth of the church for myself thru many years of study and prayer. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the lasting peace it brings.

I live in a community of about 15,000 people. 3 hours from the closest city. We had a beautiful chapel out in the countryside and 1 year ago in April a young man decided to burn it to the ground. There is approximately 200 members in our ward and we were all devastated when we heard. There was a lot of history in how our beautiful building came about. It started out as a small building many years ago and over time it was restructured through the efforts of the members (40 plus years ago members helped raise part of the funds for the new building)into a large beautiful chapel, gym, and classrooms. In one crazy night it was gone, just a mangled mess left. A new chapel is being built but it takes time to get this done. In the meantime we meet in a community hall and portable classrooms that we go outside to even in our cold winter that’s just passing. We all miss our chapel but the spirit has carried on. Everyone still attends and this has become our new normal. The only thing that has changed for now is where we meet, the love for our Heavenly Father and for each other has not changed we have carried on.

I love your videos!.... I joined the LDS Church when I was 9 years old, my parents never joined but they gave me rides until I could drive myself. I have served in different callings, including 6 years as Bishop, and my testimony of the Savior and his Gospel continue to grow (I am 66 now). When I pray or read the scriptures or serve my Brothers and Sisters (Everyone, not just my fellow church members) I feel the Spirit and am filled with gratitude to God for his goodness and his willingness to draw close to me.... I sense that you are a kindred Spirit and I love watching your spiritual journey! Thank you!

Thank you for your thoughtful and careful representation of my faith. I am a greatdaughter of Dr. John Milton Bernhisel who was a friend and confident of Joseph Smith. In fact, he lived in the Mansion House in Nauvoo which was Joseph Smith's home, Our family has had a spotty record of church activity -- which proves to me that conviction is a personal search whatever your family history. I am one that found out for myself that my Heavenly Father and Jesus steer this Gospel, and thus, I continue to grow as I read the Book of Momon and the Bible and pray for His guidance and repent as a daily practice. So fulfilling! Again, I am pleased by your kind words and pray for you as you place your trust in our Lord, Jesus Christ who loves you and me and everybody else!

Thank you, David. Excellent video. What a beautiful chapel; I am very glad you shared it with me. Early in the video you mentioned churches which are defensive and some which are aggressive. When I was a young adolescent I noticed that many of the protestant churches where I lived had pamphlets on the wall in their foyers; always, about eighty to ninety percent of the pamphlets were about why and how others were wrong. I remember staring at these pamphlet holders on the wall and feeling strongly that they should be teaching the good things; teach me about Jesus. Not only did their negative teaching not have the result they desired on me, it helped me understand early on, one cannot teach the truth of God by focusing on real or perceived flaws in others. One teaches Christ by focusing on Christ and drawing near to Christ.

I am a fourth generation member of the Church if Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Part of the reason I have stayed active is because of the sacrifice of my pioneer ancestors. They sacrificed everything to join the church. They knew and understood who Christ is and the purpose of the restoration of Christ's church as do I.

I love those old chapels! How fun and interesting to wander around and find the back of the organ especially while it’s playing! So cool! I love your perspective so much because you have experienced more churches out there than most people ever experience. You can then know for your self what is out there to find your “home” so to speak. We as Latter-day Saints ARE taught to love like Jesus Christ loved others, to follow him and those he sent to lead us to him. It’s SUCH a miraculous blessing to know truth. Even though life can still have its difficult times and trials, we can know who to turn to for peace. You are a good man and have a bright spirit. Thank you for these videos. They are enlightening!

Thanks for being a tour guide for us. You go to so many places I've never been aware of, it really helps me see the color and faith of the country. What you don't get in a brief visit, as you pointed out, is the deep sense of belonging, love, and sacrifice that develops when growing and living in a congregation for a long time. Boys grow to men, girls bloom into talent and faith, old share stories and teach. Personal quirks, weaknesses, change and growth, service to each other in hardship, ... People wonder about problems in "church culture", but really at the root is this Bond of loyalty love and family that has lent strength to the members, the line between faith and tradition blurs a bit. I hope all get a chance to stay in one ward long enough to experience the joy, and even the challenges, and learn to apply/develop true charity for your neighbors.

I've been binge-watching some of your old videos today! I don't know a whole lot about other churches other than my own. I really appreciate the comment you have made about our Church! One of my daughters serve in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission before she came home last year so hearing you are rom Wisconsin peaked my interest in your channel as well. Thank you for you research. I feel like I can have a deeper understanding of my cousins in Christ! I want to comment on something so have noticed throughout your videos that has really been amazing! I see a glimmer in your eye and excitement in your voice when you talk about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints compared to some of the other places you have been. I see your light increase the more you study with the Church. I really hope you take the time to ask Heavenly Father, in prayer, about it's truthfulness. I was at the Manti Temple open house before and after you visited there. We live in the Manti Temple district so it's our temple. The second time I went through I saw the cardinal in the garden room you spoke of and I smiled. I took have felt God's love in small and simple ways. When we lived in the South, it was always a special experience for me to see a cardinal. I never noticed it before in all my years of attending the Manti Temple, because of how far back it is in the room. Thank you for making that experience for me more memorable!

I've been a member for 55 years. In this time I've been single and married. Single life can be difficult because the focus is on the family, getting to and from Church, and not losing their kid in the parking lot. This is a bit silly but I learned I had to put myself out there and let members know I am available and willing to do things. Helping lets people know you're there. And they remember you when they see you next, at least I hope so. I'm not saying it's easy. I was 22 and single when I first joined the Church and I really felt lost at times. I really wished I had my family to lean on but that was not meant to be. Feeling alone and lonely is very hard on one's spirit. I wish there was an easy answer to this. Please know that you can always reach out as you have in this post. Take Care.@@DesertPrimrose

Your perspective is so gracious. I appreciate all of it. I was raised LDS and it’s just easy to get to that take it for granted space

This building is pretty special to my family. My great grandparents, grandparents and mother attended church there starting from the time of its opening. I remember sliding down the banister outside of the building when I was a kid while attending church with my grandparents. Do you know where I might be able to get a copy of the old black and white photo you showed? It’s so cool. It is my understanding that building in the neighborhood around this church was by invitation only but I am not sure this is true. I also heard it was primarily a German Branch at one time. Thank you for another great video. I loved hearing the organ play again! Keep searching for the truth. I believe you will find it. It sounds like you may already have. 😊

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so thankful for the opportunity to feel the Spirit of the Lord often. Especially when I try to follow The Savior and when I serve others. I love the gospel, it means the world to me!

Thank you for your insights and kindness. It has been interesting to learn about the many churches featured in your videos. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and very much appreciate the work you are doing. I Hope you will visit Nauvoo Illinois during the Nauvoo and British Pageants. I think you may enjoy the performances. They are very uplifting and full of our history. Thank you for all you do to unify people of all faiths.

I am heading to Manti from Bountiful March 23rd. This is a favorite temple of mine so I am very excited. I also want to see the beautiful blue sealing room where I witnessed my eldest son's wedding in 1995. This is a very special temple! Worth your time.

I’ve watched quite a few of your videos and it’s interesting to hear your perspectives coming from outside of the LDS church. I also listen to David Alexander who has a channel about his experience investigating and spoiler alert, joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after investigating lots of different Christian denominations. I’m curious if you have seen any of his videos. Thanks for sharing about your experiences!

We don’t nitpick, we don’t entertain, we love and lift you up. You become a better person. Not culty at all. I’ve been told, that my entire life and if you knew me personally, you’d understand nobody tells me what to do. I do it of my own free will. We raised our children in the church and they’ve all maintained and kept their faith into their adult lives. It’s benefitted us greatly and helped us through some very difficult situations. Whatever your choice, thank you for representing us as normal people. You have a very genuine nature about yourself and I pray you find what you’re looking for. At the end of the day, it’s about your Savior Jesus Christ.

I recognized that first scene at City Creek's fountain. ❤ My family and I have spent many memorable times there since it opened. And we loved the dome church. It reminds me of the Ogden, UT Temple celestial room, but it's missing natural light. If you do happen to go to the Manti Temple Open House, my step-brother has been the chief engineer there for several years. Before that, he worked at the Rexburg, Idaho Temple 16 years ago when it was first built. I'm sure there will be many people there to help you, but if you need any more help...I can try to get you in touch with him. We reserved tickets for the first week of April. Hope to see a video if you are able to make it!
