A lot of reactors hate Sansa for saying she doesn't remember what happened, I'm so glad you tried to see it from her point of view! It would have indeed been bad for her, as a future queen (a wife of this pathetic cruel prince), to call him what he is. In the books we actually get to see her thoughts, and Sansa is 1) eleven (thirteen in the show, but here she behaves in the same way as her younger book counterpart) 2) she has been raised by loving protective parents who never thought to warn her about how cruel those in power can be 3) all her life she has dreamt of becoming a character in songs and stories about brave knight and fair maidens. It's very hard for her to accept that life is not a song, and it must be heartbreaking for her to go through this realization. And now her puppy has been killed, even though she lied for Joffrey. I hate Robert the most, honestly, for not saying anything to Cersei when she suggest murdering Lady. He's a king but does nothing because he's too scared of his wife lmao. You can even see how disappointed Ned is at his once friend. You will learn more about the fall of the Targaryen empire, but some things fall victim to the format of the show (we don't get flashbacks, we can't hear people's thoughts and memories etc.). You can learn more about this topic and others by watching Histories and Lore after each season. They are free on YT and you can just not edit the reaction at all. They are great if you're into the deeper lore stuff and I think they help you understand the world better as well. Some of them do spoil HOTD though (I think the later ones, season 1 is definitely safe to watch).

Jorah Mormant wasn't actually loyal to the Targaryns. He was one of the Stark Bannermen that fought against them. He was at the Battle where Daenerys and Viserys's older brother Rhaegar was killed, fighting for Robert and Ned. The only reason he's come to them now is because he broke the law and was sentenced to die by Ned. Essentially, he had no place else to go.

Facts: 1. The Kingsroad, where the sad events of the episode take place, is the largest road in Westeros and the only road that connects the North to other regions. This road was paved by King Jaehaerys l, who you might have seen at the beginning of s1e1 HoTD. 2. Just after the North begins the Riverlands, ruled by the Tully family. The Tullys are the family of Lady Catelyn and her sister. 3. The Kingsguard is created by Queen Visenya Targaryen, modeled after the Night's Watch. Therefore, the Royal Knights have their own color (white), take a vow of chastity, and swear not to have a wife or children. 4. The Lannisters rule the Westlands, a small region in the west of Westeros. Their lands are rich in gold deposits, and they also rule Lannisport, the third largest city in the country. All of this makes the Lannisters the richest men of their time. 5. Daenerys and Viserys' father was Aerys ll, known as the "Mad King" for his cruelty, paranoia and love of fiery torture. 6. Daenerys is not the only one in the lineage to bear this name. There were at least two other Targaryen princesses with that name. The first was the daughter of King Jaehaerys l, she died as a child. The second was the sister of King Daeron ll, who helped annex Dorne to the Seven Kingdoms.

Something you might not know is that rhaeynras mother was an Arryn, her grandmother, Daella Targeryon had to choose a husband, some of the choices was a Blackwood, one showed up in episode 4 in HoTD the kid that killed that Bracken, she was smitten by him, her age and handsome, but house blackwood worship the old gods, and she didn’t like them, another was a Lannister considered one of the most handsome, but I think he was a little too forward so she also said no and then Lord Arryn came, he was older and already had 4 kids, but she said he was, nice, gentle and had patience with her, and also said the he waited 1yr or 2 until she was ready to consummate the marriage, she was actually a lot like Helena, mentioned that she, was pretty, shy, childish and, scared of a lot of thing, and not the smartest, a gentle soul, and suffered a fate same as her daughter Aemma

They are my favorite reaction videos, and you don't have to edit them, they can be posted as is. Many people seem not to like them, but I love the tellings of the histories in the voices of the different characters, from different perspectives.

"He's not going to see her again. It's for life, they said." - Well, his uncle was allowed to come and visit so he'll be able to do the same but Arya is going south to the capital so there are good chances she'll grow up, marry and move away for good before they get to meet again. Ned is not going there for just a couple of weeks, that's a serious job he's taking.

A note. In the books Kal Drogo does not force Daenerys, the scene is much more tender and consensual. Reading some episodes of GOT is very enriching, as is watching Lore 1 when you finish this season 1

IMO Sansa in this episode can be legitimately analyzed/criticized in terms of what her choices and reactions say about her character at this point in the story, but as far as whether they affect what actually happens, ie, is any of it her fault? Nah, I truly don't think so. Mycah would have been murdered regardless of any testimony because the Hound was already out there looking for him on Lannister orders before the trial started. And Cersei was going to have a scapegoat pay for her precious son getting injured no matter what. She first wanted it to be ARYA, but the reality was that Robert wouldn't be inclined to have his best friend's little girl maimed even if she had been the attacker, and also that he doesn't care about it enough to not just want to be done with it, so sure, just kill a damn wolf, any wolf. The version of this scene where Sansa does The Right Thing is one where we like her better in that moment, but imo still not one that has any happy ending.

Joffrey was very annoying in the first few episodes, as a teenager. (mild spoiler) fortunately, he quickly grew out of it

If you think in terms of the Baratheon being a usurper then the Targaryens themselves were usurpers of the thrones of all those different regions they had nothing to do with before Aegon I's conquest. Like yeah they lost their throne, boohoo hahaha maybe they should have kept it better.

I highly recommend watching the lore of season 1 after you finish it. The father of Viserys and Daenerys was "the mad king", there's a reason why he was killed and the Targaryens were exiled, trust me. House of the Dragon is set during the time where the Targaryens were at the high of their power and influence, but after the Dance of the Dragons (the war that will happen between team black and team green) the dragons had been destroyed to almost extinction and the Targaryens never recovered their influence again, they only grew weaker.

I've never seen a reactor do GoT who had seen HoTD. I'm here for it! Team Green! Team Lannister!

lmfao the sansa fans ksjkdj. it’s heartbreaking in the books that this kid is so butchered that his father thinks it’s pig meat, and only Arya feels how unfair and cruel that is, and is in depression alone bc no one else cares. But sure it must be heartbreaking to sansa that her perfect world shatters a little even though in the books she still enjoys herself in KingsLanding and no she doesn’t have that strong if a relationship with Joffrey at all she is just obsessed with being a part of this world and being a queen and marrying joffrey and has his babies. Not blaming her for having a fairytale world or not seeing joffrey ad cersei for who they are at all. But i’ve been across a lot of fans who blame arya entirely for everything when that kid was LITERALLY killed and butchered and it shows how no one in that world not even ned cared that much. It’s literally only Arya and she gets blamed for it, and Sansa is extremely more pitied bc poor her her world shattered a little bit and she is such a kid blablabla. And the perfect sansa didn’t give a fuck at all because she is classist and she still enjoyed kings landing a lot. It was Arya who was in depression the whole time, feeling guilty. And let’s not forget that Jeyne who is Sansa’s friend in the books does things for sansa and make arya feel bad abt herself since she is just a steward’s daughter. She literally jokes about the death of that kid to arya and sansa blames arya entirely. Looking at everyone’s pov and understanding their part is okay but you have to look at it in an objective way too, go out of yourself and see the whole picture and it’s about doing what’s right. It’s crazy that only Arya feels and cares about this situation and she didn’t like cersei and joffrey anyway but after this situation she doesn’t even more. Which she is smart for it. Sansa still idealizes them and shifts the entire blame to her not perfect little sister just so she won’t blame joffrey and cersei and ruin her desires and rosy world. Arya is miles in the right. And it’s only the direwolf that it’s killed so we all should feel more sorry for that and sansa rather than the actual little boy, his father, and arya who is in deep depression about it, the only one who cared. This fandom is ridiculous when it comes to sansa.
