Doesn't matter if it "looks" accidental. If the official believes it was intentional (possibly based on actions or language used earlier in the game, or possibly based only on the immediate situation), she will make the call-& be supported.

Absolutely, it was a charge. I'm surprised the commentators didn't say anything about the blatant elbow she threw while running over the defender. The female commentator tried pretending it was incidental contact with the ref. It was so obvious and yet it took almost 10 minutes to announce the call. I like some NCAA women's college basketball, UConn particularly. I don't really care for the wnba. This is truly the first video I've seen of the wnba all season. In my opinion, women's college basketball is a much better game to watch.

Therefore, I still maintain it was a charge, but no foul was called on her for that infraction until she decided to assault the ref by throwing her shoulder into her. I respect your opinion. I just saw it differently.

Imagine if this was a playoff game . . . or specifically, if the game was closer? It would be very hard for them to eject Arike, if the Wings weren't up by 9 with less than a minute to go. If this were a 3 point game, she may have not received anything.

What’s the basketball player did was obvious in the replay. She threw her left shoulder into the ref on purpose. Be honest with yourself and rewatch the video. This is the schoolyard stunt it is meant to be subtle so as not to get the attention of a teacher. You could actually see her throw her shoulder into the Referee.

Lol i didn’t do nothing , I mean in the moment after a hard contact the ref did step toward where she was generally heading and the player didn’t make an effort to step away from ref , and it looked like a slight shoulder turn , kinda like I’m not changing the direction I’m walking for you

That female announcer is so full of it. The player definitely initiated and made contact as a message to the ref. Quit simping whom ever you are.

you did what you did, we can all see it on the replays girl. The coaching staff coming up to you and discrediting the hit towards the official and smiling at the situation are not helping your evolution as a player and as a person, they are just helping you play the victim, and its a very ugly game to play.

The dallas player not only shoulder bumped the ref but remained in her path for several frames.

She absolutely did it on purpose. She could have turned toward the goal but no. She should be ejected, fined , and suspended 10 games. If she ever does it again, banned for life!!
