But I think the real question is will he be able to take charge and speak up to the players when he needs to (which he has shown he is not afraid to do as a broadcaster at least) and balance the egos in the locker room (including his own).

The more important hire for the Lakers is the training staff to try and prevent or help with injuries. They need a world class staff like Phoenix always had a reputation for.

The 1st thing he needs to do and the most important is putting an experience coaching staff together because he has no experience as a coach 2nd thing is to start a relationship with the players especially AD 3rd thing is to use that 17th pick to choose a player that can help now and 4th thing is create a play book heavy on AD plays,use what worked from last year and scratch everything else
