They're jealous of her publicity and her endorsements, they think she is getting more than she deserves it seems, but the public has responded to Caitlin's play and how she conducts herself. That's the way more players can cash in like this.
Taurasi is a bit of a fossil, she started her narrative while commentating during March Madness. It seemed odd that Taurasi had such a stance on a young player, in retrospect it feels like she was building a narrative for CC to be left off. Really CC is not talking about it, these women should let it go. At this point I am actually happy CC is not on the olympic team, these women are toxic, it will be better for CC to go in as a leader the next go around and let this team do what ever they are going to do. It is sad that they all feel the need to bully a young player in the media, when that player is just trying to ball.
Good point. And, she is fourth on the list, for all players, this year Tied with Stewart, for blocks per game average. And, 90%, from free- throw line. .
@@monimoni305Except the fact of the matter is they would sacrifice nothing putting Clark on the team. Stats show shed play as well as any other G on the team
@@monimoni305DT isn’t the best at her position and shouldn’t be on the team. I don’t care that CC isn’t on it, moreso the lack of consistency in the narrative around it from the players. There are probably 6-7 better guards than DT
No. Britany Griner should NOT be on the team. She played one game. She has a broken toe. She carried illegal substances to Russia (illegal for the WNBA, too), was sentenced to 9 years in prison, US had a prisoner exchange to get her home. She said publically she would never stand for the anthem, and stayed in the locker room. She should be ineligible to represent team USA. Everyone knows Caitlyn deserved it for what she brought to the league. Plus a great opportunity for her to learn. But the Diana’s and A’jas are so jealous of a 22 year old rookies success that they cited 1) fan distraction, 2) WNBA schedule would have her miss a couple practices (remember Britney isn’t even playing) , 3) her fans won’t understand her limited playing, and 4) some other girls on the team didn’t want her. I kid you not. Those were THE reasons they actually used to justify keeping her off the team. In my opinion, you put her on, take Britney off, and replace anyone who has a problem with it - even the coach.
@@TT-tp9hwso much for being decorated for being on NBA Welfare 😂 how is that something to be proud of? Their league did not earn, it is a liabilty for 20+ years and is losing 50 mil for 2024 😂
@@jackhowarth3168 Hypocrite much? DT played her first USA team game at 22, same age as CC. DT was fresh out of college, same as CC. CC broke the college records, DT did not. CC just broke the WNBA rookie records, DT did not. CC brings the biggest fan base in over 23 years, DT brings the fan base down. Want the WNBA to grow? You need fans, fans = money. DT is on record for hating straight people and CC is straight.
Taurasi is too worried about her rookie records going down... As for the Olympic team, stat wise she is one of the top ten guards... Draw wise for viewing she is top dog.... Taurasi said the player have to gel and get along... in that case Clark definitely does not fit in with these jealous bitter women...
The reason why the media is always asking these players and coaches about Clark is because they are hoping for a sound bite that will stir the pot so they get the views.
We finally see that the WNBA is basically the modern version of 1950s female roller derby with all the dirty play and cat-fighting. If Caitlin is smart she'll leave for Europe after this season and get away from this poison, that may also leave her with career-ending injuries. Then the WNBA will be back to the zero fan interest that they deserve.
AGREED. much as I'd miss Caitlin Clark, i wouldn't blame her for leaving! her Nike deal would go south, though, because she'd lose all that coverage and it would affect her brand.. and then all these haters would say 'she couldn't cut it' to spin it just to be right.. long as she stays she'll continue to silence the doubters
I have never watched WNBA or the WNBA olympics until Caitlyn Clark came into the picture. Unfortunately I will not be watching WNBA olympics without Caitlyn Clark.
If your going to comment on players in WNBA at least know who the players are and how to pronounce their names. I laughed everything you said lonski. Idiot.
Caitlin Clark is breathtaking and very fascinating to watch. Her demeanor speaks for it. She is very humble and professional. She is a great role model to the kids.
Big difference when the person you leave off the team is the NCAA Women's and Men's scoring records holder, and about 20 more records that she's broken...BIG DIFFERENCE!!! Not to mention the 2 million plus fans she has following her.
Yeah, but there are no letter Ls in Ionescu. It’s a Romanian surname that starts with the letter I (as in “eye”). Ionescu had an outstanding college and professional career, and her name has been in the national conversation for at least 6 or 7 years. So, if you’re going to report on the WBNA, you will improve your credibility if you will learn how to pronounce names.
The only reason the other WNBA players keep commenting about Clark is because reporters keep asking them questions about her. It is getting exhausting at this point to keep seeing them try to push the same narrative down our throats.
She is Christ-like. She is a CHRIST BELIEVER. She is TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED. God has her. She is doing such a great job. She's not scared of people's evil ways. She is untouchable. She has GOD ON HER SIDE. SHE WILL BE BLESS GREATLY.
Caitlin clark is shooting terribly from the field, people dont talk about that.. she's nearly taking 13 shots per game and only making 4 of them.. the rest is just free throws,, she takes 8 3pts per game and only makes 2 out of the 8.. the fans doesn't matter to WNBA females they still get paid to win so they don't care about how much attraction she brings...
We need to stop clicking on these videos. We are helping them to push their narrative and hate. CC did not make a big deal about it at all and i really don't view the comments as being negative either
If you look at her stats then you'll see that she's been one of the best in the league at her position. She's still playing well and putting up solid stats.
@@amynanos7756 break DT's stats down over 20 years, or her first 10 seasons...or her last 10 years. If you forgot about her it's because you haven't been watching. It's fine that you haven't, but don't take your disinterest to discredit what DT has done. And she's still productive at 42. And please don't speak on what she's doing now if you're not watching Mercury games.
Didn't sound like Taurasi was throwing shade at all . She was asked a question, and she gave he perspective on the matter. The media is really pushing a narrative, and it seems the online internet media is doing the same unfortunately.
media is always the problem. players need to remain neutral like Caitlin and just play. as soon as the talk dies down the game will get more interesting and entertaining - but we all know this is how the media survives and thrives.😐
Clark didn't deserve to make the US Olympic team despite the hundreds of thousands of white middle aged MAGA men who claim otherwise. If they stopped just a second to not worship their ringless deity they might realize Clark is actually mostly an inefficient turnover machine and not even the best player on her team, let alone top 20 in the league. Taurasi is superior even at 42 years old and always has been with multiple rings on every level, years of international success (including 6 Euroleague titles), and is an easy choice to make the team yet again in spite of the whining of casual Clark crybabies everywhere.
Taurasi was on the Olympic team, without international experience. On her first Olympics playing. So, other players without that experience should be added, too. A rule change needs to be made, by the Wnba. There are players in the Wnba who have higher free-throw averages. And, higher scoring averages, per attempts . Then players, on the team
The rule change would help players who have been playing, in the first 10 games of this basketball season. If the other players start after that, the current players who put minutes and games in could play. The players who were added the last week of the list, were already considered over every other player. But, even players with higher stats don't get on the team. They only want Team USA basketball or Olympic experience. Players McBride, Min, number one in 3-pointers or Hamby, L A, second n the league in rebounds have to wait, until they get experience required. And, didn't get on the team. But , they can play on the All-Star game, in July. 👍👍
Taurasi is a first generation college graduate. Her family is from Argentina. Catlin played in Argentina 🇦🇷, Hungary and Thailand while in High School. Nancy Libermann should know how this works.
This is an old interview June 11 versus June 19 - are you sure you are not fanning flames needlessly by reheating the interview and implying that it is new?
Exactly. This whole video was a reach. I guess it’s for clicks and very and like you said fanning flames. Nothing wrong with what any of them had to say. Smh
@@bwill3337 Didn't catch that one. Was probably typing while he was talking. Plus he mispronounces the majority of most words lol. Hard to catch them all
@@JuanHughJorgan 🤣he does🤣. But if you've been watching the w, it's pretty hard to miss who Kahlea Copper is. She's been on a roll. 5 straight 30+ point games. Now if he mispronounced Ogunbuwale, ok I get it🤣.
This new fan base is exciting thank you for growing the league that Caitlin is a box office attraction she’s smashing tv ratings and attendance records too bad she’s not representing our country in the Olympics ❤
What a lot of people are forgetting is two things...1, CC is not that upset about it, she is taking it in stride. 2.Which leads to #1, CC has been playing and practicing since probably last Sept. She needs the time off and try to get set for her current job.... that is being a pro bballer.
Diana didn’t say Caitlin wasn’t good enough, you must’ve wanted her to say that so bad, that’s what you heard. There’s a bunch of players good enough, that’s just who they chose. I’m glad a little that CC ain’t going this time. She’ll get there!!!
There has been a lot of talk about CC not making the Olympic Team. I wonder if any the players who did make the list were worried if CC makes the list who has to sit on the sidelines and watch from the bleachers. One of the most important things that come to my mind with CC and proves that she is a player with class is that she has not spoken about not making the team. She is not the one complaining about hard knocks and negative remarks towards her. There are times when not reacting is what pisses the haters off more than anything. Her reaction is to continue to play hard and do what she does giving it her best, and not caving in.
So either she’s saying they can’t play as a team with her because either A. They refuse to play nicely with her or B. They would rather take people they have played with before (this is the most generous interpretation I can make).
Nah. This is a bs interpretation and just a drama post video. This commentary from Taurasi is 100% accurate and no shade at all. Which is in stark contrast from the previous garbage commentary she made about her own inclusion as a rookie and the "three championships" comment, which was absolutely shade and not even a good argument.
Giving up on the best players narrative it is now the best fit. Well some people don't fit because they made sure to create enough negative energy to make them a bad fit. From: Top 12, plus legacy, plus experience, plus chemistry, plus can handle tough internationals, plus went to camp (that was scheduled during NCAA tournament). To: Best fit, plus legacy, plus experience, plus chemistry, plus can handle tough internationals, plus went to camp (that was scheduled during the NCAA tournament).
NO one in the media has mentioned the fact that Taurasi made the Olympic team her rookie year. It has also been the case, about 50/50 that the number one WNBA draft pick makes the Olympic team on an Olympic year. Also sir Charles did make the Dream Team for the 92 Olympic team. and Isiah was kept off by Jordan. Go do some research for crying out loud. Ask the Dang Google!!!
Also Isiah was kept off because he was seen as the ring leader of the bad boy Pistons. They really made enemies in the league. So politics does play a role in your selection, I'm not a huge CC fan, but I do feel bad for CC. She has been excluded through no fault of her own, but because the media hype pissed off the vets in the WNBA
The committee already said "They didn't want the distraction." From a business standpoint it was awful. Your league sucks financially and you miss the opportunity to expose the world to something to market. Emotions....if you can't check them you are not mature or of sound mind.
Sabrina is on the Olympic team, who ,imo, is just better version of what CC is, right now. We have 2 Curry'esque players in the league and Sabrina is just more adept. She's a seasoned player of the Pro League league and has adjusted her game to the league. Sabrina's worked on her defense this season, her movement without the ball is better, she makes screens for her team mates on offense, and can create her own shot. CC has good passes and a Logo shot, and?
I think in the long run not being on the team this go around will help CC. Might give her an extra bit of motivation and more importantly give her some rest. She's been going non stop since the NCAA's.
"The surge of interest in the WNBA is not about Caitlin Clark." The closest WNBA team to me is in Arlington. I could get tickets for their next home games for $16 (vs Minnesota), $16 (Phoenix), $20 (Atlanta, 4th of July weekend), or $21 (Los Angeles). Even tickets for the champs the last two years (Las Vegas) are an easy $30. Or, I could wait until the next time Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are in town. On a Wednesday in the middle of July. Cheapest available ticket: $105
The Wnba should step- in, next time, and change or make a new rule. If a player's current percentages scored, minutes and games played is higher this year, than the other players, last year, the new players should be added. McCowan and Siegrist, Dal, both have 55.3% and a 52.2% scoring average, per game. McBride, top for 3-pointers, and 91.5% average for free-throws Magrebor, Sea, 91.5% for free-throws The decision to add extra players was after 10 games played, I believe. Adding players that weren't playing for 10 games or more shows that the other two ,who weren't playing, were already selected. Before the season began. Because, the season wasn't counted at all, for players with minutes and 10 games played.
I actually think she was saying putting the best "TEAM" and I believe most of the players would not accept her as a teammate so it wouldn't be about building a team. I think she should be on there, but I don't think that was what Diana Taurasi saying.
There is precedence that Geno and others have forgotten…. Three of the four WNBA rookies since 1996 that were put Team USA were UConn players and they were not one of the 12 best on the team. The one not from UConn was Candace Parker who was later snubbed.. You watch the 96 team USA documentary and see how Lobo struggled. And Arike told one of the podcasts recently that she withdrew her name two months ago bcuz of the politics of that selection. Sadly, folks are fussing about the new fans they desperately need, not looking at this year as a business opportunity to grow the league and get more eyes on team USA.. The W leadership and its players both current and former will be who folks will place blame to when the dust settles and the revenues flatten back down to previous years. This rookie class is a part of your league and they are bringing their fans from college with them. And this league has done nothing to prepare for it and to embrace it. Especially the players. You don’t see the drama around Wemby in the NBA like you seeing here. That’s because David Stern groomed Adam Silver to run the NBA as a business and entertainment entity and not base it on merit, feelings, and rookie hazing.. And if this league and women supporters don’t think men should be telling their stories or how to run their business, then tap into the best and brightest businesswomen for guidance. Nobody is talking about that. You can Google the top businesswomen in this country and find them…. But there is an underlying problem here that is one or all of the things that have been said over the last several weeks. Who is going to woman enough to put ego and pride aside to acknowledge it and then fix it????
This is like if Jordan didn't make the team. And tell that dude we do not have to respect anything they did. I think Clark is a player that just wants to play basketball in a league that cares more about pushing social issues.
