Manie is a nice guy with a problem and he must work on his mentality and confidence skills. But, that missed kick was not the reason why the Boks lost against the Pumas. Rassie was at fault for selecting Moerat as the Captain again. Sorry, he is not the future for SA rugby. He again failed to keep the guys together when things were tuff. He is also the reason why the Stormers did not perform well in the URC.

And he was rightly told he was kak. And guess what, he was dropped and had to EARN HIS SPOT BACK. Manie getting teachers pet privileges her because i guaranfuxkingtee you if he was a white player he'd be dropped but because of quotas rassie is forced to have him in the squad.

He has missed many important kicks. Against Argentina he also overcooked a kick for touch. The reality is that he is not a good kicker for post, which Rassie seems to have now accepted, but now handing the kicking duties to another non-kicker.

Agreed Manie is such a talent that he will settle down given time and experience going forward..depth is our strength which took many painful years to develop and Rassie had the brass donkeys to say well okay enough now I'm picking whoever is the best on merit and he has done just that with results that are not surprising frankly with a great diversity of ball players to now choose from..frankly as a so called white I want to add how boring the old Springboks were which is no longer the case and each match has the entire country on edge...on the field we are united together and boy it's just damn fantastic and long overdue indeed..I hope we can find each other and build trust and confidence in each other..doing this we will take our rightful place as a country as a nation..that my dear people is to be on top..to build our country from here together until we reach the top...love you all...

True but pollard was dropped and had to prove himself at club level before returning. No teachers pet kak. Also pollard at his worst had a 69% success rate. Manie currently has a 42%success rate for the boks on place kicking. But allas handre is white and was dropped. Manie can kiss saru's ass for the quota system. He's the only quota player there at the moment. The rest actually earned their starts

I disagree, sort of. SFM probably has more potential, but in terms of attacking in play, Libbok is probably more controlled at the moment. In saying that, SFM is young, and when he calms down he will be great!

Scalk speaking the honest truth, in wc pollard would be the one who came from the bench,, it was a test for libbok he now know wat is real pressure so im sure he wil appreciate the next games more were he is starting a game and wil slot the kicks as that pressure wil feel like nothing compared to what he felt on this last kick.

We love and appreciate Manie but I have to make a correction. It’s not that Manie is inconsistent as a kicker, he’s just outright terrible. He’s good at a lot so we know what we get from him, thinking you can change him is when shit hits the fan.

If he's so terrible than he wouldn't have a 80% conversion rate at the Stormers. It's like he's scared to fail at the Boks and overthinks it which causes him to miss. I will still choose him in my team any day of the week. It's either you go for 3 pointers or 5/7 pointers,I choose the latter

Lets be honest. Manie is a much better player than Jean ever was. Coming from an oppressed background and all. Maniel is an exciting and creative player. It shows why Rassie is a successful coach and Jean a commentator.

The best kicker in the team should take the kicks at goal. It doesn’t matter what position he plays in. I think back to the Scotland team of the 1970s. Peter Brown the Captain and No. 8 took the kicks at goal leaving him with the honour of being the highest scoring Scottish rugby forward. It a not a law of rugby that the fly half or full back have to be the kick taker.

The heading is misleading. Jean did not have harsh criticism of Manie, he simply pointed out some issues regarding his play vs his goal kicking which are valid. I hope people leave Manie to continue his path after his brilliant performance in Mbombela. He is a gem who has a long Springbok career ahead of him.

It is easy to blame Libok and not Rassie. It is not the first time SA is dependent on kicks at the last minutes. How many times SA has won by minimal differences? Sometimes we're lucky. So, the South African dominance is not as clear as it was New Zealand at the best times. I am a huge fan of South Africa, but I don't align at fuss around Rassie. New Zealand, with 14 men was better than SA in the World Cup. SA has brilliant players, but I don't see their full potential with Rassie. Losing to Argentina last week was too bad, and the arguments that excuse the defeat are poor. I hope the players can deliver despite the constraints posed by the coach

Your comment about NZ vs South Africa is not comparing like with like. With Marx out and SA losing Bongi (which I believe was premediated by NZ), SA lost its key strength and the 7 - 1 split was reduced to a 6 - 1 split a few minutes into the game. SA outplayed NZ during the first half of the RWC final and NZ outplayed SA in the second half. I agree that Rassie is not the be all and end all, but plaudits to him for what he has achieved with the Boks. It seems that Rassie made a strategic error with the RWC game against England because they knew before that the game would be played in the rain.

I agree he has had enough chances. And now to make things easier for him by relieving him of kicking duty and giving it to another non-kicker does not make sense. Kickers should have at least 70% success rate at international level.

i think manie needs to work on a new kicking routine!...You can't use an entire minute to focus and by the time you need to kick half the focus is gone and then you miss...look at pollard,ramos,sacha,barret and a few other flyhalves that kicks under 15/20 secs and they're on target!.I believe a new kicking routine for manie will help him

All of them has missed easy kicks in their careers more than once so I don't know why kicking is the be all and end all. Mounga is a good place kicker but he missed an easy kick in the Final. Sexton missed an easy kick in the QF. Missing kicks is not a new thing

You never play rugby just a talker People will be born with talent and stumbling blocks will come but through perseverance and believe will become a big player. When Manie help the Boks with that Kick against Scotland in the World Cup He was the best. Failing is also part of our character to become a star in life. So give him a chance as they where Give Jacques Kallis in cricket and he became a great all rounder. Manie is still young and He will proof all you haters wrong. God will come through for him. He is a born Rugby player but failing in life is part of it and a package to become a great player. 😢😢😢

Why is everyone upset about the criticism of Libbock. He has been inconsistent and average. He was average at u20 level as well. Had a poor season with Stormers. Has had a problem with kicking for so long. Only reason he has been given chances is due to quotas.
