Descending from the top to the bottom station of lift Westhang on the blue loop. The descent is only 90 meters but this run offers some nice variation. It crosses a road and a tobogganing area and ends on a forest trail with a sharp turn. The weather was so so with low cloud and light thaw causing slightly wet snow.
Ski resort Altastenberg is the 4th largest resort in the Sauerland hills (North Rhine-Westphalia and Hessen states, Germany) after Winterberg, Willingen and Altastenberg. It offers some nice (mostly) red and blue runs, 8 km in total. Most lifts are T-bars but there is one chairlift serving the eastern half of the resort. The area can easily be reached from Winterberg by free shuttlebus.
