For modern skate shoe prices, these types of insoles should be standard. Curious to see if you think they are worth the price.

Yeah I agree, they seem great and I've seen accounts of other skaters using a pair for years and interchanging them. Funny I never really looked at the stock insoles before kind of a shock really. I'll keep updating my experience, thanks for watching homie!❤🛹🤘

If your looking for a skate shoe with really good insoles I would definitely recommend the Nike sb Chiron 2, Nike really stepped up their insole game on that one

Hi Scott, I used to skate in Converse Chuck Taylors for years but they have little cushioning from every angle so I bought both vans mid boots and Nike blazers a couple years ago and they felt better cushioned by comparison. Last year I then started wearing Vans Comfy Cush mid boots which were better still . Since the end of last year my heels both hurt for about 3 days after a weekend street sesh although I only skate down the 3 steps so no big impact although I’m almost 48 so I guess it’s equivalent to much bigger steps back in my teens. I bought a pair of the FP Gamechanger insoles after I’d heard some great things about them from friends, I followed the instructions of putting them in the oven then fitting and wearing them to mould to my foot. For a couple days they felt a little uncomfortable but that soon settled. Sadly whatever was already going on with my right heel became aggravated and although I reverted back to my standard vans insoles I’ve now had a constant pain for a few months just in my right heel which has caused a nice little painful limp when walking and pain in my right knee as a knock on effect. The doc recons the introduction of a higher arch aggravated what was already injured so although I haven’t written off the Gamechangers I need to get myself sorted first before I dare change them back. The vans compy Cush insoles now go in my Nike Blazers and also work boots and I have arranged to see a specialist through my works occupational health. Laid off skating for a couple months but past 2 weekends I’ve got back out on the board but taking it slightly easier. I’m Regular so have found when I’m trying tricks on the steps/ledges my back/ right foot is the one that slips off and takes the heel impact in the corner surface. This isn’t a poo poo at Footprint in any way as I think they are extremely cushioned and I’m hoping to go back using them but just sharing my current situation 🤟🏻👊🏻

Hey Simon thanks for sharing your experience, I did get these because of the improved heel cup and impact absorption. I didn't even consider the arch thing. So far no problems but with me no existing problems going into it. Sorry to hear about that man I hope you heal fast brother! ❤

@@scott.skates , that’s cool. I had a phone consultation today through works occupational health and they have booked me in to assess what’s the best treatment but suspect it’s plantar fasciitis. I did get out Sunday morning but kept it light. Feel free to take a look as I edited the sesh up as always. If nothing else I want my little grandson to know his Gramps was once badass when he’s all grown up 🤣

I am not sure about the insoles but I love the socks and the elbow pads, the socks feel a bit strange at first but after you ride around a bit they start to form fit around the ankle and shin the elbow pads are nice because they are thin and sleek looking they almost look like a sleeve and both take impact very well been hit in the shin several times by my board and although you still feel it a bit it doesn't leave a mark. If I can get my ollies down better perhaps I will pickup a pair of the insoles.

Yeah I have the shin guards it’s almost like wearing nothing at all. I have been considering the elbow pads and knee pads as the ones I have now are bit clunky comparatively but still pretty stealth I just dig the FP material. As far as the insoles so far I’ve never had skate shoes be this comfortable and the best part is I’m not giving up board feel like I thought I would. ❤🛹

@scottskateboarding living in Portland Nike home. They blocked vans from building a huge park downtown Portland. Around 2000 Nike still hasn't built a park in their city

@@korosuchimu1479 looks like a 15m public park is in the works for the PDX. Been on the books since 2001 seems to coincide with the whole vans pay to play park. Couldn’t find anything about Nike blocking vans, doesn’t mean it’s not true.🤷🏽‍♂️But this one is public. Good things come to those who wait I guess. Fun fact Nike donated $250k to Portland parks and recreation for funding parks in 2006. I looked and didn’t see vans doing anything for Portland.🤷🏽‍♂️
