For the Love of skateboarding! Gen Xer documenting my progression along with what it takes to stay fit and healthy while having longevity as an older skateboarder. Let's build a rad community of likeminded SHREDDERS who share an undying passion for skateboarding. KEEP SHREDDING! 🔥🛹🤘
Yeah I have a couple DJi drones but they aren’t always practical especially indoors in crowds. I dig where things are going and no FAA registration needed. Thanks for watching man! Tag me in your drone stuff brotha I’d love to see it! ❤
@@scott.skates - will do! my last upload is actually a drone piece, but I've been slogging away at a new one! The heat we've been getting down here has been tough to deal with! Be well, brother!
Trust me I know, the best thing I ever did was separate from my significant other in 2010. If your partner doesn’t believe in you, your dreams or happiness. Don’t walk, RUN FOR THE HILLS! Trust me all details of kids and property possessions etc will work themselves out but your mental health is what matters. I’m now with the most amazing supportive lady I could ever hope for. Trust the fact that you deserve better. Protect your peace!❤️
45. Set up a cruiser board recently with an old school Valley shape. Also getting my young nephews into skating. Love that us old heads are skating again
Haven’t skated regularly since I was 17 or 18. I’m 40 now, and my daughter wanted me to teach her how to skateboard! So now I’m re-learning, and I’m so glad to find videos like this, that encourages me to get back into it (and to be patient).😊🙌
Its my boredom that inspired me to learn to skate at 53. What I mean by that is, throughout my life I couldn't just ride a bike, that is way to boring no I had to jump the thing than that lead to more I couldn't just swim again BORING! No I had to learn to surf, body board always taking thing to the next level just out of boredom so when surfing was taken away and I couldn't ride my motorcycle's and BMX anymore I took up riding a skateboard only that sounded too boring so I decided to learn tricks instead, inspiration often comes from strange places but as long as it motivates you to progress in life than that's all that matters! Good Video Brother!
I also bought a b4 Fujinon zoom. How do you adjust the macro at the mount to have the zoom lens stay parfocal? When I zoom in the focus changes somehow 😢
I'm 35 and about 6 months ago my son wanted to start skating so I picked up the board after 20+ years off. Man, I love the time we spend skating around together, I even built a mini ramp in my backyard. I get withdrawals if I go a few days without pushing around.
I just started skating I’m 41 started to keep up with my son on his scooter. I landed my first ever trick after only two months I did rock to fakie. I posted on my channel any love would be appreciated
38 just got a new board. Been about 25 years since I've skated. I spend most weekends at the park with my 3 and 5 year old on their scooters so might as well get in on the action as well!
Ten year hiatus and let me tell you all something to get you guys feeling comfortable on the board again. Buy resistance bands and do hip raises everyday. It will get your hip flexors primed and will get you back to feeling comfortable a lot faster
I'll never stop boarding. Anything with wheels really. But I'm a blader. The hate is dieing but still exists. If it's about health and wellness we gotta support anyone who shows up to put the self work in, all the same. Cause the benefits should be shared. I dig the message and hope you keep it up!
48 years old I've skating since I was eight but took long breaks in between but I've always had a skateboard around never without one. Still skating to this day
Hey dude is that goetz? I wanna sk8 with you if your still doing it this vid was 9 months ago. hit me up any time and let me know. It's hard finding our age group to hang out with. Hope to hear back soon. I think I might go down there in a few today 6/18/24
I’m 46 now, started skating 3 years ago after 26 years off. I was worried at first that I would look like a fool at the skatepark as a grown adult in full pads surrounded by 13 year olds. I quickly discovered a whole scene of likeminded guys and girls my age and older (some even in their 60s). It has surprised me as being one of the best things in my life - so many awesome new friends, an incredibly inclusive atmosphere, and a beautiful blend of nostalgia and new experiences. If anyone out there is considering it, just do it. Pads are completely acceptable. Go to the park early. Take it slow, don’t expect to do all the tricks you used to do (right away, anyway). Meet people, have fun, and embrace that feeling of fear and appreciate overcoming it when you learn new things. Enjoy!
Hes so correct tho.. You fail.. And fail.. And get hurt.. And fail.. Break your board.. Fail.. and then you learn your trick and the amazing feeling you get.. Its well worth it.. You earned it.
Just hit 44 years old My daughter (16) said "dad will you teach me to skateboard?" I'm back into the boards now. I'm skating an 8.25 Zero glow in the dark deck with forged titanium independent trucks, glow I'm the dark chunky 58 spitfire wheels (glow in the dark) and oust moc 9 bearings (I removed the covers) and mob clear griptape. I'm getting old but skating is not less fun. I have to relearn almost everything though but I am excited about dad/daughter time
