Great reaction. Their producer had asked them what they wanted to do on stage, Su told him she wanted to fly ... the flying triangle/pyramid was the result and it also got them closer to the fans. Moa has said how she always feels bad for the people at the back in the arena shows being so far from the stage - this was one way to bring the stage a bit closer to them. As they toured the world they realised their foreign fans must have been studying and learning Japanese to sing along with them. As a mark of their love and respect they decided they must reciprocate and return the compliment by learning a song completely in English. 'The One' is that song - it is dedicated to the fans (who they also named The One) and (I think you got it) this is effectively their love letter to the fans.❤ It was the last song on the second album in 2016 (following straight on from 'Tales of the Destinies' which is their homage to Dream Theater's 'Dance of Eternity' - this song started life as part of that song but was separated quite early in the writing process). This was the official video, so the audio was from the album - specifically the Japanese domestic version, so it was the half and half English/Japanese version. The international release had the full English version. They have switched it up as well, there is an "unfinished" version (basically acoustic, just vocals and piano ... it is beautiful) on The First Take channel, but that is pretty much just the first verse. They did the full acoustic version in the 'The One - Stairway to Living Legend' video that they announced their hiatus with in 2021 (if you react to that take care, it is likely to be blocked without a watermark and possibly other precautions) and in most live shows when they play it they will start with the "unfinished" version but half way through the Kami Band will join in to finish with the full version.

When this song is played live, especially in European countries, audiences raise their own national flags to show. It is always very moving moment, it makes us believe that music can unite us all as The One.

At nearly 63 and a metal fan since 1971 this is a melodic power ballad. It ranks with Ozzy's Mama I'm Coming Home and Motley Crue's Home Sweet Home. Been a fan since 2015.

I heard Su's voice for the first time 6 1/2 years ago. It got into my head immediately and it never left. She is in my head 24/7 and I couldn't be happier about it.

While I have my breakfast as well and while I wait to go back to work and on my night off I sit with a beer watching a BabyMetal Blu-ray. Nice! This was a Dec 2015 performance, and the live debut of "The ONE", a tribute song to all their fans. This song is actually "part 2" of what was originally a very long song. Illuminati, LOL! Only the Fox God Knows. The triangle iconography here has to do the series of 3 concerts that year, aptly named "The Trilogy". A quick brief on members and changes over the years to avoid any confusion: *2010:* Formation with Su, Moa, and Yui. *2017:* Yui stops performing Q4 due to health. *2018:* Su and Moa joined by 2, then 5 backup dancers. Yui officially leaves in Oct. *2019:* Babymetal becomes officially a Duo with Su and Moa, who is joined by 3 "Avengers", backup dancers rotating into the 3rd spot. One of them is Momoko. *2023:* Momoko officially becomes the official 3rd member, and Babymetal is back to being an official Trio again. A few suggestions if you want to see Su-metal's vocals, and how Babymetal showcases their band as well. Use "For The Fox God Channel" for this video, which includes subtitles: *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* Su-metal solo and a "love ballad", but Babymetal style 😆. *Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* An epic band flex, and a dark and ominous Su-metal solo. *Tales of the Destinies (Tokyo Dome 2016):* This song is "part 1" that precedes "The ONE". Sung mostly in English to return the favor of those who learned Japanese to understand. The sister song to prog metal juggernaut Tales of the Destinies. Originally intended as one song.

You guys just nailed this one. Fantastic reaction and you got it, this is a love song for BM's fans.You also called the departure. This was to be Yui's last concert. She left-this is all we've been told" on her doctor's advice". You won 't hear anything more specific because Amuse entertainment has always kept a tight lock on any of the band members personal information. Which I think is an understandable and laudable policy. Nothing has been heard from Yui in the public sphere since and this was six years ago. The two of you have quite a talent I've noticed for "getting" what the message is and I love your enthusiasm. I can go for quite a while without hearing this song. Then when I again hear it I'm always blown away by how beautiful and powerful it is. Thanks for doing this One.

Just a quick correction, hope you don't mind - this was filmed at Yokohama in 2015, it was another 2 years before Legend S where Yui missed her first shows and another 8 months after that when she announced she had decided to leave.

@@Grington300 Don't mind at all. This is what I had heard and have apparently been laboring under that misconception ever sinc. It's funny though. Thinking this was Yui's last concert I could never figure out how happy and engaged she looked when flying in the pyramid. That makes a lot more sense now. Thanks.

Babymetal Math: 🦊+🎤+(🍔+🍅)+🎶🎸🎸🎸🥁🎵+=🔥Baby🤘🦊🤘Metal🔥 Did I get it right? As Moa and Yui (now Momoko)'s primary role (other than just being adorable) is to lead the crowd, their brilliant choreography is designed to show the audience when to chant, jump, sing, bow, mosh, thrash, head-bang, etc . Simultaneously it conveys the message of the song. Therefore, they feel the audience is such an integral part of a performance they consider them to be part of the group! So "The One" is actually more than JUST their fans. It consists of the band, the girls, and the fans. They all come together to form "The One". There is also folklore about this . . . but you can get into that later. Thank you for your very enjoyable reactions. Kitsunes UP! 🤘🦊🤘

If you want to see the band in all their glory, look up; -Catch Me If You Can, preferably live at Budokan Black Night 2014, there are compilation vids but some aren't great. -Rhondo of Nightmares with the Mischief of Metal Gods intro. -Yava for some ska metal magic, look for Kami intro -Awadama Fever with Kami intro -Kagerou live, for the Kami band of the West. As others have said, The One is a song for us, the fans, and how much Babymetal appreciate us. And that now includes you jokers, welcome aboard 😎

As Mikedow confirmed, we are The One, the fanbase, the only One...in fact, you are also The One. What blows me away about this song/video is the triangle that the girls are on....could you imagine going to a concert and the main act flying above your head in a triangle stage, singing as they do...the would melt my brain. Also the triangle shape is a good analogy of The One, as the triangle is the strongest shape in nature, so combine that shape with the meaning behind the song shows the strength/bond between the band and the fans

Great reaction, as always. You may want to check another great version from Tokyo Dome Live 2016. There was no flying pyramid, but there was an amazing synchronized light show from every audience, simply breathtaking. Definitely worth checking out. Prior to that song, those amazing girls also performed the extremely difficult "Tales of the Destinies". The change of pace and time signature shift were pure nuts, from what I read, due to its insane difficulties, that song was performed live only once. You guys will surely enjoy both. Cheers!😀

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。One thing is certain. If you are acrophobic, you cannot be a member of BABYMETAL 😄. In addition to the info given by Grington300, my mentor, two things I have. (1) Saki, an excellent shredding guitarist of Nemophila and a big BM fan, said in an interview "The One is so difficult that it is not a kind of song humans should play. It is, however, very cool and decently cute" [source: Japanese magazine Headbang vol.24 page 120] (2) Some people said this song was a little bit too repetitive. But in their live performance you feel as if the length of this song were only 30 seconds and want to listen to it forever. I witnessed it more than 10 times at venues. Whenever they performed this song, I saw divine beauty and heard angelic voices. Su's current matured and richer voice gives you different feeling, I guess. To me, this 2015 version sounds like a call to their fans and recent version sounds like embracing us all.

Saw a quote by Moa - She didn't look down because she didn't want her tears to hit anyone in the audience. ME, I would have volunteered to catch her tears. They perform "The One" in English in Europe and the US. This was an Arena show in Japan. There have been only 2 Arena shows outside of Japan. Wembley Arena, London and LA Forum, in Inglewood, CA. Suggestion - React to Black Babymetal "Sis Anger" and you will see how talented Yui and Moa are.

Yees this was a crucial concert for them. Flyer over their fans, with this song. But on the other hand it limited them extremly. So their Management decided to do something pretty expensive.A stage that can drive around with its own lighting , it can Reise and dessen and it even Container its own smoke generators and it is big enough zwo carry three dancing girls. On the other hand there is not enough plsce for the Band.

This is a song dedicated to their fans, thus the name “The One”, since the fanbase is called The One. They even made a full English version, since many fans learned the Japanese lyrics to their songs and they wanted to give back. I prefer the mixed English/Japanese version tho ❤ Moa said in an interview that the hardest part for her was to stick to the choreography, since all she wanted to do was waiving to the crowd. The triangle that was moving through the arena was made to be closer to all the fans, especially those in the back. That was probably the reason they all looked so serious (I wouldn’t say sad tho) since it was such an emotional moment for them. 🤘🔥🦊

BabyMetal has won the love of many people. Many people envy them but their job is not easy. It was obvious that members who were afraid of heights would find it difficult to complete this performance. Thanks for your great reaction.

There’s a lot more to BABYMETAL than GIMME CHCO. Try MONOCHROME, Piano ver., from the First Take channel. Then maybe BxMxC and TIME WAVE. YUI-METAL left for health reasons. Many conjecture that she hurt her back falling off the stage in a concert. In later performances she seems to be wearing a back brace and to be exhibiting the puffy face symptom produced by steroids administered to reduce inflammation. SU and MOA sang as a duo for several years before MOMO became an official member of the trio.

And yes, this was one of the last concerts with Yui. But in reality it is quite normal if we fon't hear the exact opinion of the doctors. We know Yui stayed under contract with Amuse while we never her from her again. And even all Interviews with them were disputed since no one knew how much control the girls haf. But now we can proably better guessed whst happened. They are now obviously under a new contract and didn't really showed strong reactions when they saw an old Interview with Yui. And even more importsnt they were still together with parts of their old staff. It was identified that Yui was wearing a back bracelez st that time and we can presume that Yui was in pain. While she was pretty young such career ends sre not stypical for dancers. She failed to appear at one concert but it was decided that Babymetal would perform any way. Then there was a bigger pause and then there was a big US Tour and everybody expected that she would be there. But when they started Yui failed to appear. After this concert Su was MAD. She was afraid that the fans would cancel the show. She tried to help Moa who was fighting against her teams and even the fans tried to help and started to sing Yuis lines. After this Su decided that she would not si g under this conditions. They got the offer to terminste their contract but Su and Moa decided to continue to Babymetals 10th birthday. The Management made it clear what happened in the background . While Yui was bezter she no longer felt able to support Babymetal. Su got absolute stage control If something was not OK she had to be informed. And Su and .oa confirmwd that they were in contact with Yui and that she was Well. Before Babymetals 10 birthday Corona came yThere wasalso the Corona Collab with BMTH. Su obviously found nothing better to do than to sing and when she met Moa she obviously tried to get back in shape, so they decided that they would continue and they contacted Kobametal about their Plans.

@@rickwagner- Some certainly, but the bigger points should fit.. As an example we pretty much know that neither the girls nor their Management feel any unusual Regress, that she left. We know that the loss Rates of dancers are significant, which is one of the reasons why their health support is normally oretty good especially in countries like the EU or Japan. Under normal conciderations we have no rights about her Personal health Informations. In fact their employers have to protectvthis Information wxtremly good. And Amuse is no unknown Player in this game.. If you compare it to some of the usual rumours where she would have to expect that they would sent hitman after her. It would explain why Amuse has her still on file. Health ensuranxe and Pension Funds would request this. If there might appear more significant problems. In fact it would also explain why they decided to continue.. It sounds extremly like one of the usual problems where you see that her body was no longer support her normal job but if she takes some of the insane demands out everything seems to be fine. Then it is even prefered if you drop directly out of a job. Especially if you workrd for this Company for years.

@@rickwagner- Really 2015. It would be extremly surprising since they Release the song onl 2016 and half a year latet a music Video. What I meant was the Fox Festival 2017 and there were multiple Observation that she probably expected that this might be her last Performance with Babymetal. This would indicate that Moa and Su Registern problems with zheir friend. Probably not a Showstopper but there was something. For 2017 was her last Performance with Babymetal.

@@ksbrst2010 Those Yokohama Arena concerts were performed on December 12th and 13th, 2015. The pyramid footage is from the 13th. The music video was posted on March 26th, 2016. I'm not sure how you thought that anyone would guess you were talking about the Fox Festival in 2017, but yes, Yui's last appearance on stage with BABYMETAL was at the Big Fox Festival on October 15th, 2017.
