We went metal detecting at a farm permission in Colorado and I found a 1905 Rough Riders Reunion, San Antonio Texas medal. These medals were handed out at the reunion. President Theodore Roosevelt, a fellow Rough Rider himself, attended the reunion. At the reunion, Teddy gave a speech at the Alamo in front of 50 Rough Riders, the group formally known as the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry, and then participated in a parade.
