There is still "sunsetting" in the way that some guns are in rotation and only obtainable in certain seasons due to that rotation (grandmaster/trials weapons)

Cool game, just started Destiny 2. Played the first game back in the day. Had hella fun playing this earlier

I’ve been playing just the free stuff and it’s taken a whole week of daily playing. It’s the gameplay. D2 seems like it needs a Taken king style expansion where they actually add stuff and not copy paste

I’m not in it for the story bc I don’t really care I’m in it for the super fun gameplay - and I haven’t played lightfall so I can’t say anything but all the negatives are coming from the story so I don’t care as long as the gameplay is as fun as it was in prior dlc’s I’m gonna be picking it up eventually

Been playing since ‘dark below’ and I ended up persuading a buddy of mine to get destiny 2 and I’ve never felt more guilt in my life due to the sheer amount of money he had to spend just so he could do the various raids and dungeons as well as the other subclasses tied to beyond Light and light fall. He’s enjoying himself and he says that he doesn’t mind, but I truly feel like a dogshit friend.

I have 3672h in the game. DLC is super interesting but only once, on the other two characters it feels painful to play. The season "episode" ( "cheap" try to make 3 week content in 3 months ) are boring. I dropped the episode, after Act I, And will be back at the end of the season, because it's 8 hours of game content, 5 hours of what you grinding in the same location.

I started play Destiny in 2020 to 2021 but now i returned . Where is the DLC from first year?

I'm an OG in a sense. In destiny 1 I use to teach people to run Hard mode raids. From Vault all the way to Wrath of the Machine. In Destiny 2 I played daily all through the original 3 raids and Forsaken. But unfortunately by the time Last Wish dropped my whole crew didn't want to play anymore. I'm behind on the raids from Last Wish onward and I can never get people to play raids with me because I don't already know them. It's sad because I love this game. But when it comes to Dungeons and Raids, I get left out. I still stay up to date on the story though thanks to My Name is Byf

Wow, after like 5 years destiny 2 finally became a cool sequel? And i only have to buy like 4 expansions or a 100$ bundle in addition to the 60$ i spent when this abomination released? Ill pass. Dont care if It finally became sequel. Shouldve launched as one.

I played destiny 2 before it was f2p stopped for a lil while and once it went f2p I hopped back on and saw I couldn’t access my dlc on logged right out I’m getting back into it now though and it’s great

Nope haven't had fun in D2 as much as I did in D1, did every raid in D1, missed out on a lot of raid in D2, the whole Idea of clans is stupid, when the clan leader ignores people in the clan and pulls people from LFG, or raids only with the same people over and over and leaves the rest of the clan hangin. Can take it or leave it.

“No sun setting” is half incorrect. Just a few days ago they deleted a years worth of seasonal content from the game. All the missions and story and dialogue gone. Some missions repurposed but most are deleted.

So lemme ask these questions... How much do I need to consistantly pay? So I heard you have to pay for dungeons, some strikes are only obtainable through paying for season passes and do I also have to pay with my soul because it'll most likely take away all my time because bungie dont like to be nice to new players, right? Also how much exactly comes with the Witch Queen or do I actually need to purchase the season pass with the Witch Queen to get a full experience because there's a lack of content in the "large" expansion by itself. P.s dont take my distaste for bungie personally I want to play their game, I religiously played D1, I just dont wanna get fucked in the ass by them again 😊

It's time to go on strike. No more Destiny addiction. Don't buy or play anything Destiny related. The more people who do this, the bigger impact we can make. We've tolerated enough BS from Bungie so we're taking a stand. Wtf are we paying them for anyway? Low quality "content" and stupid cosmetics that should be able to be obtained through gameplay? Overpriced dlc that doesn't even come with a complete story and is full of bugs?

What you got to lose: MONEY Every new season they create in destiny 2 they lock the story behind a paywall. It's understandable to do that for big DLC packages but not for the seasons especially since the story in that season is gone when the latest season appears. So is destiny 2 worth playing.... the answer: NO IT'S NOT WORTH PLAYING

When they fix the crucible, release years old DLC for free to new and old players, have dedicated teams for PVP, and fix their servers and net coding, then there will be a reason to be a concurrent player, instead of occasionally hopping on to see what’s changed

A misconception going around is that sunsetted gear isn't gonna be sunset anymore. It still is. It's just that now, no new guns will be sunset.

If your a PvP player it is definitely not worth it. All PvP players should quit the game. Bungie doesnt deserve to have a PvP player base.

I finally decided to come back. Playing thru Beyond Light with my main (just started last week). I guess my life is now in the hands of Destiny 🥲

"the community is unforgettable" yeah all i see are them getting angry at each other and the most vocal are the gatekeeper type and then bungie makes a huge f-up and people are mad about that for a bit till a week or so later theres some magical overpriced cosmetics in the store and people are all "OMG THATS SOO COOL" I can't in good faith recommend it to anyone, new or returning. If you get into it then the recommendation didn't come from me.

Unless you are a f2p player it is NOT worth it. I paid for forsaken, warmind and curse of Osiris just to loose them a few years later. Hell i evenpaid for the red war and that's completely gone. Also if you play by console and don't have a premium subscription you can't play crucible, vanguard ops, gambit etc. If you are willing to pay 70-100 bucks a year for new content suit yourself. You'll have a great time completing new quests, campaigns , raids etc.

I tried guys. I did. Tried to like this game but it was too damn confusing and just not a fan of the art style. Tried Warframe and that was atrocious. Just uninstalled 140gb of destiny 2. I think I'm more into division 2 and remnant 2.

They already sunsetted everything they wanted. That is why they stopped doing it

I played D2 when it was only on console. The whole controversy around Steam users getting all of the content we bought for $60 for free, I was there for. D2 was and still is an endless grind fest just to get the best gear. I’ve never regarded a game where 90% of the content centers around grinding as an actual game. Monster Hunter has a bit of a grind in getting good gear too, but at least the combat is good enough to where it makes you want to come back for more. I’ve always found Destiny 2’s combat to be flat and boring given that it’s extremely repetitive. The literal definition of insanity right here.

I was a Destiny fanatic until the game RELEASED. All the hype and everything I hoped for fell flat on its face and I uninstalled within the week. My friends brought me back to it right before #2 came out and we had fun and then mysteriously NEVER BOTHERED TO PLAY IT AGAIN. My friends and family couldn't be bothered to play #2 for more than a week and I'm glad I never got sucked into this time and money wasting pit of dispair. SCREW Bungie.

Free game only. The whole game is Strafe left right, hide behind cover shoot repeat ad infinitum with different skins. Not enough puzzles or variety game play. Great game mechanics but repetitive, their whole go is stronger & sgronger enemies but no move one sets to learn to beat etc etc.....basically button mashn grindn. SO NO its not my type of game, they had potential for great & went very mediocre. No sets indpire AWE, generic worlds & settings. I wouldnt spend money on it, the story-line is also mediocre!! Elden Ring is much better!! Not enough space fights or vehicle bssed missions etc. Just run around generic scenes & shooting - LOTS OFCSHOOTING weapons that once under-powered no point using again

If you just want to play for the fun of shooting with some light “guidance”, it’s fun. If you’re chasing stats, red border weapons, etc., it’s hell.

Well depends on what type of player you are. If you have the money, cause majority of the "good" stuff is locked behind a pay wall. Then yeah, if you like the game. If you don't like it, don't buy the expansions. Cause Destiny 2 story has always been struggling between good and bad. Bungie proven they are pretty much inconsistent at delivering good story telling. To understand most of story, I'm afraid for new players. You gonna be watching hours of vids to catch up since you can't play those previous campaigns anymore. If your not interested in the story and just care about gameplay, there is alot here. I'm just here cause the music still slaps. Sad that bungie laid off they composer that got them they recognition in musical scores.

Bungie needs to focus pve and stop holding back bc of pvp. Bungie needs to stop taking away our rewards. Bungie needs to start giving us cosmetic rewards for certain triumphs. Taking lessons from activision. Bungie needs to balance better and stop the teeter totter nerf/buff nonsense. Bungie needs to stop giving away hard earned rewards at a later date. I understand it’s mainly about getting g new people to play but at least make the gun easier to attain but maybe make catalysts and/or cosmetics and effects only attainable through earning it via high skilled activities. Bungie needs to figure out crafting and/or add vault space and/or make armor/weapons more relevant. I really only need a hand full of items to do everything in the game. But then they sunset the sunset???? Does that mean my sunset weapons are coming back or am I going to have to go through absolute hell earning them….again….like what I’ve already had to do with other things in this game. If they even run some things back with whatever it is they’re doing. Ludicrous. I have a huge list of QoL improvements for this game but I digress. Bungie… figure it out.

Well after the video about the f**king micro-transactions and ALL the things that you should pay for by aztecross. I would rather not, although I do have the money, but when the game makes you feel unloved with awful recycled boring activites. Super diluted feeling of exotics, and no pvp maps in ages, along with any addition to the game trying to suck as much money from you as possible. Nah I am not going back, rest in piece destiny ❤, I will only return to play pvp Only and not look at anything else if I will comeback. Feels like stockholm syndrome if I comeback fully.

Its not worth it. I enjoyed destiny with friends in the past. But Destiny is designed to keep you playing more Destiny. Plus there many fulfilling things to do with your friends in person. If you have strictly online friends you still have a lot of options. One of my Destiny friends and I will alternate streaming games to each other. Lately he's been streaming Subnautica while we chat. I've been streaming Baba Is You and we'll solve the puzzles together. Watching him play Subnautica has helped me to step outside of myself and to appreciate him and what he enjoys, even if its not for me. Baba is you has shown the two of us that we both think and solve problems quite differently, which has helped us grow as friends and blast through the game. My two cents, consider trying different activities with you friends. Because if they are your friends they are there to be with you, as you should be for them.

I played back when this game came out and took a year or two off cause it just got repetitive. I come back and they throw so much at you that its hard to keep track of everything. Destiny one did this too, but it was easy to get back into it.

I just like getting on and doing space stuff and kicking space ass, and its great for that. Moderation is key, sure their are lots of quests, weapons, titles, you name it. If those things are why you play the game then yeah, itd make you a psychopath.

, if you’ve left or are new, try destiny 2. It’s awesome. It only gets bad if you’ve been playing it for what you would call forever. Even then that’s subjective. I say it’s worth it for anyone. But hey need to place all previous dlc that still exists into one pack. As an option.

I played the first one, but not any other DLC’s I remember having a blast on multiplayer made me want to return when playing halo, infinite I quit halo because Bungie has some thing special 343 ruined halo

yeah, i stopped because of how monotonous and boring the game is now, the same thing every season with a different paint on it, constant fomo and deceptive practices, and most of all the amount in content getting smaller and smaller with the prices increasing more and more.

I stopped at destiny, trials of osiris was pretty much what kept me playing at the time and its just not the same. Had to put it down. Ngl it was fun as hell, but I just lounge around on Warframe now.

For any new lights, or returning players. I recommend My Name is Byf’s Dynasty, and the complete story of Destiny, videos to get up to speed on the story and lore.
