My grandparents used to do this as their retirement hobby. Would go all around hitting up auctions, garage sales, and estate sales buying all sorts of cool stuff. She had a bunch of huge books covering what kind of things were with money and how to identify authentic ones and would sell them at her stall in a local antique shop and on eBay once that became popular. They’d use the money to find about two cruises a year and traveled to all sorts of places, was always really fun hanging out with them and going through their newest purchases or attending sales with them :3

Low end my dad has saved 250k by buying from garage sales. He was an investment broker so by the end of his career was definitely making great money but always bought from garage sales. How? Most people just want stuff gone from their house, chances anyone was looking for a bin of Thomas the train toys in sellers town was unlikely. Now the toy gets a new home he makes some money and original owner gets rid of something that he didn’t need or want anymore for some extra garage space.

@@MarxPopstar69 There is no greed if you are selling and someone is willing to pay the price, the amount doesn't matter as long as someone pays for it, it means the worth is there for someone. A home near me was having a yard sale and when we went to check it out they were giving everything away for FREE. Apparently they were moving and they didn’t need any of the stuff set out so it was an easy grab and surprisingly no competition even though they had signs on every other block.

People don't always want to deal with the hassle of listing online and mailing packages. Additionally, lots of people aren't too particular about nickel and diming everything when their main priority is decluttering. Depends on your finds, sometimes you can find stuffs which are still intact, in decent condition in the box and everything, which could worth for quite a bit of money if you'd resell them. Sometimes you can find awesome great collectible stuffs which people would be willing to pay big money to get em off your hands. But all to all, you gotta have a good eye for finding these stuffs, you gotta know which ones gonna get you double if not triple and more of the money that you initially bought them for when you gonna flip them. Or, just like this guy is doing here on the vid, you can Google search em stuffs worth and compare if it'll be worth a buy or not.. Experience and good general knowledge plays a very important role here in this kinda trade..

You hit it big on the Thomas trains set. That set looks almost complete (the original ones were all wood) and you could keep it forever! I bought one of those complete sets in 1993 or 94 for my son and I paid $600 for the table the tracks, and a small handful of trains. I then had to purchase every single one of those other trains separately And I think that they were $15-$25 each. I still have part of a sad but over the past 30 years my nephews used to sneak them home in their pockets so now it’s a broken set. It also came with a wooden crate that had a cushion on the top and they could sit on it while they played. I still have the crate, but the blue cushion lid is gone.
